This location is located that has a large African American community and yet during the Christmas holidays 90% of there merchandise features Caucasian Santa's, figurines etc. I have inquired with staff about this and I always get the same excuse, "We put black merchandise out but it sells so fast". Yet the store is loaded with Caucasian merchandise. Commend sense says if black merchandise sells so fast you should order more!!! Representation matters!! I always appreciate the helpful associates and the kind banter while checking out. We go there so often that they remember us and I also enjoy the interaction. The inventory is reasonable and it would be great if the store could expand and increase their furniture and decorative pillow section. I really like this Homegoods location! It is clean, amazing selection of items, and the staff is very kind and friendly! I was excited to find some clear storage containers as well as organic cacao powder and organic garlic powder. The fall and Christmas items they have right now out are super cute too. I'll be coming here to shop again! I agree with other reviewers this location has bad customer service due to the management staff. I was told I could not return Christmas items because it was seasonal. Nowhere is this posted in the store or on their website. I had to call corporate and they had to contact the store. Needless to say, I had to return to the store which is an inconvenience and not good customer service. Then yesterday 1/24/24 once again, I tried to return a Christmas item and was met with the same resistance and also was told the holiday return policy was over. However, the Homegoods website it clearly states that the holiday return policy is through 1/25/24. I was able to return my items but it was not without conflict and a nasty attitude from the cashier who probably was JERRY, he name tag only showed a last name. The "manager" Jerry is a jackass and I'm reporting him to corporate. Rude, unprofessional and flat out lied to my face. As a paying patron the manager is there to decrease conflict. All the furniture on the floor was damaged or broken. Finally found a decent desk chair. *buys it* *chair breaks One manager said I could bring in a damaged item for an exchange or store credit. Once I went in, the other manager working said she will not do an exchange or return for store credit. Didn't seem very professional to someone else working in retail. One star. I have been looking for a particular chair and called the Cedar Hill location and got in touch with Adarius. I gave him the style number and description of the chair and he told me they had it on the floor. I asked him to please hold it for me and I would be there asap. I drove 45 minutes to get there and he had left, the chair he put on hold for me was not the chair I asked for AND the chair was broken. There was a note on the chair saying it was broken. He did not tell me that on the phone. I would not have driven over there. I spoke with the manager and he said "sorry" - very apathetic. I wasn't expecting much but a little of compassion would have gone a long way. Terrible customer service. read more

I'm just convinced that people in this city just like to complain. They just need to go ahead and move further south, like they already threaten to do . . . or move to the overcrowded northern suburbs that they are always comparing us to. This store always has great finds. It's always full of inventory. It's always neat and organized. I am grateful that we have the variety of stores that we do because some of the neighboring towns do not . . . which is why many come to Cedar Hill to shop. The staff is average. I am not a high maintenance customer and do not require a lot of staff interaction. If I have questions or needs anything, the staff has always been helpful. Some are not as perky or outgoing as they could be, but blame management. Management sets the tone for the store. The greeting that you get when you walk in may be the only self-initiated interaction that you get from the staff. Although I usually will have at least one staff member ask "Do you need help finding anything?" while I'm there. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THE MANAGER IS THE WORST. The manager was so rude. She interrupted me with an attitude every time I asked something. The cashiers were rude as well, no one will go out of their way to help you. The manager looks like she hated her job and she was basically taking it out of the customers. Horrible customer service. Cashier stated there is a rule to prove authenticity before scanning coupon. All cashiers should know you can receive a discount of 10% when you apply and are approved for a card. She didn't even attempt to scan and spoke rudely very loud in front of other customers. I'm convinced people in cedar hill forget this location is here and available! It's a hidden gem! I find so many cool things in here every time I come. I Christmas shopped here and got many of the things that I needed. Lots of specialty snacks and gadgets that you completely forget about and can't just purchase at your regular Walmart or Target. I found little knick knacks to get for my friends as well. I also found some great items to decorate my table with for Christmas. I look forward to coming back and finding more options to make my house beautiful. read more

This store selection is subpar but because I frequent HomeGoods almost daily, you still can find good pieces. But again, it isn't often. This rating however is a combination of this store and a worker by the name I Crystal. Recently, I returned 4 pillows to the store as it did not go with the decor for one of our homes. I approached the counter spoke and explained that I have a rtn. She asked if I had a receipt and I responded yes. The pillows were oversized Ralph Lauren sO I had one in each bag. By the time I gave her the second pillow she asked again if I had the receipt and I gave it to her. Long story short she had no problems with the items as they were in the same purchased condition plus they were all white. Easy to spot issue. She asked me to insert my cc for refund and I asked for the ending of the card #. I go to proceed and before I can insert she tells me I need to see your card. Wtf... I explained to her as I handed my card to her, that she did not need to see my card as that is not HomeGoods policy or any credit card usage policy. She then says well some people try to...and I stopped her because as long as she had legit items and a receipt, that's all that her company requested. When I explained that I would be contacting Corp. she then tries to tell me that's how she was trained. She is a white woman and I am a woman of color. I had on a University of California tee and baseball cap and not dressed fancy as I had just came from classes at University of Texas Arlington. This is clear discrimination as she was more concern about getting the receipt mid part of scanning, as if questioning how I had so many $50 pillows...and then from there wanting to go as far as to check again by looking at my cc I was inserting. Did I mention my pillows were almost $200. Little did she know I had spent $500 in that one day at HomeGoods. As I do multiple trips or locations. Furthermore, she is a mature woman and not an uninformed minor and because of me visiting 4 main locations, I've seen her for at least 2 years but have never had any interaction with her. So she have a good understanding of the company she works for. Corporate has been informed and I will keep going to the WONDERFUL Mansfield store where a black woman spending money with her errand clothes on has never been a problem. Spoke w/ Store Mgr. Glenn Donaldson and he was very professional and apologetic. He did inform me that the cashier was inappropriate. It made things a lot better. Thank you! read more
