Apparently their employees think it's my job to help them go home early. (This is getting to be a bigger problem at stores as customers no longer seem to be so appreciated. And closing time seems to mean 15 or more min.(s) before actual closing time. And working closing as I once did, no longer means just accepting you have to stay after closing, and customers who are the reason you have a job in the first place are NOT the problem. I went to this store the first and probably last time tonight. I am doing a big renovation project and saw that they looked open on my way to Home Depot. I couldn't see their hours, but the door opened, so I grabbed a cart and proceeded. A miserable looking aproned woman glared at my empty cart, followed me and over solicitously asked if she could help me find anything. When I moved away from her and said I am just looking she moaned "but we have only five minutes"! Way to welcome a new customer, or at least make them feel like they have to buy something now! ( A polite we close in five minutes would have allowed me to assess the store and plan future trips. And would have made me feel my business was something other than a burden.) So I left what looked like a basic RossMarshalls type store annoyed at the lost art of customer service or at least job appreciation. I really value customer service and shopping experience hence the ho hum rating. read more

This store is AMAZING. If you are looking for home furnishings at very reasonable prices LOOK NO FURTHER. This place has it all for every room in your home (or office). I love how they sort stuff out by color and theme. They have very high quality items too.. If you haven't been here before go check it out. I love browsing this store! I came here on a weekly basis after buying a new home. There's so many items here at a discounted price. I come here to buy decor, not furniture. Items that I know I won't keep forever & just to add accents for my home. It seems like they get shipments every week because every week I'd find new items. Don't pass their pet items. I bought a bed for my puppy for only $15! It was a steal because I found dog beds in pet stores for $40 & I knew my puppy was going to grow out of it. Customer service is great! I received an item from HomeGoods as a gift & it was damaged. I was able to get a refund! Heads up! Make sure you check the items thoroughly. They might be damaged. read more

Parking lot is full of their shopping carts since there isn't a designated cart return area outdoors. Inside is messy and cluttered. Compared to the Tj Maxx stores nearby, this is no exception. They're part of the same chain and yet those stores maintain a clean and organized atmosphere while this home goods store is far from organized. Today I went in and found a perfect small table, but it was really corner damaged. I asked for a discount and she offered me an AS IS sale of $ 9.99 off the $ 59.99 price. If I could give 0 stars to this place I would. I've bought a rug from there and when I went to return it the manager refused to do that because he said that the rug had multiply stains which that's true. When I bought it I saw couple of stains on it and I wanted to return and the manager name Rigo Peres was very unprofessional and didn't care about the customer being unhappy instead he kept saying that this is not customer service and that the issue had to do with the store policy. I don't recommend this store to anyone. They sell stuff that have been used and don't care for their customers. Why are you even called a manager if you can't make your customer happy. Cute little store. They have everything from pet stuff to furniture. It's almost like a mix between a Tuesday Morning/Kohls. As with any of these overstock stores (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ross) the selection is very hit and miss. There was virtually nothing in the way of curtains and curtain hanging hardware, sheet sets were mostly size full or queen, and a LOT of the cute painted kids decor was chipped, but they were still charging a premium price and I didn't think I'd be able to do a suitable touch up job, so I opted not to buy. They had a large selection of giant apothecary jars in various shapes and sizes, all of which were fairly reasonably priced. Wish I had somewhere I could decorate with them that my 6 month old son couldn't get to. A lot of stuff seemed overpriced, especially considering half the reason for going to these stores is to find a slight bargain. read more

This is a dangerous place to venture in to when killing time! Its like a giant Ross Store but without the clothing! The pricing are amazing, and the goods are awesome! I was able to get a nice set of bed sheets that would have easily cost me 45bucks anyplace else (Sears or Macys) for less then 20, and I was able to eyeball a few more things that I want for my home! I normally love this home goods but we just had a horrible experience with the manager Sylvia. So hubby and I went looking for a media center and we found a perfect one but hubby noticed the poor craftsmanship. It had holes from nails, cracks, staple holes from packaging along the edges as well. Since I worked at Tjmaxx before I figured we could ask the manager for a damage discount. Here comes Sylvia and she tries to insult our intelligence by calling it shabby chic. Lol Shabby chic is like milk paint or distressed paint job both not obvious holes and cracks. We said no thanks. As we leave minding our own business she felt the need to continuously try to educate us on shabby chic Instead of a simple have a good night or stay quiet. She might need to go back to training because I see other reviews where she has been rude and unprofessional. From what I've read corporate isn't doing anything about the poor management. I come here weekly because they are always getting new prizes for me. The selection is great and the prices are super low for such good quality. There's so much to choose from for your kitchen, dining room, bathroom, bedroom, and living room. There's furniture, mirrors, artwork, pet stuff, garden decor, children's toys, and a few select food items. The staff are great! Did I mention how low the prices are?!! This store was actually pretty decent. Huge, lots of good selection, some ok deals...a bit more pricey than ross on some things but better quality. About on par with what Kohl's has I'd say, still premium price but discounted, not quite as cheap. It appeared that most of the stuff was more so overstock from the past few seasons rather than a couple years, which is nice. It was mostly kitchen and home decor in there geared for specific demographics, also kind of nice to browse if you are looking for a particular gift for a particular person. Never heard of this store until my girlfriend mentioned it when we started shopping for furniture for our new place. Quite surprising considering I usually shop at all the other discount stores like TJMaxx, Ross, and Marshalls. Like the others mentioned, this discount store is also hit and miss when it comes to the items and I still think some of the prices are a little expensive. I love Home Goods, but service at ck. out is poor. Waiting for 10 min. In line, two people complained they would leave if that didn't get another checker. Since I was next in line I said are u opening another register?and the comment was ignored. The manager was helping the checker with a problem and ignored my question. I saw other workers on the floor and they were not called to ck. When it was my turn I asked why the manager didn't do anything to help and she said she is not allowed to ck. she needs to be on the floor. I was shopping at this location and had a very unpleasant experience with Lisa, who is the store manager. This is very surprising, considering that she does not have people skills, she lacks professionalism and raises her voice during the conversation with clients. In my opinion, this is very unacceptable. It's a pity, because I like this store and it seems to me that it is not me who should avoid shopping at this location but the management should adequately train their employees. This place reminds me of a Ross, but better stuff and it's things for your home. Some things are pricey and some things are at a great deal. You do have to take the time to look around. My experience at this Home Goods store was awesome! The staff was helpful and offered to assist me multiple times. When it was time to stuff a gigantic mirror in my compact vehicle, a young man spent at least 10 minutes playing the ultimate geometry game with me. He was very patient and will to assist. The store itself is great but that's where it ends, some of the staff are quite rude and sometimes look at you like you have two heads if you ask a simple question, or you have inconvenienced them. I think I can put this down to there is NEVER enough staff on the registers, so long lines with only 2 or 3 out of 6 registers being attended, so I get that they possibly are stressed out HOWEVER not my fault so be nice! read more

Only reason I gave a one star was because the store is a great place to buy things for your home. My family has been coming to this store for YEARS. So I'm very fortunate this year my husband and I were able to buy our home and we made our first House warming party with Family & Friends and finally I was able to organize my home after remodeling some things around the house. Family members have gave me and our family gifts but not to be rude they didn't match my decor. So I call the store before hand to make sure I was able to exchange the things I received for something of my taste and when I get to the store the cashier LUMIDIA was not only rude staying oh well I don't know if we can exchange these. They all had their tags and they were in great condition. I was polite and said, I just want to exchange them for my taste and don't want money back or anything. So she goes on scans all the items and then the manager SILVIA the manager comes and makes a fit about oh that's too many things and with her rude voice embarrassed me and my daughter stating THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I WILL EXCHANGE THIS. Telling her fellow co-workers that I probably stole the items which Is INSULTING. I can definitely ask my family for receipt but imagine the embarrassment asking for a receipt to exchange something they gave you as a gift. Not only was she so disrespectful in front of these customers but was RACIST because I'm Hispanic woman. My husband is a police officer and imagine the insult that is to OUR FAMILY. This lady and cashier should be FIRED because who wants to go to a store where u are being targeted just because of your race. My family and Friends spend thousands of money all the time when decorating or gift giving at this store. I held my tongue from saying anything because it's not okay to go to a store and have other customers feel uncomfortable. Worst customer service I have ever seen at a Home Goods store. Very rude management! All of the supervision wants to be the chief! Had items on hold while shopping, that were taken by other customers. Store was a mess, Dogs loose in front of store (outside) were given more attentions then the customers on the inside as the Store Manager lead the dogs into the store to try and locate their owner, ( if by chance the owner was shopping in store.) Today was the second time that I have left a cart FULL of items to purchase and walked out o the store. Second time! This is a great store with a huge selection, but someone has got to figure out the staffing. There needs to be more cashiers available! No exaggeration, but the line was all the way through the marked area for the line (which is a decent size already) down the front of the entrance AND then down an actual aisle of goods. Ridiculous. I was very disappointed that I not purchase my goods, but cannot justify waiting in that size of line with only two cashiers. It would have taken me 45 minutes EASILY to get through. This is by far the worst store i visited when it comes to products and customer service. My husband and I were shopping at their store, he called for assistance because there's an ottoman on the thrid shelf who's lying on its side instead of standing on its 4 legs and seems dangerous. But Andy, the associate assured my husband that it was fine and it wont fall. We continued browsing and checked another ottoman just at the bottom, i sat and tried the ottoman when the first ottoman we were browsing fell on my head. Not to mention i was 6 mos pregnant when this happened. My husband called for help. Andy called her manager and we rushed to the hospital. 4 weeks later NO APOLOGIES WHATSOEVER WERE GIVEN BY THE ASSOCIATE. Being RUDE or TERRIBLE is an understatement to describe Home Goods. I called today to set up a meeting with the manager / owner / incharge but apparently, the manager on duty does not know anything. Well i hope this post informs her of what happened before she considers herself a manager. read more
