There were many employees at work today but only three at the cash register. One was dusting the rack, while so many waited to check out. Then, I bought two full baskets of goods. They suggested I pull my car to the front, which was the best idea. But, do you think someone could help me to the car? No, she told me she was going to leave my second basket unattended, with the carts. So, in the pouring rain, I rushed to grab it and add it to my first cart. This location is unbelievable. I stood in line for 32 minutes with 200 + people behind me. Out of 12 registers there was THREE open. If you see something you like, you'd better buy it because it will likely be gone the next time you come in. The inventory changes here constantly, it's like a new selection each time you shop. On this shopping trip I was helping a friend shop for barstools. We had shopped at many different furniture stores, both in person and online, and were unable to find what she was looking for. She had a certain style and color in mind but up to this point we hadn't found anything even close. We walked into this store and right away saw three barstools that matched her requirements. The price was very reasonable as well. A helpful employee loaded them on a flatbed for us and into the vehicle. I like this store, only a couple of drawbacks. First, it can be rather disorganized. You really have to search sometimes to find what you are looking for, and often merchandise is in random places. The biggest drawback is the long, long line to check out. We were here on a weekday afternoon and still the line was very long and very slow. Don't get me wrong, great stuff for a good price. I went with my mother and we adored everything there. But the line was way to long. Worst run HomeGoods/TJMaxx we've ever been to and trust me we've been to A LOT of these stores. I've avoided it in the past. Today's visit will be my last. At 11:00 we entered the checkout line which snaked back 2 rows with close to 50 in line. Three open checkouts and only one person checkouts out after waiting 10 min. So really only 1 checkout functioning. The lady in front of us left her full cart and walked out. Soon there were 20 more behind us. I walked to the register and politely asked a cashier if there were any other cashiers. She snidely looked at me with a vague nod. After a couple minutes she picked up a phone and directly called someone to come after she looked out to see everyone in line. After another 15 min manager was called for a return issue. She glanced out and saw which had to be 60 in line and picked up the phone and called a gal over the PA. Stupid me, we waited 35 min to check out. Had the first gal then the second not been called it would have been closer to an hour. Then the manager disappeared. Still over 60 in line but at least they had 6 registers going. The gal I politely inquired to should be fired. Her attitude will get her there eventually. Sadly good help is hard to find. But happily, I don't have to shop there. This was the worst experience I've ever had in a Homegoods. I usually go to the Carmel location and love it, but I was in the area and needed a few things so I went to this location. First of all, it was so crowded I could barely get down the aisles. Not their fault, but how they handled it was horrible. They were highly understaffed. I had to wait 45 minutes to check out. I thought for sure w it h over 100 people waiting in line they'd have their registers all open. I was mistaken. They had over half of them not being used. To me, that's where they get one star. If you are going to have a line that wraps the entire store, you need to have all the registers open. To get 3 pillows, a trip I expected to take maybe 30 minutes took almost an hour and a half. This is a great store! I love the selection of things for your home and things for your closet. You are always able to find something unique, useful or stylish. The prices cannot be best. I've also never had an issue with quality on any type of product. The store is also very well organized and kept very clean for a store of its size. The only issue I have is the line is always insanely long and very few cashiers have lines open.. but trying to see the positive in every situation the wait in line gives me the chance to see all the fun things in the impulse isle! The store is usually pretty busy and the parking lot fairly full most of the time. Their prices are low for some nice items to make your house look fancier. They are always getting in different items, so inventory changes around often. Which makes the store cool, and gives you a reason to return often. Oh Homegoods...... How do I love you?! It's such a great place for getting decorative odds and ends. This past weekend I purchased 2 sets of Waterford 12 Days of Christmas ornaments. Retail they still sell for $99.00 for the 12 ornaments. In Homegoods they were just $19.00! The lines can get long, especially on the weekends, but the deals you can get on name brand furniture and home accessories are incredible. Plus, you never know what you will find! Being a fan of tag sales and antique malls, I love a Home Goods- you just never know what you'll find! Lots of decent brands and such a variety of items. Highlights of the home store: lamps (a little on the spend side for me), rugs (very fair pricing), some furniture (prices don't seem much better than elsewhere), and tons of decor stuff--bathroom, bedroom, kitchen, stationary stuff--it's a mixed bag, but if you like the hunt, you just may find a treasure or two here. Luckily living in a city means you have access to more than just one, and good thing because this one I only frequent if I'm right next to it and I REALLY want to go. Sadly, this establishment is connected to Tj Maxx to make one large store, which sounds amazing, but is not. They have like 12 or more registers but they are never all open & if you've been here, they ALL NEED to be open at all times. I've been here during Christmas time, on a Saturday evening, and even during the work day and there has ALWAYS been a long line. Sometimes this line is 50+ people deep. Most people don't come to homegoods with a list of items they NEED so when you're browsing and find cute things, you have to constantly decide whether or not you're willing to stand in line for 20 minutes or more to go home with that item. I love coming to look at the jewelry selection but I'm always disappointed that I seem to wait forever for someone to recognize me standing there waiting to look at something in the case. I do not want to be rude and holler "hey! Excuse me, can you help me?" They have what I consider to be "not yo friends, neighbors, or mama's furniture or accessories"! Items are fashionable, modern, and "most of the time reasonably priced". Today, spring is in the air and they did not disappoint with product offerings! The one thing that is disappointing, however is the long line! There is one tip for this business from 2013 that says don't go on weekend afternoons to avoid the long lines. Five years later, this is apparently still an problem. I arrived today about 7pm. After an hour of shopping, I head to the front and see a RIDICULOUSLY long line!! I'm talking at least twenty people!! I lingered to see how fast they were moving because surely all the registers are open with such a demand. Nope, there were four employees behind the counter talking (There were about six actually ringing). Why couldn't these people help the cashiers bag merchandise to speed the process if they weren't trained as ch cashiers?! Needless to say, I left my cart right there and left. I believe in being respectful of people's time and I value mine. I also don't believe in having to wait ridiculous amounts of time to give a business my money. They should respect my time and money. This is a pretty typical Homegoods, but it's connected to a TJ Maxx so you can do 2x the shopping. BUT with 2x the shopping, comes 2x the customers and 2x the wait in line. I come here mostly for random odds and ends that I want in the home. They have very affordable and very random things that you would need around the home, along with some great food options (i.e. matcha tea, teas, grains, coffees). Why the low rating? 1- the lines and 2- the staff. The workers at the registers are hardly ever friendly and couldn't be any less happier to be there. The workers that are out throughout the store are much better and more helpful. It's a good store, but don't expect to get the best service. Go in, get what you need, and get out. read more

Called one afternoon to see if a couch was still available for purchase that I saw that morning. They said yes, and they would hold it for me until I got there that evening. In the mean time, I got rid of my couch and headed up less than 3 hours after the phone call. When I arrived, they informed me they sold it to someone else (it was still in the store with a hold tag on it). I told them that it was held for me, but they said they didn't hold items over the phone so it couldn't be for me. Very upsetting. Usually love this store, shop here weekly. read more
