This is a great store! I love the selection of things for your home and things for your closet. You are always able to find something unique, useful or stylish. The prices cannot be best. I've also never had an issue with quality on any type of product. The store is also very well organized and kept very clean for a store of its size. The only issue I have is the line is always insanely long and very few cashiers have lines open.. but trying to see the positive in every situation the wait in line gives me the chance to see all the fun things in the impulse isle! Home goods is certainly worth the visit despite the long wait for check out

I maybe go in Von Maur once a season, and it is even more noticeable at least to me, when you visit a store in longer intervals. They do have excellent eye-catching merch displays and still focused on upscale dressing and seemed like every section had a sales associate to help and areas were upkept. They are targeting heavily toward the older higher income demographics. It is especially telling when you listen to their choice of piano music in them. I would think a salesclerk would go a bit bonkers hearing taped renditions over and over of sickeningly sweet instrumental earworm inducing oldies all day long. I'm surprised this mall chain has lasted, as it hasn't really changed with the times. As times get ever more difficult with less to spend in this way, it will be interesting to see how this chain reacts.

The merchandise is high end, name brand. They carry men's, women's and children's clothing and shoes and a small section of seasonal household decor. Yesterday, I bought several gifts. The store was decorated with a pianist playing Christmas music. I found exactly what wanted and an associate carefully took the information for wrapping and sending. I saw several other things I wanted, including Christmas outfits for my granddaughters. I left without buying, but later in the day decided my girls needed those outfits. I called the store and Deidreana found the outfits and put them on hold until I got back over there. The outfits were even on sale. Returns/exchanges are easy. They put gift receipts in each package. The store is always immaculate and has lovely restrooms. There is plenty of parking around the store, although parking fills during the holiday shopping season. I recommend and will probably go back this week myself.

While I've always had a strange affection for Castleton Square, the truth is these closed-air malls are dying out in favor of mixed usage malls and open-air concepts. Fashion Mall is still around, of course, and Greenwood Park is still here even if it has done at least a modest renovation toward open-air. Washington Square? It might as well be dead. Lafayette Square? The same. Hamilton Town Center is pretty rocking, however, it largely is an open-air concept. Fashion Mall is great for luxury items and a food court vastly superior to Castleton. Both malls have movie theaters - while I love Landmark, I actually give the nod to AMC Castleton here. Castleton is still a Simon mall. It continues to have major spots vacant including the front of the mall spot recently vacated by Forever 21. This is an older mall that still has sporadic issues with violence, a fairly strong IMPD presence, and a woeful lack of major draw retailers. JC Penney is still here despite rumors of bankruptcy, though the store itself is so dirty you'll likely need a tetanus shot when you leave. Von Maur is fine. You've got Macy's with a Starbucks in it, though Cath Coffee is local and has a kiosk in the mall (the old Starbucks). The food court still has a Chick-fil-A, a Luca Pizza, and a handful of others. McAlister's still has a spot with an exterior entrance. It looks like a Mexican joint has taken the old Johnny Rocket's spot that has seen several other restaurants quickly fail. I'd recommend coming in from East 82nd Street as streets are smoother. East 86th Street is getting some attention (finally), but you'll still likely need an alignment from driving it (if you go to Costco or Saraga you know this). Parking is typically abysmal here. People argue over ADA spots (Seriously, I was yelled at today for moving too slowly to vacate one). There's a tension in the mall that seems palpable and I actually felt a sense of relief when I left. My favorite spots? The movie theater, of course. I do still like the McAlister's. I'm a fan of Earthbound Trading Company off the food court. I like FYE, Yankee Candle, and Spencer Gifts. There's a Native American goods shop that's pretty cool, as well. Four Seasons Florist is a nice spot and Grade A Tattoos has a place here. Boss Battle Games has a $15 entry and you can play all day. Lego still has a great and popular spot here. There's an exterior sign indicating Hobby Lobby is joining the mall soon - I think around the long vacant Sears spot. Accessibility is pretty decent here. Main doors are automatic. Accessible/ADA parking is plentiful (though frequently misused and nearly never enforced). The main accessible restrooms are near the food court. I'd still like to see this mall get a more practical retailer - Hobby Lobby may fill that need soon. I noticed today that there's almost an international marketplace vibe starting to happen here with a more diverse clientele and a few more indie shops noticed. Ultimately, I didn't really enjoy shopping here like I have in the past. I didn't hate it, but I didn't leave thinking "I can't wait to go back." Instead, I noticed the tension and I really felt like I'd much rather go to free-standing or open-air spots than be immersed in this tense, uncomfortable shopping experience. I'd probably go 2.5 if I could. I can't. 2 feels a little low and considering there's still some great shopping to be had here I'll stick with a 3-star rating with a slight disclaimer that Castleton Square sure seems like it's headed downhill.

I was shopping for outfits for an upcoming vacation, so I spent some time browsing the women's and juniors' sections, dresses, clearance racks, shoes, and accessories. One thing I like about this store is that they carry a little bit of everything, from clothing and shoes to beauty products, handbags, and other accessories. The store isn't very large, but they manage to fit a lot inside. Sadly, I didn't find anything that caught my eye this time, so I ended up leaving empty handed. Even so, the service was good. I was greeted when I walked in, and the checkout line looked like it was moving quickly and wasn't very long. This location is in the strip next to Trader Joe's on the north side of Indianapolis and shares a parking lot with the surrounding businesses, making it easy to get in and out. While I didn't score any deals on this visit, I'd still stop by again because you never know what bargains you'll find. They rotate stock frequently.

I like shopping here because they usually have a good selection of clothing at very reasonable prices. This location is two stories, although I don't think there's much on the second floor. The women's/junior section is on the first floor, off to the right when you walk in. I like that they have a section dedicated just to dresses, which made my search a little easier. It's organized by sizes which helps, but sometimes I still look through other sizes as things get placed all around. I spent some time looking through the racks and finally found the perfect dress for my graduation. Not only was it exactly what I was looking for, but it was only $13! You really can't beat getting a whole dress for that price. The women's shoe section is right near the dresses, so I stopped there to complete my outfit. Luckily, I found a cute pair of shoes to match for less than $20. You may have to spend a little time searching through the racks, but in my experience it's usually worth it. Burlington is a great place to find stylish pieces without breaking the bank. The checkout line moved quickly, which was another plus.
