I have been coming here for 20 yrs and it's a hidden gem .. not large but packed with incredible finds the displays are thoughtfully done. Living in Mission Viejo you can either go to the Home Goods on El Toro or this one in Ladera.. personally I prefer this one in Ladera.. everything is laid out just a bit better with aisles easier to navigate and easier to find stuff. They have a great selection of olive oil, snacks, hard to find seasonings etc... and if you are still looking for that animal as a planter, that animal as a serving dish or that frog on top of Santa's sleigh then this is the place for you.. great white elephant gifts here.. read more

I had a terrible experience at this homegoods.. extremely messy, rude service from everyone except one super nice kind young lady in her 20s. my grandson who is on the spectrum was misunderstood and insulted by a middle aged women and when I asked to speak with a manager they brought out this woman named Victoria who was very rude and condescending, she insulted my intelligence multiple times, stating how if I thought they where being rude to my grandson then I was an idiot. Very great way of handling business Victoria, we will not be back ever again. I wish you good luck in your miserable life and maybe you should think about changing your haircut. read more

We had a very upsetting experience at this store. While waiting in the furniture area with my family as my sister continued shopping, we were being watched closely as if we were doing something wrong. At checkout, we were made to feel like we had switched prices on clearance items--an unfair and baseless assumption. The manager & cashier were rude and unprofessional throughout the interaction. Woman with short grey hair was VERY unpleasant. She was sarcastic, saying, there's a reason that barrier is there." There was no one in line and she wanted me to go around where there were about 10 customers blocking my way.... Think about that... I was trying to get in line to make a purchase. The correct action would have been for her to help me get into the line by moving the barrier temporarily, as it was not there for any purpose at that moment. no one was in line. read more

What can I say about this particular Home Goods in Ladera Ranch? I went here for the first time at this location, today. The place is a mess, but a fun mess! Kinda like a treasure hunt for whatever your fancy is. I was looking for Thanksgiving decor and table linens, and they had it. I had to really look for it, and I found a small selection. I did get what I was looking for, and their low prices can't be beat. My suggestion for any holiday decor you're looking for, go early in the season for the best selection. Like right now, there is ample selection on Christmas decor and gifts available. Get them quick, before they are gone. Good thing, I went for my Thanksgiving supplies. As I said, the store is a mess, but it's all controlled in sections. You'll find great stuff, if you really really look. And as for the customer service, the lady at the cashier was helpful and funny! She made me laugh, which made my day. Overall, my experience was positive. Go early in the morning at opening, it can get crowded later. This place is a bargain shopper's paradise, and I can see why this place is popular. Highly recommended!!! read more

What a great store! It's a great store always clean and has lots of goodies . If your having to buy a gift for someone and don't know what to buy , come here you will find something from a nice comfy throw to holiday decorations to something in the wine or Martini area or imported area . They carry beautiful rugs , lovely down throw pillows for a great price, all bedding , wall decor , pet supplies and of course little ones toys and a few pieces of furniture for both kiddos and the home . They don't call it HomeGoods for nothing - now they have their own CC where you can earn $10.00 for every $200 you spend , oh no I'm in trouble . I hit $125 yesterday, too easy after marking off two people's Xmas gifts and couple down holiday pillows for myself . It was a great shopping therapy day !! read more

Love this store as they have all sorts of treasures for gifts, home, office, pets, etc however this is a shout of to Victoria, manager on duty today, as she's not only personable & professional but truly takes the time to make your shopping experience a good one. I shop here a lot & she even taught me how to have receipts sent to my email so I never lose them, suggested always doing gift receipts for gifts so recipient can easily exchange an item & also shared how their credit card offer allows you to save big. I love this store... I prefer it over the El Toro location. Prices on certain items can be a little hefty, but you can also find some really great deals on marked down items. The store is clean, and the staff is friendly. I dont recall seeing any staff on the floor for questions, but they are friendly at the cash registers and generally move the line pretty quickly. The women working here have some sort of entitlement. Tried to exchange something and the manager was just so rude about it. It was a mug that was cracked so I just wanted to exchange it for a good one (tags still on it and I had receipt, barely even taken out of the bag) she told me she could not exchange it because it was cracked. So upset. I couldn't grab a cart because I had my stroller. I was holding two large picture frames and decided to ask the cashier if I could place them in the front while I shopped. I said excuse me and the cashier looked at me said excuse you and resumed her conversation with a customer. Mind you my baby is crying as well because he wants me to hold him. The customer finally stops her and says she just wants to place the frames down. The cashier said "I know but I'm ringing you up." I placed the frames down and left the store in tears. My Mom & I visited the Ladera Ranch, CA store last week & had a wonderful experience being assisted by an Associate named Afar. We both have never had such a fantastic experience with an employee - anywhere. Afar went out of her way assisting us looking at chairs. She helped us move numerous chairs (which were heavy) so that we could find just the right ones. The Ladera Ranch Homegoods was recommended to me by a colleague and after complaining about how far it was, I finally decided to trek on down there one weekend. It's at the inland end of Crown Valley Parkway and the plaza feels strangely empty, even on a weekend. Because of its location near the mountains/hills and the design, it feels like you're in a shopping plaza in Arizona or something. It has that same look and feel. Anyway, it's near a Staples and a Dick's Sporting Goods. What I love about this Homegoods is that everything is neat, well-organized and they seem to have a better selection than other locations. I spend quite a bit of time in HomeGoods stores while on the hunt for Rae Dunn pottery, so I feel like I am becoming an expert in what to expect. Most HomeGoods have a similar set up, and very clear signage hanging overhead that will direct me to the Gourmet Kitchen/Dining areas. This store is no different, but I noticed this location seems to be kept particularly clean and well organized. I just returned from a three week stay in South Orange County and visited this store 3-4 times during my stay. You never know when they are going to get a new shipment in, you know. My persistence paid off as I was able to purchase 4 of the Rae Dunn Large Letter Canisters. If you are a fellow Dunnie, you know what an amazing find that was. Of course, HomeGoods has a great selection of dinnerware and gourmet kitchen gadgets from pots and pans to gourmet food goodies, but carries A LOT more, too. Looking for decor items for every room in the house? You can find them here. How about office items and a wide variety of attractive storage containers? Yep, they've got them. Outside Furniture for everything from an elegant garden party to a casual barbecue? Oh yeah. Everything from throw pillows to bird houses to lamps to gourmet food items. There is a little something for everyone here. Seriously, not only do they have a good selection but the prices are good, too. Really good. As far as selection goes, this location is really great. Maybe it's because the location is more remote but there's usually a good variety of nice items and it's usually not picked over by the end of the day or the weekend. However, we recently had a terrible experience here which has significantly soured our impression of this store. We were looking to purchase two geodes, one of which had a tag and one of which didn't. The cashier questioned the price on it saying she remembered these as costing more. The tag rang up as an 8lb geode which is what it was. She called over a manager on duty who brought up another geode that was smaller but heavier that also rung up as an 8lb geode at $29.99. At this point, they basically implied we switched tags to get a lower price and insisted on charging us $49.99 (which is what the cashier "claims" she remembered the pricing being) for each. We paid the $49.99 each since we really wanted them regardless of the price, but we are offended by the principle of the whole thing. I find this customer service to be appalling at best. I'm sure they do get customers that engage in switching tags but the item description matches our item. What is the likelihood we can find another 8lb geode to pull the tag off of? Mind you, the tag was pristine with no signs of tampering. Essentially, this store engaged in a bait and switch by charging us more at the register than what the tag stated. I can't also help but be concerned at the implication that we are committing fraud and engaging in criminal behavior. Perhaps it's because we are of minority descent that their customer service staff decided that we must be guilty of fraudulent behavior. It is unacceptable to engage in bait and switch behavior and to automatically assume a customer is engaging in fraudulent behavior, especially when they show no signs of doing so. The item rang up correctly and I'm sure if we could procure a scale, the item would've matched the description that came up in the system. Instead, we are basing the price off of what a single cashier "thought" she saw it as. What is even the point of having price tags if their cashiers can freely charge more than what is tagged based on what they supposedly recall the price as? Do they seriously remember the price of everything in there? I mean they sell a huge variety of things that costs anywhere from $3 to $1500; this isn't like a farmer's market stall. We shop at this location frequently (often weekly) and we spend quite a bit here in all departments. It is disappointing to know this is how loyal customers are treated. read more

Worst customer service ever! The manager and a cashier literally acted beyond annoyed because I had 28 items to ring up.

I'm really upset at how I was treated last night. while at the register I had asked the cashier if he would provide me a discount because my tray was scratched and had chipped paint in multiple places- if you shop here frequently you would know that HG honors this for damaged products. He was kind and agreed it was and said he needed to ask his manager- I said sure no worries. Moments later, very near & ear shot away a manager woman looks back at me and yells very loud "are you kidding me? For this?! Wow THESE PEOPLE are something else!! JEEEZ followed by loud obnoxious sighing. Hmm.. if you're not a "Kathy or jan" Like me- I'm pretty sure you would know what was being implied or how I felt being stared at by the treatment. I was highly embarrassed and upset that she treated me that way. It was so rude and unkind. She should not be in a position to lead with that character. read more

Tonight I was shopping with my three little children at this store and purchased about $200 worth of items and as we were leaving I noticed a patio table and chairs displayed outside of the store. I decided to buy it so I untied the ticket and proceeded to the register to purchase as it was a huge heavy set. The salesperson who appeared to be a manager named Tamara, reprimanded me for removing the ticket and said " that's not the way we do it" she was shaking her head in disgust and treating me in front of my 3 small children like I was a criminal. I was spending over $450 on this set. She said That will be $450 not even looking at me. I said to her, you know that I don't work here I did not know the exact way to do this but I just wanted to purchase this item. She again unapologetically began to tell me how I was not supposed to do that in a disgusted way. Love the location of this store as we don't have a ton of shopping options in Ladera. However, this store either needs to move into a larger space or scale back on inventory being sent to the store. Shopping today, 10/30 there was hardly any space to walk through aisles and all the aisles were jammed packed with products, and falling onto the floor. There were carts all over the store full of shipment adding to the chaos. The employees were friendly as they usually are, but I'll take a break from shopping here until after the holidays where it's less stressful and easier (hopefully) to browse through the aisles. read more

This is one of my least favorite Homegoods locations. I used to live in N. OC so compare most stores to the amazing Yorba Linda location. This one in Ladera is definitely not up to par. It is small, and a HUGE amount of product is out-right broken (not just a chip here and there). The selection is minimal, especially when it comes to their wall art. For being in such a nice location, I expected a way better selection of Le Creuset, which you can find on any day in Yorba Linda. I understand this is a bargain store, but I know Homegoods can do better. read more
