If you don't expect 5 star service and A+ selection, you should actually enjoy a trip to Homegoods. My best way to explain this store is like a swap meet of brand new goods for the home that might not be at the top of your shopping list but you still might wanna buy at the right price. Rugs, furniture, candles, pillows art, lamps, garden junk, bedding, towels and more, they've got it all covered. Most of it being decent quality too. SO, if you're a shopping snob, you'll hate it. Don't even go in. And definitely don't ask for help if you do go in. You'll just make it worse. Remember, it's not Nordstrom.... But if you enjoy digging through hokey items like winged pig statues or gadgety useless kitchen items to find one good buy, you'll be happy with Homegoods and come out with something decent for cheap. I came here last night on the recommendation of a friend. I walked in and I felt like the heavens were shining down on me, singing. It was a beautiful and clean store set up. Someone mentioned that the staff weren't too polite and not to ask them for help. I didn't anticipate needing anything and I didn't. I did notice when an employee would walk by they kind of stare through you, which is odd, instead of just smiling. Anyhow, I spent probably an hour here just cruising around the store, picking up a few items. Most things are in some kind of an order, in terms of pet stuff is with all other pet stuff. There are a few random end caps... Like pet stuff over by the bedding and baskets. But whatever. I walked out with about $35 damage and the knowledge that this may have just become my new favorite store to buy random crap for my house! Oh and Christmas White Elephant gift exchange at work... We went in the store looking for new decor to put in our FIRST HOME (that we just signed escrow papers for YAY!! And we noticed we had a little extra down payment $$ saved to do some shopping for the house) So we wanted to see what we needed. Literally, from the moment we walked in, we had a young girl with glasses and long brown hair in a pony tail follow us throughout the store!!! I used to work in management for retail and I KNOW how to advise my associates how to DISCREETLY follow what they thought were shoplifters. But come on!! This girl kept dropping the sh!t she was trying to straighten, all the while keeping an eye on us!! Very off putting when you feel like you are being watched for possible thievery. AND another thing, 90% of the items in the goshdamn store - you CAN'T walk out the door with without being noticed. Let alone by someone who barely clears 5ft. It all would have been made better IF she had come up to us to ask if we needed help finding anything (since yes, this was our first time in the store, we may have looked a little overwhelmed and lost) BUT WE WILL NOT BE SHOPPING HERE FOR OUR HOME GOODS!! Maybe the girl should have focused more on actually cleaning and straightening since the store was in shambles (worse than Ross) AND there was a thick, 4ft long wooden plane propeller laying in the middle of the chairs (the side with the rugs) that I almost tripped over. Great deals. Clean, Mostly current stuff on floor. I personally like some of their food goods (I know, food from a decor store?) But each special season or holiday, they bring in these Fudge Covered Oreo Cookies that are to die for. You can find them in a clear tube or tray wrapped in colorful foils. They also have GREAT pet products. Our dog chews his beds and usually goes through one every two months. However, this bed I paid for last time was $79 and was more like a piece of furniture. The cushion has survived his digging for over a year now. Best purchase yet. read more

It was very far from Irvine where i lived, but it was worthy to drive down there. one of my client bought some of the items such as vase, pictures, lamp for my office from this location. I am pretty sure the items are diffrent btw irvine and ladena ranch. Even for my i pad cover, this location has more selection. I love this place! read more

I am an interior designer and I shop at this Homegoods store very often. I find the best "treasures" here and although I shop at other Homegoods locations this one is my favorite. Not only it's close to where I live, but the staff is always ready to help and always with a smile. They do their best to keep the store very clean and organized in spite of some customers who wouldn't be bothered to pick up that pillow that they pushed off a shelf (I see it all the time). If you enter the store in the AM everything is where it needs to be. I see the employees through the store always cleaning and stocking shelves, moving things where they belong. Great selection of items, anything from kitchen, bathroom, accessories to big furniture items and rugs. This is a designers dream when it comes to shopping on a small budget for a client. Needless to say, Homegoods is my home away from home :) ... and this location is wonderful! Kuddos to the employees at this location. read more

I always love Homegoods for special little nicknacks. I do have a problem with all the dmaged goods there are there though! I wanted to find a wall clock and had to rummage through at least 12 of them in order to find one that wasn't nicked or cracked. I do feel that the Ladera one really is kept together the best from all the other local Homegoods out there. I am a fan, but I just hope there quality isn't going down! read more

I love this store! Great prices and great finds! The Best part of the shopping is the customer service! The employees are so nice and always have a smile on there face! Love it! It's the cleanest and most organized Home Goods I have ever been to, love this place! I went to go check out and Maria helped me tonight and was very friendly! Damn you Homegoods, why must you be within driving distance? Like Target, I get to the checkout and without realizing it, I drop $100+ like money ain't a thang! It's not your ordinary home goods store. You will find great bargain basement deals on anything from bedsheets to cooking utensils, to rugs and even lamps. Although I loathe Homegoods, I still go to check out the neat trinkets they have for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and especially Xmas. And as a bonus, if you come on a Friday or Saturday night, you'll find many South County cougars lurking, if that's your sort of thing. read more

I love this store, I always find great things here for my home, and also great gifts!! I had a few people left on my shopping list to buy for this Christmas and luckily because of the wide variety of items at home goods I was able to find gifts for all of them. You can find cheap things all the way up to high end pieces. Every time I browse the aisles I'm inspired to completely redecorate my home! I've purchased tons of home decor here, as well as photo frames, bedding, curtains, linens, and pet stuff. They have a pet section, kid section, bedding, furniture,bath, home organization, kitchen, holiday, photo frames, lighting, and a few other sections. If you see something you like here I recommend buying it because there is a chance that it's the only one and won't be there tomorrow! Sometimes they have a long line at check out but it's a lot better than the Homegoods location off of el toro. I prefer this location to that one because the Ladera store is way more organized and less congested it feels like. As long as they keep restocking the shelves (they do all the time) I will keep coming here. read more

The store itself has a great selection but the staff is awful. After an hour of waiting in the line the cashier "Matt" dropped his gum on my new pillows. After this all I needed was a little help to bring my new stuff to my car and when Matt was helping me he broke my Rae Dunn plates. And he hit someone's car on his cart duty. Overall I would recommend going a few extra miles to go to the Aliso Viejo location to avoid the horrible staff. read more

I used to shop at the one up in Seal Beach but have since moved back down to Mission Viejo. Wow!! I love this store,the work that must go into displaying all of this merchandise is amazing. I went into the Ladera ranch store with my daughter, she had to return a carpet she bought at the Aliso Viejo store. The Aliso Viejo store was a mess hard to shop. I was not looking forward to going to the Ladera Ranch store for that reason.I was very pleased with the sales associates a lot of different people were helping us.I noticed one person working so hard bringing new merchandise out of the back, and asking everyone she saw if they were being helped.I made a comment to our salesperson who informed me that was the manager. We spent more than the carpet we returned, and were very happy. read more

There is a guy who is very nice when I shop but I do not see him often his name Is Michael he has helped me many times and always goes out of his way . Although he has a back injury he was able to slide a small bench onto a cart for me and push it to the front when no one else would help, I offered him a tip but he said it was not aloud . I'm a collector of weird garden sculptures, candles and things of that nature. That's why i was ecstatic to know there's a Home Goods in my town. I went down there with a buddy of mine and checked out what they had in stock. Some VERY neat stuff! Not only did they have stone owl heads and porcelain mushroom garden ornaments but they had amazing tea sets for great prices. I was even able to pick out a mothers day gift for my mom, for a measly 6 bucks i'd say a set of candles in wrapping silk is pretty great. Definitely a favorite store even if it's just for browsing! read more

The goods are always worth a treasure hunt, but the staff leaves much to be desired. I realized I had left my card home, so I had my husband email it to me and I asked the cashier if I could use the copy and my ID to purchase. When I was told yes, I filled (over-filled) a cart and went to stand in line to check out. After I again told the clerk how I needed to pay, she rang it all up. After, she said she had to get a manager's approval. After waiting over 10 minutes for a manager, an assistant came over and said NO, they could not do that. No apology offered. The time before I was there, I bought an over-loaded cart full and no one ever offered to help me get it to the car, even though things were falling all over. Then, when I arrived home, I discovered one item was missing. I called the store to ask them if it was there (a large chalk board would have been easy to spot), I was told no. Again, no apology. I will be shopping the San Clemente store from now on, as they have helpful people who at least appear to care about the customers. read more

I generally really like Homegoods. They have a good selection at good prices. Having said that, I think this one is sub-par. Their customer service isn't great, they never seem happy to help or even be there. The last time I went there I found 2 identical sets of silverware but at different prices. When I took them to the front to ask why and see if I could get both sets for the lower price I was told it was because they came from different lots and that they would not honor the lower price for both. I didn't purchase the silverware or anything else that day because I thought between the practice and the manager's attitude about it they didn't deserve my business. I won't be back to this Homegoods and I think twice before purchasing anything at other Homegoods locations because I feel like I have to check their entire stock on a particular item to make sure I'm not getting ripped-off because there's one somewhere in the store at a lower price because it "came from a different lot." read more

I am a huge fan of the home goods chain and have spent a good chunk of change here over the years, however, I cringe inside when I need to visit this location in Ladera ranch. I thought this was a One time experience however after several Visits and the same opinion I felt compelled to share this information. It's clear that the manager, chunky brunette hares life and passes this onto her employees. I have been given grief for returning items and paying cash leading them to have to empty there drawer for the $200 refund, been told maybe I should go back to the store I bought it from ( I.e. Another homegoods location). Whenever I return an item with original sticker and receipt I get grief. In addition while shopping I've overheard employees complaining about each others attitude problems loud enough for customers to hear.. All in all I would not recommend visiting this store which is sad as it's in my own backyard! read more

I'm giving this Home Goods 4-stars. I've deducted 1-star for their late opening hour on Sunday (11am!). Many of us like to get up, run errands and be home by 10am to enjoy the day. Because of my work schedule, Sundays are my only available day so the hours are a downer. Also, as many have said, the staff that wanders the floor seem less than happy to be there. However, some of the women at check-out have been there for years and are always friendly. =0) In the years I've shopped here I think I've only walked out empty handed once! They always have something! The only downside of this store are the Sunday opening hour and the fact that they are ALWAYS rearranging the store! Often times I'll run in to grab something for my pups and then I have to search for where they moved the pet dept to. Other than that...clean store (with exception to dirty patrons who leave their trash on shelves or in carts! Shame shame shame!), kind people at checkout and always an adventure! read more

19 people on line and 1 cashier! The manager is on the phone with her back to the customers, right next to the cash register for the entire time I waited in line (and remember there were 18 people in front of me). When I asked why she wasnt helping with all of these customers I was told that the manager is NOT ALLOWED TO WORK THE REGISTER! Mind you, I watched four or more other employees load up "go backs" from behind the registers to take those back to their appropriate shelves. True, the store is very tidy, but who wants to wait that long to pay? I saw several customers just put their stuff down and leave. Maybe that's why they have so many go backs. read more

Shelves are well stocked and well organized. I am never disappointed when I shop here. Large parking lot, always ample parking. They have a quick turn over in merchandise. If you see it, get it, don't wait, because it won't be there the next day. Great selection of bakeware at super discounted prices. Girls at the register are always polite and friendly. read more

Always there to show me where items are and recently when I had a return, the manager, Stephanie was completely helpful and courteous - she would be the type of manager I'd like my kids to work for. I'm a big fan of this brand, I do prefer the Aliso location better, it doesn't feel claustrophobic like Ladera. The service at both locations has always been good and I just love their selection on decor. The only critique I have is they need to delegate their staff better. The first time I stepped into this store I was surprised by how nice the merchandise was. Though it is similar to Marshalls or TJ Maxx the merchandise here seems to be of a superior quality. As in the items are not irregular or defective markdowns which is what I usually find at my Marshalls. ANYTHING you need for your home is here and its reasonably priced. The reason I did not give this location 5 stars is because the shelves are often a bit messy and disorganized, which makes it harder to find what I am looking for at times. If you like to cook this store has some of the best deals on pans and other kitchen goodies. I was able to snag some great Microfiber sheets for a steal. I saw them at Macy's a week later for $20 more. I love this store for the bargains alone. The customer service can be lacking at times. So patience is a must because if you need something like a stock check you may have to wait. Overall this is a good store. read more
