Clothes are always so cute, and stylish. I feel like they always have a sale going on so the prices are good for the quality and look of the clothes. I just wished that Mission Mall could price match with the prices online because they have great customer service and it's fun to shop in-person. This store is overpriced for the quality! We just had our daughter's first birthday and she was gifted many outfits from this store. A couple of them were too small so we went to exchange. Our relative who purchased the gift lives out of state and we were not given a receipt. The employees in the store very rudely told me there is nothing they can do without a receipt. It is clear these clothes have never been worn with tags still attached. I guess over $200 is getting flushed down the drain. read more

This is the best baby/toddler clothing store by far. The quality of their product is superior to any of their kind. I repeatedly buy my daughter's elegant dresses and outfits in this store for special occasions such as birthdays and any elegant reunion. The shoes are the best quality for your little walker. They provide support, comfort and balance to your little one. I discovered this gem through a family friend after she gave us a present for our daughter from this store and since that day the rest is history. I am so sad to write this review, but it's been on my heart for a while now. The quality of this store has gone downhill. (1.) I was not greeted when I walked into the store (2.) When my older daughter was trying on clothes, my younger daughter saw a dead roach under the bench in the dressing room (gag) (3.) When I told the girl at the counter about the roach it was like no big deal to her. I was an Account manager for a luxury retailer for the Los Angeles area, and let me tell you!! the employees would NEVER have acted this way when told their was a roach. There would be an apology and maybe a little expression of disgust?! (4.) When I checked out, my items were no longer wrapped in the special paper that it used to be wrapped in and I just did not receive the customer service that once existed for Janie and Jack. I understand that Gap purchased this store a few years back and that people in California don't want to work anymore because they are so "scared" of Covid they want to stay home and receive unemployment, but honestly if the quality of who they hire and how they will do business in store is going to be like this then they need to change their pricing to match their sister location... OLD NAVY!!!!! That is where I felt like I was shopping by the laissez-faire attitude and the disgusting floors. We have spent thousands upon thousands at this store and we still get treated like garbage. They asked us if we wanted to look at the sale items since it was cheaper for our kind. Not to mention Jamie the formerly assistant manager who ignored us thinking we couldn't be able to afford anything. The problem inside the store doesn't stop there. It continues as you make a complaint to the corporate office of J&J. They have return my calls saying that they didn't see any problems with how oriental customers were being treated. Racism at its best! As time went by...... They finally closed down this heap of discriminating garbage store after so many non racist customers started to refuse to shop here again. We went in a few nights ago and I would say that they have a good amount of sale items. But the items in store that were on 'sale' were more than they were online so I ask if they price match, and the manager said they don't. Still confused as to why they don't price match from there actual website- I go to another J&J store, and what do you know.. they price match, at all stores. Not sure why she LIED?? Maybe bc I don't look like the typical customer who shops at J&J and shame on me for asking for the cheaper price that's online?!? . Having a newborn, you quickly learn that all sizes are not consistent amongst stores. I love the style of the clothes at Janie and Jack. They are cute, preppy and durable. I like the sale section but that can be hit or miss. The biggest problem I have here is to be selective, as I could buy the whole store. There are clothes for all occasions and I find their designs to be super cute. The prices can be a little out of reach but sometimes it's nice to splurge on my little one. I tend to purchase either online or when there is a 20%+ off sale. read more

Jaqueline, the manager at Janie and Jack of Mission Viejo Mall, was excellent helping me find the clothes in the size my daughter needed. My daughter is 12 and Janie and Jack sells all their designs in that size as well, just not in the actual store. She did a lot of work hunting down these items for me, most of which were on clearance so they were not really available anymore except a pink sweater which is the thing we wanted most so we were happy she found it for us! She located it at another store and allowed me to purchase on the phone in the store from the other location. Thank you for your great customer service that day! The new location in the mall is beautiful, so happy they revamped the store since the old was was really really run down and not looking good anymore. This one is gorgeous. read more

J and J is a wonderful store! The shop itself is adorable, and the staffers here are all very nice. Their baby accessories and clothes look like their made from quality materials and feel great :-) This is a fabulous place to get baby presents. Once they're wrapped, the boxes and the shopping bags look expensive and are super pretty, but I can generally get by with spending no more than twenty five bucks! Of course, to bring gifts off that cheap, you can't get whole outfits; you'll need to stick to accessories and separates. read more

I've been in to this store twice now and both times I have received great customer service. I couldn't find my daughter's size in a few items and not only did the woman working search the entire store, she offered to call the fashion island location and locate the sizes I needed. The clothes are high quality and the sizing runs a little large, but great for growing kids. They seem to have a lot of sales and discounts often. If you sign up for emails you can also find out when all the sales are going on. Also if you order online you can do returns in store. read more

I've passed by this store every time I've visited The Shops, and now that I have a reason to go in, I'm so excited! I met Kelly upon entering, and she simply explained how the store is set up and some background on the brand. This made my shopping experience so much more enjoyable and easier being a first-time mom-to-be! The quality of the clothing is superb. It's so soft and the classic looks are amazing. I had the same experience as Paris did. The lady's name is Kathryne and she yanked a dress away from a little girl that was putting them in the wrong place and told her, "this doesn't go here!" She also threw my gift card on the counter after I paid instead of handing it back to me. Terrible experience although I love their clothes. I went to the Mission Viejo location to return a few items that I'd bought online. I was shocked! There was an aged lady with dark hair and Persian accent who started to shout at me that why I didn't use the UPS label to return. She said they prefer that people go there for purchasing and not for returning! There were two other ladies who were friendly and they helped me but I felt so embarrassed when I left the shop that I decided to write my complain here. The older Caucasian lady and younger Caucasian lady were very rude. One of them was named Carol from the receipt. They were perfectly cordial to the other Caucasian customers but to me and my mom, they were horrible. Insulting to my mom for not being able to speak English well. Ugh. Disgusting. Looking at some other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one discriminated on for being Asian. Also they were scoffing at my 11month old daughter who was exploring the store and touching all the dog themed clothes. If you don't appreciate children's curious nature I wonder if you should work in a children's clothing store at all. Lastly, I bought a few items for two different parties. I asked for two bags but they said they were running out so they only gave one. That is utter crap. Even if you are running out they should give as many as a customer desires especially if it's going to two different parties and we are a paying customer. Horrible customer service on all fronts. This store is lucky it's not in the middle of more diverse neighborhood otherwise they wouldn't last. I hope everyone stops going to these racists. I've been shopping there for over a year now and I love this store. The clothes are super cute and they are always getting new stuff in all the time and their discounted section is even filled with newer stuff that's great for the current season. The sales staff I find are amazing. They remember who we are and I have never not been greeted when coming in and they often help me make cute outfits quickly since they know I have limited time there with my daughter. They also never mind when she starts making a little mess in the store either. It's my favorite place to shop for her and I find the prices more in the middle range, not too expensive but not cheap either. I have read the other reviews in the past and maybe they've made changes to the staff since then, but I have only had wonderful experiences there and I do tell all friends with kids to go! read more

I went into the store looking for nice shorts and a button down shirt for my son for our family photo shoot at the beach. The first time around no one acknowledged our presence, so we left and went elsewhere. I went back because I saw a couple of shirts that might work. The service I got was laughable at best. I found two shirts and had to flag down the sales clerk to help me (she was standing behind the counter doing absolutely nothing). I then asked if they had any shorts left since we were doing a beach shoot. She had the nerve to tell me I should try their sister stores since they were less expensive. I was advised that this was a boutique store. Umm...as we say in the south, "bless her heart". I am a corporate attorney and make more money than she could ever dream about making. My jeans and tee shirt must not have met her standards. Or maybe it was my beautiful half Egyptian son. Jokes on you honey. I got what I needed, but would have spent a lot more had the service been better. Never judge a book by its cover. It appears you all have a discrimination problem.
