I've never had a bad experience at the Port Chester home goods location. I usually go a few times a year and I always walk out with something. The staff always seem so friendly and helpful whenever I need assistance. The best time to go is during the holidays they always have gifts under $20 that are very good quality. HomeGoods - Department Stores Near Me - Port Chester, New York

We had some issues with a delivery that was scheduled this past weekend for a painting we had purchased. Everything was set up and it was to be delivered that evening. I even got an email confirmation. No one showed up. When I tried to contact the delivery company to find out if they were late or anything I was left on hold for over 30 min with no one answering. I sent an email as well. No answer until Monday morning for which I received a response that the email I was given to contact was in fact, incorrect. My husband went to the store to get a refund as no one could tell us where our item was or when it would be delivered and then because he paid Apple Pay, they said the cards didn't match. It was his card. He had to make two round trips to get a refund when he should have been asked to just insert his card he paid with to get a refund. Not only that, nothing was done to rectify the situation. No one ever responded to find out why we didn't receive our delivery until Monday morning someone finally called me after we spent the afternoon Sunday trying to cancel and get a refund. The whole situation was a disaster. It's a shame as we have loved shopping at HomeGoods but after this disaster and a huge waste of our time (between wasting our time waiting for a delivery that never came and no one to get in contact with, to the mistake made at cashwrap where we had to return twice when we should have only had to go in once), I don't think I'll go back. Don't get delivery from this place. Nothing was done to even care about our experience either. Such a waste of my time from start to finish. read more

HomeGoods is one of my favorite stores on earth and this is a good location. They have a friendly staff and tons of decor and essentials. Whenever I have some time to kill I always pop my head in and see what new stuff has arrived. This location is in the busiest strip mall in Port Chester so there is a constant flow customers in and out. The only reason I didnt give this particular location 5 stars is because the food/spice section is bare in alot of areas. My wife lovesss to cook and has a food blog so being creative in the kitchen is very important to her. Sometimes its alittle discouraging coming in for new additions for our kitchen and seeing empty aisles. But again, this place is always booming with business so im not shocked that they are constantly cleaned out of certain things. Other than that this is my spot to get stuff for my pets, carpets, bathroom supplies, and other odds and ends at super cheap prices. read more

Homegoods is one of my all time favorite home decorating stores and this location is no exception. I frequent all of the local Homegoods when looking for items for my home. I find that each store can have unique items. This location carries a vast selection of lamps and is usually one of my first stops when looking for a new lamp. I have luckily been able to find not only lamps but wall art and kitchen wares as well. read more

There seemed to be a lot more *stuff* in this Homegoods than in other stores I've been to. This is normally a good thing but some aisles were more narrow to fit in all that extra stuff. If someone is in an aisle with a pushcart, there really isn't that much room to manuver around them. (I annoyingly encountered the same woman in way too many aisles, who was purposely and blissfully oblivious to how much room she was taking up and would continue to park her cart in the center of the aisle of eevery aisle I encountered her in) Another complaint is that price tags were missing from a few items that I looked at! I'd guess that 3/20 items that I looked at were missing price tags. That's a small percentage but c'mon, price tags belong on items at a store like this! I'm not going to go up to the cashier and have them willy nilly make up a price on the spot. read more

They have really improved the organization and keep the store fully stocked recently. Home Goods is one of my favorite places to shop at.

Curious as to why I was not granted a discount on a candle that was completely defaced as it was scratched and had gunk all throughout the front of it. Very interesting to me, the manager was right there to view the candle and me. If you're going to sell damaged products, do not expect customers to pay full price. Guarantee it will be half off the minute I left the store. read more

I love this store and spend way too much money here so it's a little upsetting when I literally rushed here from home 30 minutes before closing only to be greeted by annoyed attitudes and dim lighting ! Like I get it you want to go home and I was literally zooming through the aisles but it's not a good feeling when you start turning off the lights whilst customers are still shopping and then at check out you move so hurriedly that you don't use any of the common courtesies ugh... read more

When I walked into Homesgoods I was in for a treat. Matthew Grose is the best employee hands down. Very helpful and respectful. As we struck up a conversation, he had mentioned his wages and I was in awe. This brilliant young man deserves a raise as he is trying to pay for college and future life ventures. read more

Sadly, this is my first review ever on Yelp. I felt so horrified that I am compelled to write this. I have been a regular customer of HomeGoods for years, and have never been disappointed by quality of the merchandise or the friendliness of the staff. Until now. I have NEVER been treated as rudely by a manager in my entire life. I just got back from the HomeGoods in Port Chester, N.Y. July 18, 2018. I was there from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. looking for a down-alternative comforter for our new home. The one I was interested in was gray and had a textured pattern on it and was 100% cotton in a cute cotton tote bag with two ties on top. One of the queen totes was opened so I took the comforter out to look at it, carefully opening it over my shopping cart. I was planning on purchasing it ($69) when the MANAGER, MARK O., came over YELLING at me loudly enough that it got other customers' attention: "You can't do that! If you need help ask someone but you can't take it out!" I explained the tote was already opened and I was just trying to see what it looked like. He yelled at me that I COULDN'T do that -- that I ruined it! -- I was FLABBERGASTED by his tone of voice and his approach. I apologized and explained I was happy to put it back in its original condition (folded back up in the tote bag) when he YELLED AT ME AGAIN it was ruined -- I left it there and walked away. MARK yelled after me that "Now it's garbage. I have to throw it out!" MARK acted as though I took a scissors to it and shredded it into pieces. I literally just opened the comforter up over my shopping cart to look at the pattern. I have NEVER been so shocked by a shopping experience. I was so shaken up that I went to the front of the store to try to talk with someone. Imagine my horror when MARK came up to the front and started BERATING ME again, saying he "couldn't stand it when customers treat merchandise so poorly" -- He actually ARGUED LOUDLY with me in front of a line of patrons. I was, and continue to be, so shocked by his unprofessional behavior. This man needs serious reprimanding. When I said to him that I'd worked in retail and never encountered anyone who treated a customer like he was treating me, he YELLED at me, "YOU HAVE NOW!!!" I could see if I had torn or ripped or dropped a drink on it or something, but I only opened the comforter up!!!! I left the store and when I got to my car, tears were running down my face. NO ONE has the right to treat anyone else like that. Certainly not a manager to a customer. I am surprised HomeGoods would hire someone so aggressive toward customers. I'm guessing by his attitude that this isn't the first time Mark has attacked a customer. I hope it's his last. -MG read more

I was there the other night, and there was sweet young lady named Theresa. She was so kind and helpful. Compared to the other homegoods, like White Plains (that store has a lot of rude people). My car was damaged by a HomeGoods cart during a very windy day. Obviously HomeGoods does not want to pay for the damage and thinks that having someone picking up carts every hour is enough regardless of the weather. They did not even apologize. Because of the Bad Management and lack of consideration, I am giving a 1 Star review. read more
