I love the location and the merchandise in this store, but every woman working here needs an attitude adjustment ! Where is the management ? When help is needed they act put upon. I knew a furniture piece wouldn't fit in my car and a greyish/blond grouch with glasses and a scowl, scoffed and rolled her eyes at another associate when I suggested how to position it. The cashier was no better. Everyone encountered was awful. One woman was sitting on a step stool stocking shelves and complaining as she did so. Not a pleasant shopping experience. read more

I have shopped in this store countless times over the years and bought lots of wonderful, trendy trinkets, as well as some furniture and some essentials, too. Today, I asked an associate a simple question about the location of an item in the store. She could not be bothered to stop her task to help. She told me it was in the storage department but did not stop her task to show me specifically where. When I returned, and asked for help a second time, she ignored me when I said, "Excuse me," and then got angry, snotty and aggressive when I addressed her again. She must have realized how in the wrong she was because she then began following me! The manager on duty said she would address the situation, but I'm afraid I won't be back to shop in this store. I would rather drive a little further to a store where the staff are friendly, kind and helpful rather than nasty and disrespectful. My son and I went into this store to treat ourselves today--and left feeling sad and unwelcome. Home Goods--you lost a regular customer, today. I hope your staff can learn to leave their personal issues at the door and come in to work with positive attitudes in the future. read more

I had such an amazing experience at this Homegoods store. They have a great selection of fall decor and the aisles are clearly labeled with which way you're supposed to go. The man who rang up my order was super funny, and it was just an overall great shopping day. read more

Out of all the HomeGoods stores I've visited in the States (or HomeSense as it is called in Canada) this one had easily one of the best collections I've seen in furniture, mirrors, paintings and glassware. I'm beginning to think that HomeGoods collections are only as good as the neighborhoods they are in and because Old Saybrook is a very wealthy and progressive, liberal community, this one had exceptionally good stuff and I saw many people that day walking away with carloads of great furniture, chairs etc. My friend, who lives in Massachusetts is already planning on hiring a truck to go shopping here in the future because of all the goodies she saw here. read more

This is not Petco.Dogs for handicapped-such as seeing eye dogs are fine.I will not return to this store due to this policy.I am allergic to dogs-but they are not the customers.People are! This is a nicely sized Home Goods, with ample room for . . . well, home goods. Meaning there's enough room for a good selection of lamps on one end and kitchen knick knacks on the other side with lots of stuff in between. I've been hear about a dozen times over the last year and always found it to be well put together and the staff generally friendly. There are usually some folks easily accessible on the floor as well. As anyone knows who goes into any TJX Stores - it's truly hit or miss. You never know if you'll find what you are looking for or if you'll find something you never realized you needed. However, the selection is consistently varied and large enough to make it a worthwhile stop either when you are looking for something for your home or when you are just looking. read more

We love to stop at every Homegoods we can when we are road tripping or visiting new states so this one was on our list when we were visiting CT yesterday. First of all-- The plaza looks like the year 1992 and I love it. So win for nostalgia sake. This Homegoods was big, clean, organized. Had a really good clearance section. I ended up finding this really great candle that I own several of for 5 dollars- it's an artisan candle so typically on their official website they go for about 30 plus shipping. Got some things for the dog. Overall pretty great Homegoods, I'd check it out again. read more

Do NOT trust this store! Bought a big piece of furniture and scheduled to pick it up 2 days later and they SOLD it!! Absolutely unbelievable!! I will never trust this store or homegoods! They have absolutely no methods in place to prevent resale of items!! They also scammed me into signing up for their credit card since it was a large purchase. Luckily I was able to cancel that. Can you give a 'no star' review? Home Goods SUCKS! My wife was accidentally overcharged for napkins. She purchased 2 packages of 4 napkins. She was charged for 4 packages of 4 napkins. At the same time she purchased placemats and other items used for a table of eight people. When she returned home, she looked at the receipt and noticed the error. When she returned to the store in Old Saybrook Connecticut, they said that because she did not have the items (we never got them!!!) she could not get the measly $14 back they overcharged us! Its not about the money, Home Goods customer service stinks! Do not buy from Home Goods! Boycott TJX businesses! They stole money from my family and would not return it! read more
