As with all Homegoods, it's a hit or miss if you're going to find what you're looking for at this location. But, chances are you'll still end up finding something you 'need' and won't leave the store empty handed. But why the lower rating? The store's a mess. Clearly customers pick something up then decide they don't want it and leave it at the most convenient shelf for them. That means you really have to look all over the store for what you want because it could easily be sitting in the wrong department. Customers are also a pain. Blocking isles, making messes, and just being all around rude. I do like that they have 2 checkout counters, but I wish they kept things clear. If you've got a stroller or shopping cart, you're going to either have to zig and zag to get to your register and out the door, or just have to flat out move abandoned shopping carts all together. Why can't employees at least keep this area clear from clutter? read more

They have some great finds for cheap, but if time is money, you might want to skip this trip. I've shopped here a couple times, and the experience has been quite consistent: very slow customer service and typically only one cashier at the checkout line. Today, several customers (myself included) ended up leaving the line because it was so long and there was no additional staff in sight to help. I walked through most of the store, and I could safely conclude that there were only two staff members total on the floor -- one at the checkout line and one at the returns line (opposite ends of the store). The shop is also very messy, with lots of items on the floor and simply out of place. The disorganization and lack of service is enough reason to reconsider how much you could save on this shopping trip. I bought a knife set from the store which states that the knives should be included with the block but was missing I open the box it was only the block. Never thought people would steal or return a half product for the other buyer to get a product with missing parts which should be included. Thankfully they took it back and I was able to get a refund. My takeaway from that is always checking the inside box before purchasing anything. read more

The retail price was $600.00, however, the piece was priced at a discount price of $399.00. There were a few minuscule scratches so the store manager offered a 10% discount. If you're looking for parking but do not want to park in the Glendale Galleria/Americana parking lot, there's a parking structure right behind this location and you get 90 minutes free! I used to dislike coming in here because it was way too messy, unorganized, and just too much going on. I believe it's been about one or two years since I've been here and it has improved! There's still A LOT of items everywhere so when it gets crowded it kind of sucks especially when you and others have carts and are trying to squeeze into a tiny isle. With that being said, I've always liked HomeGoods because you can find everything at a cheaper price whether it is furniture, decorations, kitchen appliances, and much more! read more

Crappy area to shop in. I left the store with my cart full, took my cart down the curb trying to head to my car & the freekin cart wheels locked up! There I was, stuck in the street with my cart full & I cannot leave the cart to go back in & get help! I had to eventually jump on the back wheel rail, which lifted up the front wheels & roll a little at a time till I could get it back into the store to get help. A clerk was in the cart area so I told her the situation & could she help me, & asked what did I do wrong why the cart will not roll. She actually was nice & got something to unlock the wheels. She said I had to go STRAIGHT from the door to the parking row right in front of the store doors. My car was parked on the row to the left of that one. It has horrible getting my cart over to my car. If the area is so bad they have to lock the carts like that, who wants to shop there! I will NEVER go there again. read more

When I'm wasting time on the Internet, one of my favorite things to do is to go to design blogs where people post pictures of amazing things they've done to their homes. I especially like the ones where they have impressive before and after shots of makeovers done on a budget. One name I keep reading over and over is Homegoods, where people seem to hunt down amazing things at ridiculous prices. I finally decided to check it out for myself when I was in the area the other day. First of all, I went in with the right mindset. I wasn't looking for anything specific, just a good deal. That's really how you have to go into this place, or any discount shopping experience, really. When I first walked in, I was impressed by how clean and orderly everything was. I was expecting stuff piled haphazardly everywhere and giant bins of things to dig through, but it was actually quite neat and easy to navigate. Right away I found some gorgeous hand towels that were about the same price as the cheapy, thin towels I got from Target just the day before (sad). They also have some great deals on bedding, and I was able to find Ralph Lauren and DKNY sheet sets at half the listed price. There's also plenty of clearance stuff so you can take your chances and perhaps find something even cheaper! I had heard that Homegoods sometimes carried Le Creuset stuff so I was hoping to get lucky but no dice this time...just a ceramic casserole dish, no cast iron stuff. But they have some great kitchen brands there, like Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart, and lots of dishware to choose from. My favorite part was the home decor/knicknack area because it really felt like a treasure hunt. On one shelf you could find a butt-ugly Easter themed bowl and a super trendy set of Foo dog bookends sitting next to each other. I think I'll also be coming back here for a rug, as they seem to be a pretty good deal (the prices were similar to what I saw at Ikea for stuff that looked a lot less...Ikea.) When I was paying for my stuff, I noticed a gnarly brown stain on one of the towels. Luckily another one on the shelf was clean, but there were quite a few that had the same gross discoloration. I took it home and washed it so I could use it right away, and it's kind of coming apart already. OK, I guess this is what you expect from Homegoods? Maybe it's best to just stick to the brands you recognize? Whenever I go in to discount or thrift stores or to the flea market I always make a beeline to the home section, so this was heaven for me. I can't believe it took me so long to get into a Homegoods, but now I'm officially hooked! read more

We put a cabinet on hold and a manager named Tim or Tom, helped us. Later in the day we returned to the store with a truck to take the cabinet home. We walked in, saw the cabinet with our name on it, and decided to go pick up a couple items to buy with the cabinet. When we came back to the cashiers we saw our cabinet was gone. We asked around and everybody seemed to know absolutely nothing about it and never saw such a thing. We asked Tim/Tom about it, he just said "I don't remember anything like that. " And turned his back to us. We asked for another manager and we were told to speak to a woman without a name tag, she said her name was Tia (not sure about the spelling or if that's her actual name). She made a phone call and asked if anybody has seen a white cabinet, then told us nobody has seen anything. We asked if it was bought by someone else, or if it were taken back to the stockroom, because clearly it cant disappear. She said the cashiers have no idea. Then she said they had just changed shifts. All of them. All at once. An hour and a half before closing time. She insisted this was the case and that nobody knew anything about a white cabinet. Our elderly mother, who was not fluent in English began speaking to us in her mother tongue to understand what is going on, but she had Tia shove her hand in her face as a "be quiet" gesture. We asked her for her name and she gave it, "Tia!" and we informed her that this was very poor customer service and her response was to be defensive and say we are insulting her. There was no reasonable response by anybody at any point, nobody said yes it's been sold or it was taken to the stockroom. Somebody saw something, but nobody wanted to say anything. I don't know what the issue was or how our cabinet disappeared ten minutes after we walked in and not a sould knew anything about it. What's done is done, I suppose. Our experience was an unpleasant one, I won't return here, but I hope customers who do shop here will be treated better than we were. read more

The prices are reasonable, the place is convenient, there is a nice parking structure right in the back of the store. There is usually only couple of people in line and service can depend on the worker and the customer behavior. I love Home Goods! They always have the best stuff for solid prices. This store has a great selection of towels, rugs, and decor. Every area is very well stocked, which I appreciate. The staff is willing to help also with larger items to place on reserve. They seem to be a little understaffed, as the wait in line is often longer than ideal. It's a tiny bit messy in some areas as well, so you have to sort through and really hunt to make sure you get everything. Their rug selection is extensive and affordable. They have a lot that gives 90 minutes free right by. This shopping center also has a DSW and Marshalls. It's very close to the Americana as well. This place is great! I love all the values and the variety of items for the home. Since the completion of my remodel just over a year ago, I've been here several times and buy 1 or 2 pieces at a time. Each piece works amazing with my decor and the prices are more than reasonable. I used to work for Expo Design Center so I know decor and design and this place never disappoints. Even when I'm not shopping for anything in particular I like to stop in to see what new pieces they've added to their inventory.
