Hello everyone! I like to thank Jonathan Miranda and David Howell Brackett for making my 1st Refinance experience easy - breezy. I kept putting off the idea until I had spoken to several friends, who said they had refinanced their homes, so I decided to do the same. I just dreaded digging up a ton of paperwork and letting people I did not know, looking into my personal business. After I compared all the offers sent to me by various businesses, I decided to go with the one that I received from Jonathan, as they were the lowest. There were a couple of offers such as, "Lowering Monthly Payment" or "Cash-Out". Although, the Cash Out offer sounded good at the time, Jonathan explained the difference between the two, so I decided on the lower payment option. Anything to help me save $$ in the long run! Being somewhat, organized, I was able to provide all my documents that was needed to Jonathan online. I must admit, at one point I was somewhat reluctant to continue, as it seemed there were too many discrepancies in figures, and things overlooked. I brought all my concerns to errors that I had found to Jonathan's attention, and he acted quickly to review and pass on my questions to the person preparing my paperwork to ensure they were corrected. I do understand their desire to get things done quickly, as so does the borrower, but my only suggestion to them is, to go slower to ensure 'all' figures are correct and all paper work has been submitted before asking customers to -sign- on the dotted line. Everything went quickly and quite smooth, therefore, it took a short time to process my loan. Upon the signing of my paperwork, I did notice that my 1st payment was off from what I was originally told. I contacted Jonathan, and he instantly sent me an email to explain why that was. have purchased 4 homes in the past 30 years. The loan process has never been pleasant, except in this instance. They were extremely responsive and clear. They offered detailed explanations and showed me many possibilities. Speedy, accurate, and clear. The entire process took about 2 weeks. I saw some bad reviews, but I'm guessing these people didn't have the appropriate documents. All together I think I had 2 further requests for documentations which took about a day. I will recommend to all my friends. I think they avoid the complexity and cost of brick and mortar banks. My first loan officer from one of these other banks was located in the midwest. Stay away they will drop you like a hot rock when things dont go in there favor and will stop texting calling and EMAILS will not responding to you and then 4 months later email and try to start up again I lost 600.00 dollars for my appraisal with no thanks to them find a nother lender if you really want someone to work for you and help you. read more

Here's the deal. There are an enormous number of lenders currently refinancing thousands of loans with interest rates being so low. I called back HFN after receiving a letter and had a long conversation with a loan specialist. I was quoted the same 2.75% rate as all the other VA lenders, and when questioned about scheduled costs, I was told, 3,800 to 4000, in other words "what could be recouped in 6 months" Going forward with this transparency I was upset to see in the written disclosures a cost schedule that hit $7,800. I realize that costs are going to be very similar across the board no matter who I decide to sign with, however this type of intentional misleading in attempt to take advantage of two good to be true rates is sad. Be informed folks, shop someplace that isn't going to lie to you. read more

I so wanted to be able to give a great positive review but unfortunately that was not the case with my refi and Homeland Financial. While I do think David is great I found the attention to my needs very lacking. From beginning to end they "forgot" important details or just did not follow thru. From sending subordination paperwork to the wrong place to telling me there would be no money due at closing and suddenly changing their minds and requiring me to wire transfer money to close. They didn't even tell me they were going to require escrow to collect $100 to "pay off" one credit card bill. I hope I was the exception and they are truly a good company but felt the need to put this in writing so others could be aware of the problems I experienced. read more
