We have been going here since our senior dog was a puppy...long before the new management took over. In comparison, the new staff is not as warm and welcoming as the previous staff. It used to feel more like a family there. Now, they hardly speak to you, and you just sit there until they take you back. Everything is almost sterile. The emergency vet we saw a couple years ago was a warmer and more caring environment. I like that they have updated the exam rooms and facilities and they use a website that has a booking feature, which is convenient, but they are REALLY expensive. We thought it was expensive after his last wellness exam, but he really needed to get in to see someone, and we thought, "Why not stay where he has been since he was a puppy?" We just took him in for a vet tech appointment to renew his prescription. They said it would be an easy and quick appointment to get labs done. He also needed to do his updated rabies shot. The total was over $500. Even his prescription with them was $70 for a monthly supply of gabapentin. We did that twice before a friend of mine recommended using Chewy instead. We pay $4.80 for a month's supply (60 pills) of the same medication. The vet was nice when we met with her. She was kind to our very shy senior dog, but despite thinking she was great, it isn't enough to keep us at this veterinarian any longer. read more

Buckle up. I'm sorry to say this will be negative. I have been a client of the OLD Arcadia Small Animal Hospital (closed up Summer 2025) for decades, and with many happy pets. They were wonderful. When they changed hands, I knew the new clinic would have big shoes to fill, but I was hopeful. They reopened in late 2025/early 2026 under new management. I am no longer hopeful. On my first visit a couple of months ago, not only was I left waiting for 30 minutes with an anxious dog in a completely empty clinic, but the hard-sell for services that I did not need was, to say the least, aggressive. When I asked what medical indication the vet had for her recommendations, she were not able to give a medically sound reason (she basically said "because I said so."). I decided to give them a second chance today with another vet in the practice. After 20 minutes waiting, again, with an anxious dog, I asked the receptionist when the vet would be in. She checked with the doctor, came in, and said momentarily as she was finishing her notes. I have no problem with that (because doctor), but does it need to be during my appointment time, when she is already late, and there is not a single other client in the building? After another 20 minutes without a word (so we're at 40 total) I got up and left. It was simply unfair to leave my dog in that anxious state. I will not be back. They are 0 for 2. Although the receptionist tried her best, I will also say they have her alone doing the job of what used to take 3 receptionists in the old clinic, so I have no idea how she is managing. Clearly customer service (between the dearth of staff and excessive wait times) is not their priority. I hate leaving negative reviews but I want my vet to care about my pet, not profit. If you want to part with a GREAT deal of money in the process of trying to get medical help for your pet, this is the place for you! Our cat was not eating or drinking and hardly seemed to be able to get up, so we took her to Arcadia Animal Hospital. The vet couldn't really determine what was wrong with our cat, other than she had a slight fever. Thinking it was an infection, we asked for convenia injection, which had helped her before. The vet refused and said more tests were needed. We were sent home with some meds which didn't help at all. We returned two days later and our cat was given more "tests," which, looking back, were just horribly expensive and totally unnecessary! Again, we asked for a convenia injection and finally got one. Sixteen hundred dollars later (you read that right-- $1,600+) we feel totally ripped off; we were at the mercy of this animal hospital that doesn't care how much you are forced to pay to get help for your pet. They just kept on ordering the tests because THEY didn't know how to treat what was most likely a simple infection. Our beloved cat is better, but we will not be going back to Arcadia Animal Hospital any time soon, you can be sure of that! read more

There are new owners of the hospital. So I decided to try it. I brought my dog in who was limping on her front leg. Within two minutes the doctor said I needed to have an X-ray on my dog's back leg. She insisted that it was the back leg and not the front. So I paid the $1200 for an X-ray, knowing full well it was not the back leg. They preceded to tell me that she has a disc disease. I took my dog for a second opinion. What do you know. It wasn't the back leg. It was the front leg. I knew something was up as soon as I walked in. read more

Despite this, the doctor repeatedly used alarming language including references to possible death in order to pressure me into expensive STAT imaging and additional procedures. I have been coming to this vet for decades and I can honestly say I was very disappointed with the service and staff. The office looks sad and staff are not friendly at all. We went in today to take our cat. We got quoted a ridiculous amount of money for testing and a bunch of other stuff that I don't even think they know. At the end we paid $600 and I don't think they even know what my poor cat has. We miss Dr Glover and her kindness towards our fur babies and her knowledge of animals. Truly amazing people that work here. Took in my dog months ago for a walking issue. Dr. Sanfilippo was extremely kind and knowledgeable. After some testing, was able to diagnose and treat, but unfortunately there was an unexpected terminal diagnosis that was caught which was unrelated to the initial concern. I am grateful she was able to make this diagnosis so my family could have closure and spend more quality time with him. We had to euthanize him months later and Dr. Sanfilippo happened to be the doctor that day as well. I am so grateful to her and her team. So compassionate and sympathetic. Later, I received a card with handwritten notes from the team. Above and beyond! Nataly at the front desk was always smiling and cheerful. Such disappointing experiences under the new ownership. The old owner, Dr. Glover, and her staff were amazing, and had us coming back for years. The new management and staff are quite unfriendly and the new waiting room is so sterile and unwelcoming. The front desk staff don't talk to you and you are left sitting there forever, even if you have an appointment. Not to mention that they don't seem to realize that you can hear them talking about you and your pet when you're sitting in the exam room. I have been going to Arcadia Animal Hospital thru multiple generations of dogs,... Labradors, many puppies, given up to be guide Dogs for people who need them. I've had the doctors see my cats, skunks, a couple of half drown possums, mice and a couple of birds. I love this hospital, all the doctors and people who work and spend their time being friends, and giving information and comfort to us people with sick, terminal, and most importantly healthy animals. I understand that this week the hospital is closing..., it's staff and doctors retiring, because of needed doctors to cover for the overworked regular staff. I called to ask about the balloon charge, and the owner said "that that's just the way they do things there". He said I took up too much of the vets time, and that's how they charge, is by the vets time. I was given no warning about how long the consultation needed to be to stay on the quote that was given. The owner made me feel like I was a bad pet owner for asking about the cost of the consultation. I feel like all they care about is money! Update: the scariest part of my review and Brian's response is, rather than admit that he made a mistake, he goes on to admit that his staff stole a dog. Months ago, my ex rehomed a dog due to family allergies. The microchip wasn't even registered and the new family did not reprogram the chip, but my email address somehow got on there. The dog got loose and Arcadia Animal hospital showed up at my ex's. She informed them that the dog was rehomed and she was attempting to find the owner, who had changed her Facebook name. Brian from Arcadia Animal Hospital took it upon himself to slander MY business with false claims that I opened the gate and kicked the dog out and that my ex slammed the door in their faces, until I retrieved the footage FROM THE RING DOORBELL showing they lied. I even tried to explain to Brian and this dude catches an attitude with me. I finally managed to get in contact with the dog's owner and literally drove in the pouring rain to their hospital with the owner on the phone and in her car, on the way to the hospital, only to learn that they already gave the dog away. They refused to even speak to the owner! Aside from the fact that I had nothing to do with the situation, they ran to MY yelp page and even took to Facebook to talk smack. Boy, thank goodness for Ring doorbell footage, which I'm happy to post. HAPPY. I also recorded the interaction when I went to their hospital, should they try to make any other false claims. So look at Brian's reply and imagine how much worse the first one was. Five days before Christmas, we had to let our beloved dog of 14 years go. We were devastated and heartbroken, but Dr. Glover, Dr. Park and Maria were there for us every step of the way. They gave us options and prices, but stepped back to allow us to make the decisions that was best for our family and Mochi. When we couldn't pick up Mochi's remembrances, due to the wildfires, they didn't just say "that is okay." Maria said, "we will keep Mochi safe until you can." Their language reflected their heart in all our interactions. After we picked up Mochi's beautiful remembrances . . . an engraved box with her ashes and gold plate with her name, her pawprint, a poem and certificate, we received a card from Dr. Glover and Maria with a personal note. Over the last 20 years, I have taken eight dogs to Arcadia for their health. I saw this one dissatisfied customer posting multiple one star comments just to engage one complain in public is not fair to the hospital nor to the people who use Yelp to search for service providers, so I'm posting this five star rating to balance the curve a bit. The last two years has been very difficult for pet owners to drop off their love ones at vet office, not being able to be with them in exam room to calm their nerve and not being able to converse with doctor during the exam. Arcadia is the only animal hospital I'm aware of allowing owners to enter, which I very much appreciate and understand the risk they take. I lost two senior dogs last year, during the last few months of their life, I took them to hospital every week for care. I can't say enough to the supports I received from the vet and staff during that difficult time. There are many new and big chain hospitals out there. Their equipment may be better, there maybe more specialists and they have larger facility; but I feel comfortable trusting my family at Arcadia Small Animal Hospital. read more

My dog has been a customer of this facility for more than 10 years. The most recent experience I had with them was extremely terrible. The manor of the front desk was absolutely ridiculous. . I had an appointment at 4 pm. I arrived at 4:10 pm and I was refused to be seen. The last customer of the day came early, they were seen when I arrived. I offered to wait until they were serviced, I can let my dog to be seen. It was refused. They want to close early and couldn't see my dog. I offered to make another appointment, which was again declined. I need to wait for their email to make another appointment. Don't go there !!! It was terrible there. read more

Dr. Glover is a wonderful vet! She has been our vet for probably 20 years and 6 cats. They have all received excellent, kind, and thoughtful care from Dr. Glover. She is in my opinion the best around. Austin, the earlier reviewer from June, 2024, who said that Dr. Glover must somehow be afraid of cats, must be himself some sort of whack job and his review should be completely ignored. These types of comments are not only hurtful, but they completely distort the truth. Both Dr. Glover and Brian have been very comfortable and gentle with our cats. She is great at thinking about and diagnosing the problem and coming up with useful solutions. You owe it to yourself to come her in the first place. You will be very happy that you did. After coming to this vet for 8+ years, 4 years with my own dog, I can no longer recommend. While the staff is nice, the lack of communication is disappointing and awful. I scheduled an appointment back in February for a Friday appt at 5:30pm in March. I arrived 20 minutes early only to find that the doors were locked and no one was there. I arrived well before their posted closing time (6pm). No one answered the phones, there's no more website to reach out via email, and no alternate way to get in contact with them. Not that this has to do with the business, but I took a half day just so I could make it to the appt early. They did not reach out and call to tell me they were closing early or that they were closed at all. No signs on the windows. Just empty. Very sad and very disappointing. read more

I brought my lil puppy Cleo here and they have always been friendly and competent. When it was time to get her neutered they did a fabulous job I picked her up the next morning and she was released without antibiotics or a cone around her neck. They did dissolvable stitches inside. Today was the hardest decision of my life. I had to put my dog down. She was an 11 year old German Shepherd who just had her spleen removed about 3 weeks ago. Before, I went ahead with the surgery the staff members and doctors told me exactly what was going to happen. They were open and honest with me. They didn't hold anything back. My dog Lilo has been going to Arcadia Animal Hospital since she was 8 weeks old. Everyone has been nice and open and honest without holding anything back. Lilo has had many health issues. She had a home I. Her gums, they caught the cancer in her eye and referred me to Eye Care Center. They were fabulous there too. After surgery Arcadia Animal Hospital wanted me to do x-rays to make sure she was okay. Her spleen was removed and from there the cancer took over quickly. Faster than we expected. She was fine last night but this morning she wasn't able to walk nor want to eat. I knew what I had to do. I called and they knew who I was as well as my dog name. They wanted me to come in at 11am but when I asked to get a later appointment because I needed to spend more time with my dog they totally understand. We arrived and they were ready for us. The staff were so wonderful and understanding. The nurse asked permission if it was okay for her to hug me and told me she was vaccinated and well am I. She gave her condolences and was crying with me. They prepped me the room and gave me and my family all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. I knew Lilo was in good hands. The nurse sat with her rubbing her and talking to her. I truly appreciate all that they have done to help my dog with all her medical needs. I truly appreciate all that they have done. My dog was happy to go to the vet. She never gave me a hard time. Thank you to all the staff at the Arcadia Animal Hospital. I know even though Lilo is in doggy heaven that she knew you did everything you could to make her feel better. Thank you! The staff is rude. If you ask them about the cost of a shot or something they react like you are offending them. In fact that's exactly what they did and then cancelled my next appointment without notifying me. Showed up at our scheduled time for my dog's shots and checkup and they said "we won't see you anymore". Didn't even honor that appointment. Awful. I am seek of seeing owner's response. My family has been going to Arcadia Animal Hospital for almost 20 years. We used them because they are close to our house. The experience of the first 10 years was ok. We've brought many generations of our dogs. The Vets are good to average. It's a good place for dogs. We started to bring our cats and it's not cat-friendly. Don't bring your cat here. Dr. Glover is afraid of cats, she doesn't know how to handle them and blames the cat. Dr Peterson is ok with cats nothing special here. A few of the techs are good with cats but you never know which one you'll get. My cat had flees and Dr Golver kept prescribing frontline and other medications that didn't work. This went on for over a year before finding a working medication. They do this on purpose to keep you coming back. They don't care about the pets it's just about the money to them. One thing I noticed is they make you bring your pet in for yearly checkups sometimes more than that. The front office staff is about the rudest you'll ever encounter. Starting with the Manager. She goes out of her way to be condescending. I just keep coming here because it's close to my house but I'm getting tired of the racist and rude front office staff! They even send you home if your a few minutes late. They always run late but can never be blammed. read more

I am very grateful to Dr. Clause for his thoroughness and care with regards to my kitty. Today we discussed many possible options or steps to take in diagnosing her mass; blood, biopsy, medical treatment, etc. The X-ray immediately showed extreme amount of cancer nodules so she is home for a short while to say goodbye. In fact, everyone at the front office and behind were very kind, respectful and honest. On first impression Arcadia Animal Hospital seemed like a caring place with friendly staff. However, I can't help but accuse Arcadia Animal Hospital for swindling money and denying accountability. My mom and I took our dog there, concerned her swollen ear was infected. When the doctor looked at her, he said it was mainly cosmetic and wasn't a health concern, so instead of choosing surgery which he suggested, she chose the prescribed medication. The $89 for the anti-fungal cream Mometavet was an additional cost to the $80+ visit. But when we came home and checked online, we found that the medication was only $36. Confused, my mom called the hospital asking why they were charging over 100% extra for this medication. This was the second time they charged double the cost of medication from retail price. Our dog is also on Apoquel, which we are now ordering for $2.50/pill instead of $5/pill which this animal hospital charges. The receptionist responded by saying she doesn't set the prices and the doctor already left and would have him call my mom on Monday. My mom missed the call, and about a week later we get a letter from Brian Scott that we've been marked: Provide No Further Services. Meaning they will no longer take our business. The letter was a perplexing response to a customer who, I'd say, brought up a fair point. It almost seems they believe their customers are easy to fool, given that they were taken aback when my mom confronted them about this outrageous charge before denying future services. I feel like transparency in the business side of things translate to how our pets are treated inside. As someone who wanted to be a veternarian myself, I'm concerned that there are Animal Hospitals like this who are dishonest and try to take advantage of their customers. read more

I randomly found and adopted a senior dog this year. He had so many health issues, including a cancerous tumor. I needed a vet who could perform surgery in a short timeframe and called around 10 places that had no availability for months. Arcadia Animal Hospital was able to schedule the surgery in 2 weeks and was more affordable than the other offices. After the surgery, I learned that one of their staff members comforted and held my dog for HOURS AND HOURS post-op! This was enough to switch my other dog from our vet down the street to this much farther vet--distance and traffic be damned! Both my dogs love Arcadia Animal Hospital and leave feeling like celebrities. read more
