So, just be aware that their website isn't great apparently. They will refund you on things they apparently "don't have" but will allow you to order multiple times. I ordered two Duck Meat Vital Essentials and only one showed up. We leave for 2 weeks and I was counting on two orders to arrive. After going to Cat Con for sometime and always seeing Centinela as a vendor that was super generous with their coupons and freebies, I was glad to see one sort of closer to me. I used to go to a clinic and saw that this location was nearby and went to get some goods. It's definitely more cat and dog based of a pet shop, but they have some neat things like anesthesia free teeth cleaning services and a dog wash station. Sadly nothing for us exotics owners (many such cases), but my brother does have a cat at home so I got him some treats. I'd probably be more of a frequent customer if they were a bit closer but they have a decent selection of treats, toys, supplies, and standard food and litter. I've been purchasing food and treats for my dog from Centinela Feed for the past year and have consistently received great service. They offer online order for same day delivery (free if a minimum spend is met) and store pick up. They recently ran a promotion online and the system did not work all morning. I called them and they happily checked their inventory for me and offered to honor the coupon in store. I really hate to leave bad reviews, but this one is a long time coming. I've been shopping at Centinela for years, because I want to support local businesses. Brian always goes above and beyond for my elderly mother. They have a lot of nice employees. The upsetting thing is that I have to argue for them to honor their coupon/promo offers. It's stressful. It's not about saving a few dollars, but the false advertising. I've spent at least $4,755.75 at this Centinela location in the last two years, not including cash transactions-- I was a loyal customer. I could get better deals on Amazon, but I try to support local businesses. The most recent incident was on February 5. They sent out an email saying "ALL TREATS" were 20% off. Greenies were not excluded in the fine print. I currently have a herniated disc/pinched nerve that is causing me a lot of pain, but I went down to the store to buy the Greenies Pill Pockets. The cashier told me they were not included in the sale, because they are supplements -- not treats. I bought the Greenies anyway, and when I got home I reviewed packaging and noted that the word "treat" is listed at least eight times. The word "supplement" does not appear on the packaging. *** I even reached out to Greenies -- the manufacturer -- who confirmed these are NOT supplements (because they don't make feline supplements). They're treats. See attached screenshots. *** I decided to reach out to the store once more. I spoke with Talaya who stood by Centinela's policy that these are not treats. I told her that this is false advertising, and she agreed. She was nice, but indicated that as a manager she couldn't do anything about it and that speaking to higher ups was my only option. I reached out to Centinela via email and haven't heard back yet. My last trip to Centinela, before this, was just a week ago on January 30. I went to the store because of their 20% off "waste management" sale. I purchased 28 lbs of World's Best Cat Litter at $33.49 and was not given the sale price because I didn't ask for it. (Why do I need to ask for it when there are signs everywhere, I received an email about it, and everyone is told about the current sales upon entering?) A manager -- who was very nice (didn't get her name but she told me about her feral cat) -- was called and she refunded $7.39 to my credit card. She was very apologetic. I leave here feeling so frustrated more often than not. I won't be shopping here again. Personal opinion only but I think Centinela is probably the best pet supply store. Their staff at any location are always friendly and greet you as you come in and I've been coming for years even after moving to different parts of LA. They are knowledgeable about the products and make very good recommendations from types of foods, treats and even types of harnesses for calm or high-energy dogs. To top it all off, they have an amazing return policy. I have an extremely picky pet and have tried a multitude of kibble, wet food, and treats. Sometimes she will like something for a meal and not want it anymore after that first day or so. Sometimes she'll sniff a treat and not like it. Ungrateful right? Kidding kidding. With that, I'm able to return it and continue to figure out more of her likes and dislikes. read more

Customer Service! I have had a couple bad experiences with this particular location. The final straw was yesterday, we have a 5 dog family and obviously buy a lot of products for them. I went in yesterday picked up several things and was dealt with by Dani that also says she's the manager. I went to give her our loyalty number that has always been my phone number and she says she can't accept that and only email. I have multiple emails and have no clue what email and they are at least 20 characters long. She wanted me to setup a new account and I said I don't want a new account and just put my number in please she refused to do that and as the line for checkout got longer and longer I just left after 5 minutes with nothing. Reading the company's owners bio (Christopher) he says how important customer service is. I also had a problem with the same store a while back when they had an online sale, I was out of town and ordered a couple hundred dollars worth of stuff. Sent my daughter with the same last name and email confirmation and they wouldn't let her pick up the stuff because she didn't have my credit card on her and refused to let her pick it up even when she called me and put me on the phone! I have never been asked or treated like this in any other the other store locations. They always have friendly associates working here. Today, Walter greeted and helped me out and he was very sweet and helpful and you can tell he has a love for animals. He told me about the specials going on in the store - gotta love their deals! He recommended the Earth Animal chews and was very helpful when I had questions about the product. Tried the chews out once we got home and my dog seems to like them. The quality is great - love that they're made out of rice (not rawhide). For my dog who easily swallows and chokes on things, these things actually just perfect since they are easily dissolvable and digestible. BUYER BEWARE OF RETURNS AT THIS LOCATION!!! I have been a loyal customer (in particular at this location) for over 4 years and the new staff that has rolled in leaves something to be desired. This is the second time I have tried to make returns and was told by management that there would be no issues however... when making the return, I have had to engage in an unpleasant conversation, or even worse, an ARGUMENT. Steven the manager was so rude, condescending, unprofessional and I honestly wonder why he is even a manager to begin with. I made a purchase that I was told by two staff members I could return with no issue and somehow when I had to return it, there was an issue bc of a promotional item. They gave me back half the refund and the rest as store credit but it wasn't just about the return, it was the fact that I had an unpleasant experience and how Steven, this particular manager, was giving attitude and arguing with me in a very rude, unprofessional, disrespectful manner when it could have been handled much more smoothly. We had a 10-minute argument which at the end of it he said, "had you returned the free promotional item you would get the full refund" which he could have said right in the beginning in a professional, calm manner. What he said (with attitude) when I attempted to return it was, "that's what the computer says so that's what you're getting back" and was talking over me, cutting me off, giving me attitude and being so condescending and disrespectful. This place is amazing! I went here with my new puppy because she was a picky eater and I had no idea what kind of food would be good for her. When I first walked in I was immediately asked if I needed help, and when I brought up my situation they were able to walk me through the different kinds of foods such as a raw diet vs baked food etc. That was super helpful so thanks for that! After helping me decide what type of food to get I decided on a baked kibble for my pup. Unfortunately they were out, but they told me I would be able to put my name down and they would call me when available! That is such a cool thing they do. I ended up buying the food from another place because I needed it as soon a possible. But the other store was way more expensive. This is now my go to place for my pups specialty food. She ended up loving what they recommended! They also sell more then just dog food. They have everything a regular pet store has (dog and cat stuff that is). I had a great vibe for this place before I walked in the door - already greeted by a manager who was on his way out promoting their treat sale. A gal named Flaime helped me out with enthusiasm! One thing I would add, please train your staff that when people call for a specific dog food brand and recipe, alternative brands are not plausible. And when they call and you tell them you have what I asked for and you dont; it's not acceptable. A store manager named Brian, was extremely helpful as we were looking into the raw food selections for our new pup. He gave very helpful tips and was super patient. Our other dog Bear was actually diagnosed with pacreatitis and Brian was fully aware of the nutritional needs that Bear would need. I am so thankful for the help I received today! Backstory: my 4 yr old dog ended up having esophagitis due to a few pieces of beef trachea being lodged in. After the whole scare and when she finally came home from the hospital you could see her spine, ribs and hip bones. After a few days of trying to fatten her up I decided I need some help choosing something healthy but would help add on weight. This was my first time at Centinela. We just adopted our first rescue dog and wanted to buy some treats for him and some grooming stuff. Also, he had been scratching and I was scared he had fleas....:( Coco, the general manager, was so nice....I was bowled over! Not only did she advise us on what medication to put on him for the fleas but gave him so many treats to take home. She must have spent 20 minutes or so, telling me what shampoo will help his coat grow and where to take him for grooming. When I told her I cook food for him at home, she even gave me free oven baked lamb based food samples, for days when I might be too tired to cook for him! The store was full of cute accessories, treats, variety of grooming tools, bowls, food, etc. and the nicest people ever! My little baby was so happy to meet all these friendly people. I had also visited Paw boutique on Raymond earlier...prices for the same things were cheaper by $2-3 here. Centinela is one of the very few places I shop for my dogs food, they have a nice variety of premium dog foods like Taste of the Wild, Royal Canine, Canidae, Blue Buffalo, Lotus etc... Unfortunately one of the foods I use is Taste of the Wild PUPPY and they don't stock it but can order it for you it will take one week, WHY order when I can go elsewhere! Other than that the store is well stocked, isles are roomy you can easily maneuver shopping cart through the store, while you shop for other things like treats, toys, organic shampoo's or other pet needs, the sales staff actually ask's you if they can help you!. Sign up for the Centinela rewards club and get weekly e-mail's with coupons and specials. High quality food doesn't always mean the highest prices, though it will cost you more than the lower quality food with a bunch of fillers and lacking nutrition. read more

I recently discovered Centinela Feed & Pet Supplies and I couldn't be happier ! They carry top quality products for your pets. I can't find some of my favorite brands at most pet shops, but I have found them here at Centinela. Some of my favorites include the rawhide free products, Merrick, and Ziwi. I highly recommend shopping at Centinela as opposed to Petsmart or Petco. You will notice the major difference when you see the more safe ingredients in their food products. Many major brands have rendered products in them - if you haven't heard of this please google search it. I've noticed Centinela doesn't carry any of these big brands that use rendered products - which makes me really have a lot of trust in the Centinela name.
