I have a customer for well over 20 years. I am on auto delivery for oil and annual service for my AC which I bought from them and my furnace. My latest delivery of oil was $3.79 a gallon. Other local companies were charging under three or a little over three dollars a gallon. When I contacted Homestead, they first told me I get a 15% discount because I'm on auto and I would get a discount on the next delivery. When I told them I was canceling all of my services they said sorry to see you go. There was no attempt to remedy the situation or check into the absorbent $3.79 charge. read more

Everyone at this Company has a bad attitude and in their mind they are never wrong. I had dealt with three employees for service. Each had an attitude and actually were disrespectful. The kid that came in first had no clue what he was doing, had an attitude, did not do a diagnostic or troubleshoot the actual issue. He just blindly went straight to replacing a $7 part and charged $399. He left and I didn't have heat. He had no clue that it was the gas valve. In addition, he replaced the thermo coil with a used part. Part of the fee is a walk on fee that others only charge if no work is performed. Second guy came in and did perform a cleaning but they didn't address the issue. Eversource had come in and we discovered the actual issue and it was after the first kid came in and blindly replaced parts that did not need to be replaced. In addition, they sent me an invoice in the mail. However, I had already paid on site. read more

Unreliable, untrustworthy and damaged my house. I had imperial oil for years and had great service, as soon as they switched to homestead it turned bad quick. I requested a quote for a water softening system, the day of the appt they called to reschedule because they "were helping a family with no water trying to get water". Ok no problem I can sympathize. Couple weeks later they called just before the appointment to cancel again, fishy thing was they gave the exact same excuse verbatim, seemed odd so I went with another local company who did a fantastic job. Over the winter I had to call numerous times for oil delivery, almost running out at one point. Since we were on auto pay and delivery should not have happened. Last time they came they damaged our gutters, should never have even been by the house. They said they would "absolutely fix them" but didn't respond to calls or text and have made no effort. Lots of other companies to choose from. Too bad, Imperial didn't have the highest reviews but I found them to have quality people and service, no more. read more

Joe was the worst experience you can imagine! Had 2 bathrooms redone there terrible! Problem after problem. (He let his employees do our bathrooms with no experience) How we're we to know this? He admitted it. Eventually we k8cked him out of our house after 12 m9nths of this! His employees drank on the job, also fighting on the job. Stay away from this company!!!!!! The craziest part is the person who recommend him was family and they feel terrible what he put 7s through. Our floors are coming up already after 1 year. read more

My oil boiler was 30+ years old and my oil tank was older. My boiler had a crack in the top among other things. I had a number of places provide me with quotes. I ended up choosing Homestead. They were fantastic from the quote to the end of the install. Everyone was very polite. They are very experienced in what they do. They installed a new boiler, water heater, and removed all the old equipment and oil tank. Their pricing was in line with both of the other quotes I had. The guys doing the install were great. They did a fantastic job. At the end, they went over the entire system with me. They answered all my questions. I didn't realize all the things they do. Not just heating/cooling systems. I talked to the installers about some plumbing needs I have. They took pictures and brought them back to the office. The next day, their plumbing folks came out to review and provided a quote the next day. They will be back to do those tasks. My experience with Homestead was awesome. No need to go anywhere else. read more

I made an appointment for a home energy audit, where they rate the efficiency of your house and seal things up and change out lightbulbs. They came out 3 years ago and I have upgraded some items and wanted an updated score, and thoughts on more updates I should do. They inspect the house to make sure it is safe and free from mold before beginning. The tech found an very small area in between the floor joists in the basement that he believed was asbestos (I don't even know if he is correct) and he refused to do any further inspection of the basement. With the recent storms and rain, the basement was the most important part to me, so I said "ok, I want to cancel and why did you do a complete inspection last time?!" I waited weeks for the appt, took a day off from work and gave them $50 for nothing. Never again. read more

I can NOT believe that I was charged 170$ for these rude people to tell me my furnace was clogged. they were here longer to write a bill then for walking down my stairs and removing 2 tiny screws and the smoke pipe. the guy was just fn rude. you all better do you homework before call Homestead. Ive been in the construction field for over 40 years and I can tell you when you are at the mercy of a HVAC guy they ABSOLUTELY know it.. Beware!! Recently we had fiberglass insulation installed in the ceiling of our cellar by Alex from Homestead Comfort in Ellington CT. We were amazed with his efficiency and politeness and his ability to work around things we still had stored in the cellar that we thought we would have to move. After contacting Homestead and paying for repair service - the HVAC guy said he could not replace the fuse because "it was electrical issue"His visit was 5 minutes. Second call to electrician and another service visit -diagnosed and brought part with him- also 5 minutes but repaired. HVAC service person can't replace fuse??? Todd and Josh came from Homestead to install a mini-split, after I got a thorough inspection and great price from Andrew Luginbuhl. Todd and Josh were prompt, hard-working, very courteous, cleaned up after themselves - everything anyone would want. They showed me how the system works with the remote and made sure each unit was functioning before they left. Homestead coordinator, Toni, made sure I had everything I needed to request my rebate, too. And they made an appointment for my annual cleaning for next year. read more

I called Homestead after recommendation on my town forum. I wanted them to inspect our overproducing well that's been washing out our driveway. They did and gave me a really simple, cost effective option we can do on our own to help mitigate the issue a bit. They did that but also changed our water filter, inspected our softener system, tested our water and just over a week later called to review my water results and give advice or suggestions. They also emailed me my results. Not once did they try to sell me any products. Justin was so knowledgeable and very friendly. He made me feel at ease. I've had negative experience with other companies for our well locally in the past ... I'm so happy to know Homestead exists and we will use them for all our future well and water needs. Being a customer for sometime and was actually brought to their business because my original oil company was bought out by them. When they first came on board I was never contacted about a yearly service to my furnace for 4 years. It was something that my last oil company that was bought out by them always made sure of. Just recently I ran out of oil and am on auto delivery and budget plan. Oh and they are over 40 cents higher than other companies. So I look at the last time I paid them and it had been over 40 days. So I wondering why if I am on auto delivery that a delivery wasn't made a few days before my month was up. So I had to call them to have them come out for a delivery because my tank was dry as the desert. They had a delivery within an hour but then told me that I wouldn't be able to get a tech out to restart the furnace until at least 7 hours later! What's the sense of getting a tank of oil if I can't run the furnace? Not very organized and the lady Barb on the phone seemed kinda clueless. Time to start researching for another company I guess. Very disappointing. I did send a message to the company. I hope I don't have to deal with the owner like one of the guys referred to as an a-- in another review I just read before putting this in. I guess there is always consumer protection at that point. read more

Around 1AM on New Years Eve day our dog alerted us to a smell of hot electric motor coming through the heater vents. While my husband tried to isolate the problem (a failing furnace blower motor) I frantically called almost every HVAC company in the area. The temperature outside was -2 with the wind chill and our 150 year old home had already dropped to 56 degrees. Despite speaking to 7 different answering services, Homestead's on-call technician not only returned our call within minutes, but was the only company to call us back. In addition, Homestead's technician, Matt Minor, agreed to come and assess the problem immediately, even though it was 3:30AM and no one was sure it could ultimately be repaired the same day. Matt replaced the capacitor and magically heat returned. However, as he was walking out the door, the motor seized. Rather than tell us, "See you in a few days...I tried...", he not only attempted to use the "rescue" motor he had in the truck, but he drove all the way back to the shop to get a brand-new one of the correct voltage. Matt was even willing to bring back heaters if he couldn't repair the motor immediately. Despite almost 4 hours of work in the middle of the night, Matt persisted and by 8AM the furnace was working and heat had returned! My husband and I were TREMENDOUSLY impressed with Matt! To think we received this service and weren't previously Homestead customers. It is safe to say we will be Homestead customers for life! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Zero...oil delivery was contracted to start January 2019. They mistakenly filed my tank twice at the end of 2018. I asked them to match the price of my current contract or to take the oil out. They matched it but when I called in January for a delivery they declined to deliver. Although it was their mistake delivering the oil the two previous times, they said since I had them match the price they refused delivery. I paid a fee to guarantee so many gallons at a certain bnb price. So much for a contract, they wont follow through with. read more

Central wasn't working. Put a call in and spoke with Jen. She was very professional and told me someone would be here between 10:00-10:30. Brian and Jay came by, introduced themselves, looked at the problem, knew what needed to be done, and got right to work. Fortunately, it was an easy fix. I would highly recommend this company due to the professionalism all the way around. Nice group of people to work with, and felt they were honest and upfront right off the bat.
