Hidden gem of you are looking for a nice home cooked meal don't be shy, and don't take my word for it try it your self.

I drive trucks for a living and I'm always trying new food places. My student decided to pull over and check this place out. From the outside it didn't look like much but soon as we stepped in we knew it was the real deal. It was around 10am and we were still able to order from the lunch menu. The food was amazing but the real prize comes from the workers the were very genuine and friendly.

Doesn't look eye pleasing from the outside, but it's a cute little place with good food and their home fries are delicious! As a travel nurse, I'm always looking for a quick good bite, and glad I stopped by. Nice to see locals around and everyone was friendly. I had the eggs with Turkey sausage, Home fries, and a toasted English muffin. Add a cup of coffee and my bill was still less than 10 bucks. Give it a try, it's good food and bring cash, they don't accept credit cards and have an ATM inside.

Cute little place that, if you blink, you might miss it!

Charming little breakfast place--with real maple syrup--a huge deal-breaker in my BF's mind; also with a choice of organic or "regular." Wow! The pancakes were super; we got the blueberry. Great food and service and quick, too. It says cash only (bring extra for tipping) but I believe they may also accept credit cards.

    Good home cooking!!

#5 breakfast was delicious!! This place should be featured in Dives, Drivins and Diners... I went back two days later for MORE breakfast.... I NEVER do that!! This is a friendly cook-owned place. I was the only one in there who the owner, Holly, didn't call by name. I'll get there though, if I keep returning for more breakfast!!

A small but quaint breakfast and lunch spot. We had a party of 7 and they made sure we had a table. The service was excellent and very attentive to our needs. The menu is small but straight to the point and very affordable. Everything is under $10. This is my first time in this town and first impressions are everything. Food cooked with love. Just like my mom use to Saturdays morning's

Inside bar and 7 tables. Maybe 1.5 miles from 90. Yes you have to go past the mall area.

Traveling back to Boston. Wanted a diner. Used Yelp to find one close to the Mass Pike. Place was perfect. Small. No wait. Delicious food and quick. Holly the owner was in charge. Worth the 1.5 mile ride thru the mall area. Did not want Dunkin' or McDonalds.....way better.

    Chicken soup.

Found this little gem while looking for a lunch spot on yelp. Small unassuming little place that you could pass easily if you blink. I know because we passed it. Inside it was nicely decorated and clean. We were in there close to two, their closing time. I ordered chicken soup, it was homemade and hotter than hell, as it should be! It was delicious! I also ordered a tuna salad sandwich with a layer of egg salad (I know, but good!). She said no problem. My co-worker had a huge western omelet w toast and home fries. Our food was over the top good!! The owner Holly makes everything. She's so nice and we chatted the entire time. Go here you won't be disappointed!!

I ordered the Fifties Diner Special, which came with 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, home fries, rye toast, and two pancakes. Everything was excellent. The home fries arrived hot, the eggs were cooked perfectly over easy, the bacon was crisp, and the sausages were large and flavorful. The rye toast was already buttered, which was a nice touch. The pancakes were especially impressive--fluffy, moist, and served with four soft butter pats and plenty of syrup. The coffee was served in the classic old-fashioned white restaurant mugs, which added to the diner's nostalgic charm. My wife ordered the meat omelet, and it did not disappoint. It was huge, packed with meat, hot, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. The food, service, and overall experience were outstanding. After many years of visiting, this was easily our favorite meal at the Fifties Diner.

I ordered chicken tenders and fries... paper thin tenders over cooked. The fries were good. My fiancé ordered a Ruben. The meat was grilled before going on the sandwich and was extremely rubbery and lacked all flavor. What worse was the service.. waited 15 plus minutes to order our drinks and our food. It all came out at the same time.. drinks, appetizer and dinner. Our waitress never checked back for refills or even to see how food was. She was talking on her phone instead of helping her customers. Overall I'd say McDonald's across the street will give you better for and service.

The cheap add-ons shouldn't cost as much as the actual entrée. Nothing here is homemade--everything is clearly purchased in bulk from Costco (Kirkland brand) and Restaurant Depot. If you're expecting authentic, scratch-made kielbasa or pierogies, look elsewhere. To make matters worse, they shortcut the cooking by deep-frying the bacon and home fries before finishing them on the grill, leaving the food completely oversaturated with grease. You will need to ask. My major bugaboo is that the menu is pretty unclear. If you order a veggie omelette you might think it comes with at least some veggies in it. Apparently the $9.99 is the base price for just the eggs, and each item is added for $0.99 each. So when we ordered we were asked if we want all the veggies, it was unclear that this meant do you want to add $10 worth of extra items to the omelette. (Cheese is somehow extra too). The food was fine. Not worth $38 for eggs, toast homefries and the aforementioned omelette. So this is a once and done for us. And yes as others have said this is a cash only place.

The first thing that increased my appetite was the aroma. Our waitress, Rachel, was very friendly and advised us that the cook made outstanding pasta dishes. We had the daily soups with our meals-chicken noodle and stuffed pepper both were outstanding-fresh vegetables, chicken, and the stuffed pepper soup tasted like a stuffed pepper. Outstanding service by Rachel, outstanding homemade food with fresh vegetables and quality meats. We ordered two entrees for home the broasted chicken and veal franchise (excellent)\. I think the ihop in Enfield is well above most others, but The Farmers House was something else entirely. The food was so good and the kids talked about it all day. They don't do anything here you haven't had before, but they do everything very well. The only thing I could say was not great, and I hate complaining about things like this, is the parking. I know that's got little to do with the restaurant itself, but it is not the easiest spot to get in and out of, especially with everything going on at the X lately.
