Food and service were great. My husband had an omelet and I had tuna wrap. All were superb. They grill the wrap a bit so it comes out crispy. You can tell they put extra care in their food preparation for sure. Beverages were good - hazelnut iced coffee and unsweetened ice tea. Hash browns were a little undercooked and it's a bit noisy. This is your quintessential small town American eatery. It's unassuming on the outside with a very dated, all light wood, unrefined interior. I ordered a banana waffles with a side of scrambled eggs and bacon. The eggs were perfect, the bacon was great and the waffle was amazing. It had bananas on the inside only and though it would've been nice if it had some additional banana slices on top with some whipped cream, I did literally get what I ordered! Cannot recommend this place enough! We had a large group of 9 people and they accommodated us very quickly (about 10 minute wait) despite being otherwise crowded. Thank goodness they did as we absolutely loved it! Everyone loved all of the food including the breads they make in house (our waitress said her favorite was the cranberry orange walnut so we got a side of that for the table and oh my goodness - amazing!). My partner and I shared the polish breakfast plate with kielbasa and the cinnamon bun daily special French toast which came with eggs and meat. I also got the iced coffee which was bottomless just like hot (love that!). It was a lot of food for crazy low prices! We all left super full and happy for around $13 per person with coffees all around! The waitresses were all so friendly and sweet too! Enjoyed a breakfast w/ my mom here last Monday. We came around 10am, and the spot was pretty busy. We both got omelette plates, and they didn't disappoint. I ate the Homemade Corned Beef hash omelette, and it was fantastic. All together we paid around $40 for two meals, and an OJ. Solid vibes during the AM rush. Love this place! Went for breakfast this morning, and this is my favorite restaurant I've been to since moving here early this year. Our server, Jennifer, was friendly, attentive, and got our order correct. We both got Irish Eggs Benedict with house-made corned beef hash and it was delicious. The coffee was also good. An impressive breakfast place that shows its roots. We were introduced to Rusty's by a local who comes here frequently. It was the perfect place for a low key opportunity to rehook with an old friend. There was no pressure, just refills for the coffee. Eventually we ordered and I took the house suggestion of their version of Eggs Benedict. It lived up to the expectations. It was wonderful and was enough that I skipped lunch. The price was right as well. I will definitely stop back here the next time I am in Holyoke. read more

The first time I got the giant pancake with peanut butter chips I had to get it the second time as well. I also tried the egg scramble my friend ordered which was super delicious as well. Of all the years I've lived in the area I had never been in the space that Rusty's place occupies. You can tell when you first walk in that this building has character. The ceiling is the textured old style and the walls have framed front pages of newspapers with assorted early 1900 articles and pictures. It is a neighborhood type place, very friendly, very down at home. The menu is also somewhat similar. Pancakes made into Mickey Mouse ears for the kids. Home made corned beef hash, eggs Benedict, sourdough toast. Makes me feel welcome and at home. I ordered a Denver scramble which was a crispy hash brown with diced peppers, onions and ham added to fluffy eggs. It was topped with Monterey cheese and served with choice of toast. It was very good and I thought a great value. I'm really looking forward to returning to try other items on the memu. read more

Rusty's is named after a Holyoke firefighter that I had the pleasure of working with for many years. It's a great local spot that has a Shelburne Falls Coffee attached (?) to one side. This visit started at the coffee shop side and we wanted something to eat. After not seeing anything that peaked our interest, we decided to go down the two steps connecting the businesses with our coffees and sit down for brunch. I had one of many specials, chicken salad and my friend had eggs benedict. The salad was beautiful to look at. Tasty local greens, strawberries, avocado and tender hearty pieces of chicken. The blue cheese dressing was loaded with chunks, just the way I like it. My friend loved her eggs and home fries. I've eaten here a few times mainly for breakfast and love it. The atmosphere at Rusty's is the right mix of hometown atmosphere, local produce with real cooked meals, prepared and served up by genuinely good people. read more

We were in town on a Saturday morning and wanted a quick breakfast. Since it's the weekend after St. Patrick's day so the specials were corned beef based. I ordered the Benedict with corned beef. It was amazing!! My other half ordered the corned beef hash with eggs and toast. It too was delicious. The home fries were really good too. Our server was very nice and attentive. Been 3 times, twice for breakfast and once for lunch. The interior definitely has a history. you see it in the woodwork behind the counter, and the ceiling. the tables, chairs, and booths and a bit of a mix and match, but clean and functional. The kitchen is divided in two, separated by the entry way and specials written on a white board, the walk in is in the back corner of the dining room with the ice machine on the other side. There is Christmas tree tucked in the corner and decorated according to the season. These are the places I love, where the food and service out shine the decor. Servers friendly, quick, efficient and knowledgeable. This is a busy burn ''em turn kind of place, come in eat some great food at super reasonable prices, leave a good tip and go. Don't bust open your laptop and set up camp, other people want to eat and this business deserves to thrive. The food is great. The house corned beef hash is delicious and thankfully doesn't resemble the dog food looking stuff that comes from the can. The Irish Bene will fill you up, but leave you wanting more (you won't have room for more, but you'll want it and maybe be a little upset that you let your dining companions have a bite). The veggie bene is really good as well, loaded with flavor, even the carivours will like it. The Reuben had the perfect ratio of sauce cheese and sauerkraut to meat. I prefer a more soury sauerkraut, but I'm probably in the minority on this, and the meat was perfectly sliced, so no points lost. Buttermilk chicken sandwich was yummy, next time I'll be sure to ask for extra of the sauce even though they put plenty on both buns, it's just that good and I want to dip my fries in it. read more

I've been to Rusty's on the weekend three times in the last month or so for breakfast and I highly recommend it. Nearly all of the servers are friendly and competent and the food is good. This is NOT the place to go if you're in a hurry; there are a lot of tables and the food isn't always fast on a weekend. But if you can stand to wait, it's worth it. On most of my visits, I end up with a fruit bread French toast, which is delicious. The others in my party can also vouch for the hash (they serve both homemade and canned) and biscuits and gravy. I also tried the cinnamon bun French toast which is the sort of thing that makes for one or two delicious bites, but probably isn't something I'd order again (it's much too sweet for me... maybe share it with the table!). My family's favorite no frills brunch place. I like the tribute to "rusty" a local fireman that has since passed. Their cooks cares about what they do and their food is consistent, tasty, and fairly priced. Their side fruit salad is always so good and clean. I always order their nearly classic Benedict with spinach instead of the home fries (carb replacement when I'm able) and the husband always orders their sausage gravy and biscuit. read more

I could not believe what happened here.. maybe they only give good service to locals. We stayed in an Airbnb in Holyoke on our way to Vermont and found this place that had decent reviews to grab breakfast. There was a small wait which we expected on a Saturday morning. We waited about 15 minutes for a seat. When we were finally seated, it took the server over 15 min to come and take our order. This was strike one. She took our drink and food orders and we sat there for 45 min waiting for our food. We thought maybe service is slow here. It's annoying but it's fine we'll wait. But we kept looking around and people who sat after us were finishing their food. We felt invisible. It's not even like we were in the corner of the restaurant.. we were right by the kitchen so our server had to pass us every time she went to go pick up someone else's order. Not once did she ask us how we were doing or ever questioned by we didn't have any food on our table. That was strike two. We were finally fed up so one of us went to another server and said can you check on our order. We saw her go into the kitchen and ask the cooks if they had an order for our table and we clearly saw them all look and say no there's no order. Then we saw her walk over to our server and ask about our table. She said did you ask the kitchen which she replied yes. Then our server proceeded to look through her pockets and find out order in her pocket. IT WAS IN HER POCKET FOR 45 MINUTES. STRIKE THREE. The other server came by and said our order will be out soon. We told her no way and we left. Not once did our server come by and apologize. When we told them we were just going to leave, they said okay like they did nothing wrong. We were so mad that we wasted over an hour there.. only to walk out of there after drinking a glass of water. Locals might love this place but I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant before. This was a first. Rusty's needs to hire younger more mindful servers. read more

This is by far my favorite breakfast place in Wmass. Best bang for your buck if you are looking for quality food. They keep things reasonable and old school in pretty much every way -- 2 dollar homefries as a side, 2 pancakes for 6 bucks, all sandwiches are 9 bucks and include fries; old school decor, old lady waitresses, old fashioned quality American-style meals, infinite refills on coffee. When they have it the buttermilk chicken sandwich is incredible. I drive here from Hadley all the time. While places like Jake's in Northampton choose to extort locals with a literal 20 dollar plate of pancakes and homefries, Rusty's holds down the quality food without burning your wallet. read more
