I took my kids here the other day when the wait for ihop (my kids choice, not mine) was too long. I couldn't have been happier for that outcome. I think the ihop in Enfield is well above most others, but The Farmers House was something else entirely. The food was so good and the kids talked about it all day. The staff were quick and friendly, but busy. We all got something different (French toast, an omelette, and kids pancakes) and each of the three of us were very pleased with our choices. They don't do anything here you haven't had before, but they do everything very well. The only thing I could say was not great, and I hate complaining about things like this, is the parking. I know that's got little to do with the restaurant itself, but it is not the easiest spot to get in and out of, especially with everything going on at the X lately. read more

We really wanted to like this cute restaurant. It is nicely decorated, the waitstaff was friendly, and the food was mostly pretty good. However, our party of four waited 50 minutes for our breakfast. Even coffee took quite a while to arrive. A canned coke was delivered 20 minutes after ordering. Three out of the four entrees were served after waiting for 50 minutes, the other one took an additional 5 minutes and we waited for another 5 minutes to receive the side. The food was mostly good - Omelet was chock full of meat and was delicious. Bacon was really good. Burger was average and fried chicken was kind of meh - crispy, but very dry. We did enjoy the live acoustic music. It was great to hear live music in the morning since most places only have it at night. Wonderful friendly service, Excellent food, and so nice, clean, new inside with a cute farmer's house motif.. Hey, that's the name of this place right? The carefully curated menu has all the classic breakfast and lunch staples - omelets, eggs, pancakes, etc, and for later in the day, soups, salad, sandwiches, pork chops, NY steak and even fried chicken! I ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs over easy, and the bacon on the side, and everything arrived perfect and hot. Tender, crunchy, gooey deliciousness with the sandwich and bacon! The home fries were also tender on the inside with a delicate crust. Add salt if needed for that. I really liked how clean everything was here, and it was apparent that the owners take good care of their customers and establishment. Kudos! Overall, this place is pretty delish. Cool little atmosphere with great setup and friendly staff. Everyone was real nice and the food was really good. No pic but my son got a fried chicken sandwich that was lackluster. Also only 4 stars because his meal came out last and very late. Restaurants need to get kids food out first always. It wasn't the waitresses fault. I let her know. But she was extremely nice and understood. They did take it off the bill which we appreciated. I'd 100% go back though. Love a good breakfast spot and the home fries were really well cooked (which usually is a big part of my breakfast reviews). read more

Excellent experience dining here. We were looking for something easy to get too off the highway to eat a good meal and it was delicious! Fresh cooked everything... sandwiches, fried chicken (the fries were amazing!)...even breakfasts...we all enjoyed our meals and drinks thoroughly! I was somewhat reservered about this place because of how many times the reviews have let me down... we got here just as they opened on a Saturday morning. Everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was great! The omelets were huge and tasty, the server was also the chef and he was super nice. The restaurant was warm and inviting, however our one criticism was the restaurant was colder temperature wise. Maybe because they just opened it hadn't warmed up but other than that we had 4 breakfast dishes coffees and a chocolate milk for under $70. The meat lovers omelet had like a pound of bacon in it. It was STUFFED! Lots of value and you can tell these people take pride in what they do. I don't think 4 people can have lunch at Wendi's for less than $70. This will be our go to breakfast joint anytime we go to MGM in the future. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Food is fresh, tastes good, nicely plated and good portion size. Fried plantains were crisp, & sweet but not greasy. Mango smoothie had good mango flavor & thick. Nice casual atmosphere with pleasant wait staff. It's unfortunate the cooking staff is severely understaffed. Parking is limited in their parking lot. My first time to try this breakfast and lunch restaurant which is locally owned and right in the middle of the "x" in downtown Spgfld and I am not disappointed. This was my 1st time there . I went because my friend was playing live music . Was nice having live music while having breakfast . I ordered the fajita omelet with steak and my Gf got the Hawaiian omelet . They got our drinks right away and took our order in like 10 minutes. It took at least 45 minutes for the food too come out , I think I had four cups of coffee while we waited . My omelet was good . Plenty of steak and veggies , a little salsa would have made it better . My Gf Hawaiian omelet was much better with the pineapple made it refreshing and a different kinda flavor for breakfast. Everything else was warm, but they must have finished the eggs first and not kept them under a warmer. We ordered a smoothie, and they added sugar, which made it a bit too sweet. Via a delivery way I ordered it done plus phoned the place just to make sure a certain method is done terms of my eggs & unknowingly I wasn't aware they would miss on maple syrup with a pancake order in this, I had a farmers breakfast with eggs, home fries and sausage patties, extra sausage patties and pancakes & seems food is interesting but might need little refining (oh before I forget that first thing had toast). I do have leftovers which is nice & being it the place gets from local farmers as well is good but might need refining a little. Now you know plus photos coming anyway. Oh yeah I tried that sausage and was good but seemed pepper was high & wee spicy. Food was mid , we waited almost 2 hours for our food and there was only 1 chef cooking. I'm never going back.

I would rate zero if there was an option. The staff is amazing, BUT, there is no leadership. A ship without a captain. Made a reservation for 11:30 am on a Saturday. It was 11:50 before we got our first cup of coffee. Noon before they took our order and over ONE ADDITIONAL hour, they kept promising the food would be ridght up, but we watched every table in the place was turned over twoce in the time we were there. Well, after 1.5 hours of just coffee, empty promises and no food, cancelled the order and left. I have owned two very successful restaurants and it was clear that what this place needs is a leader/ facilitator to promote accuracy and timely service. The back of the house has no direction. No apology from the owner, no offer to correct the situation, actually, blew us off. Ended up going to Memos in West Springfield and had a great meal. Unfortunate because the staff is so wonderful, but this place is doomed unless they get their sh@t together. I will not return to this restaurant. read more

The cook who was making the food addressed Me and then a young lady asked for my Order. I ordered my food explained it was My 1st time there..an it was told to me Thru Yelp it was highly recommended. I waited about 15 to 20 minutes for my food . However there was several People who came after me who received Their food..A gentleman next to me was Eating a Steak, at that point I went up to cashier for assistance. She informed me that my food was coming, at that point I gave her another 10 minutes. My food still didn't come ,I asked for a refund and the cook stated he was very Busy and apologized..he said it was his bag And told the cashier to refund me my money.
