We've had Home Team for almost 8 years. They started out really great and our tech has always been amazing (David) however the last year or two the communication has gotten pretty bad with them and they sent a lot of text messages which look a lot spam. also most calls from them come from different numbers and many times show as spam on my phone. They weren't horrible but then I got the third degree when cancelling our service. We are allowed to decide to go with another service and I felt like they got very defensive with me. I asked for an email confirming our cancellation but instead got several calls from managers asking why we cancelled and defending their service. (We will see if I get the confirmation email.) We just didn't feel very valued as a customer and felt more like a number, we went with a smaller more family owned company. We only stayed as long as we did because of how much we liked the tech who would actually service our home. In terms of scheduling they would pick a day towards the end of the month and text it to me with no timing window. I always then had to call to set up a window timing like 8-12 or 12-5, I was told I could only do this by calling. I work from home and can't have the dog going crazy during calls. If I wasn't able to do the day they sent, most times I couldn't pick a new day because it had to be done during that month and they scheduled it almost on the last day of the month... I asked for after the 23rd each month but they usually ended up being almost the last day of the month. All that said our tech was always amazing but has no control over the front office. read more

We first met David at my sister's home. Praise Jesus, he continues to be our technician. He is professional, thorough and in the rare ocassion that there are issues, he comes with a wonderful attitude and always reiterates, "please let me know if you have any issues." I been with HomeTeam Pest Defense little over a year. They don't come out to your house on Saturdays if needed. I'm busy with my work schedule during week, so it's hard to stay home and allow them to come into my home and have access to the backyard. I told them if they can come on a Saturday. They said they can't schedule it during a week day so they rescheduled it for a Saturday for me so they made a exception. "They been coming to my home on Saturday since I started the service". All of a sudden, they said they can't come out on a Saturday, and they were never supposed to come on a Saturday. That wasn't my fault that they allowed a technician to come on a Saturday. So if you need a service to be done on a Saturday, they will not come. read more

Had them for 3 months and just did not work out. Had infestation of springtails they couldn't get rid of, all sorts of spiders and a scorpion! I called and told them they needed to come back and spray the inside again. They came and only did the outside and never told me the time frame they were going to be here. When I called and asked, they said "well you didn't request a call". What the hell does come and spray the inside of my house mean?! Terrible customer service. Will not use them Update: Lori S. Asked this gentleman to not solicit his services at my new home; I had even placed a "No Solicitation" sign on my front door. Instead of apologizing, he then texts me on and on about his services. This isn't my first new home purchase, so I'm very familiar with this company all throughout San Antonio. Basically he tells me he's not soliciting just there to "inform". Please look up the definition of what it means to "solicit". All I ask is to respect the owners property, how hard is that? If a property has a no solicitation sign please go through the appropriate channels to make contact. The sales office can contact me directly versus having your business cards end up flying all over the complex. We are currently using home team for pest control in our new home. After moving in we found a roach egg and two dead roaches in the kitchen so I definitely wanted someone to come out to prevent any more. So far we have had them come out twice (once for the initial visit and again for a follow up that included a complimentary fire ant treatment). Coordinating everything was so easy and convenient. My sales rep Leo explained all the services to me in detail. He also went through payment information and was available to answer my questions, even through text! Both of the technicians that came out were courteous and thoroughly completed their work and sprayed in all the areas we requested. After the second visit we only found one roach and it was dead- meaning that their services worked! My one complaint would be that they are on the pricier side - however, we are happy with their customer service and having a pest free home! read more

I've been with the San Antonio branch for almost 5 years. Service was ok. Last December when I got home the technician was leaving and I don't know if he sprayed the yard because it was dry. My payment didn't go through because my card on file had to be cancelled. I planned to pay the balance, I mean I've always paid. They called a couple of weeks ago to set up service for tomorrow (31 March) no mention of past due balance. We've been planning for this. I call today to confirm and was informed that my account has been closed. Really? Thought my almost 5 year history proved that I will pay. The service wasn't even good the last time. Very unhappy with their service. My husband and I bought a new house last summer, and it turned out that we had lots of wasps in the backyard. We had a HomeTeam pest defense team member come over because I was concerned about multiple cicada killer nests right next to our back porch, and another kind of wasp nest right above our porch. The guy explained that he couldn't remove the nest above because it was too high for him to reach. Ok, that's fair. Then he proceeded to step on one of the cicada killer nests, informed me that I'm in Texas now, and that there are lots of bugs in Texas. I thought that was incredibly rude and unprofessional, and obviously very unhelpful since I am aware that I live in Texas and that there are lots of bugs here. Also, I am not sure what kind of chemical they use to treat interior spaces but it definitely did not help us get rid of spiders and ants inside our house. read more

I would avoid them. They do not back their service up. Their sales team lies, and their customer service department is bad. Their spray failed to do the job in my yard, so unlike their competitors, they charged me to retreat even though the sales team said otherwise. I don't recommend doing business with liars. read more

Spoke with Yvonne Limon who is forcing me to continue service on my home because of a contract that was not signed by me. She says it was signed with a "signature" and has my address therefore I have to continue the service. I've been calling since July to try to cancel the service and have not been allowed to. Every time I speak to Yvonne she cuts me off and speaks over me. I spoke with another employee last week who told me it was ok to cancel then Yvonne called right back to tell me I had to continue the service. I've explained to Yvonne that my signature is not on the contract and that obviously doesn't matter to her. She needs some training on customer service. read more

I was using this company from March 2020 through October 2020. I paid all 4 installments. There were always still spiders and ants. I asked them to come back again to treat the ants and they ants came back about a week later. Frustrated, I submitted a review and a manager reached out to me. She said she would come with the tech to make it right. I let them know during the week was hard for me and asked about Saturday, but that if it needed to be during the week I could make arrangements. At that point the manager said she couldn't go and she would be sending the trainer. The trainer told me Monday through Friday was best for him. I told them to send someone the next day after finding a lot more ants. No reply. I replied back and said I took care of the ants myself and wanted to cancel my account. No reply. I reach out via the website and whoever answers those messages tells me my account is cancelled. At least have the decency to reply back to me. What a waste of $398. read more

"SERVICE SUSPENSION NOTICE!" "...Avoid Having Your Account Submitted For Collection... Despite repeated reminder notices on our part to discuss your past due account, our records indicate you that you have still not paid...avoid having your account submitted for collection by making a payment in full within the next 5 days." I call on the phone...and it is "Oh, sorry...uh, just disregard that..." Technical came to the house and I was not home. He then felt ok for him to hook up his water hose to my waterline to fill up his tanks. I NEVER GAVE AUTHORIZATION to use my water. No phone call was made to ask nor conversation in previous treatments. I already pay for a service why then must you use MY water. Beware I called the office and they said it is a common practice for them. They said they usually ask the homeowner for permission and so when homeowner is not home they just take the water. So you charge us for service and use our water? Want us to provide the chemicals also... I will be in the market for another pest control company.
