I have always had a pest control company service my home. So, having HomeTeam service my new house is not anything new for me. However, I've never had a SmartHome until just recently. Many of the things we needed to do for our previous homes, is now somewhat different from what we need to do now. HomeTeam offers something called Taexx. It's a built-in feature that adds protection, and prevention from insects, bugs, and creepy crawlers. This system is built into the walls of our new home, and allows their technicians to connect and provide pest services to the Taexx network, (inside the walls) without needing to come inside your home, and spray. But, if you would like for them to come in, and spray inside, or even outside, they will upon request, for no additional charge. So far it has been a nice feature to have. I haven't had any bugs, spiders, rodents, frogs or lizard problems. Especially since our home is right on the lake, which always comes with extra insects. I pray that our home stays insect free, because I am terrified of bugs, and rodents, and have no problem leaving the house to them. read more

I have been a customer for 10 years - they have been reliable and our home has been protected - but I have a new reason for the review - due to an error I had committed in online payment and had a check sent that was over 1000 versus the normal fee (decimal point misplaced). Not only did they call me (unsolicited !) when they got the incorrect check, they made sure I was not waiting for the money sent in error. Everyone (and there were 3 people ultimately involved) was pleasant responsive and most importantly honest to their word. Debating cancelling termite service solely based on customer service experience. I've asked many times to have monthly bills sent to me so I know to pay the termite bill. They never send a bill then call me a couple months later saying my account is past due. Can't pay a bill I don't know exists. Talked to someone today who assured me bills are emailed every month and to check my junk mail. Which there is nothing there. I check it often. They are also no trying to force customers on auto-pay. read more

The people who come out and spray are pretty nice but the contracts are a bit sketchy. We had home team ( for pest control never termite treatment or baiting ) and cancelled Bc we didn't see any changes . My home was built with built in pest control and termite sentricons . When tried to locate sentricons for Massey , for termite prevention ,couldn't find them . Only after a call to Home team we Found out that they came onto our property and removed sentricons without our awareness Bc we cancelled pest control. Then the young lady suggested that my husband ( she wasn't aware I was on the call) have a talking to , to his wife about canceling services he wasn't aware of . First of all he paid for the service and we both agreed we didn't see a change so Cancel and second of all , that's just really seemed inappropriate. Why do I have to pay to have sentricons replaced when I didn't ask for them removed .i guessy biggest complaint would be I paid to have my house built with them without having a contract with home team so why now do they take them out .I'm a 72 home community a large portion switched from home team and I can see why. When they start the services they sell you on a barrier spray that will last one year for termites. my neighbor In less than one year had termites in his home but because he didn't want to renew his contract they wouldn't honor original warranty . Raymond came out on a Saturday and he was very friendly and professional! He went through the paperwork very thoroughly and answered all our questions. He also had us come outside and showed us different bugs and explained what he was spraying for. He also found some other things with the screen and pointed it out. His service was outstanding and very happy that he is the normal service guy for this area. I have been bitten a total of 11 times from standing in my bathroom getting ready to work to be in my closet getting dressed and in the laundry room washing dishesWhen I called them to let them know that I've been having these issues and my grandkids also coming over and getting bed sitting on the floor of my house the lady was it less than helpful it was the rudest customer service I have ever had. Wanted to give them zero stars but it won't allow. A neighbor recommended them and we gave them a try for a few months. Had a major issue with them about 2 months ago and will not use them ever again. They hire people who have NO IDEA what they are doing and have no idea on bugs. Don't hire this company . I use to have a contract with these guys. Ask ( formally ) to call before each visit to my house to make inside , outside and garden pest control. After my second contract renew and expired they send me a bill $ 139 . I call then and remember the service was not made and request service as properly accorded in order to pay the bill They start to treat me , stalk me and send letters , calls etc treat me to pay the bill and just ignore my service request. After I post my experience on twitter somebody called me , asking to erase my complains on twitter , recognizing that I request call before any visit and waiver the wrong charge. After couple weeks I received a letter that they send me to debt collectors. Update : I received a call today from HP , telling me that the letter that I received was voided . They said to me that I don't have balance there and promises to make the properly service next week . read more

This company is the epitome of bad customer service. Set everything up last Thursday and provided routing and account number for bill processing. We take time off work on a Friday so they could come to our home and spray. When they arrive they ask for a voided check, this was never mentioned previously over our initial call. Being that My wife was home and I was not, there was no checkbook at the house, though if this was mentioned on initial setup we would have had this planned out. Being we did not have a voided check to give to them they would not proceed with service, keep in mind we gave our bank info on initial call. We then set up another appointment for today, Monday. Today they no called no showed. What a joke, if I ran my company like this we would have been out of business years ago. Stay away! read more

Customer service is very poor. An issue with our account pooped up, and instead of using care that one would expect from the customer service industry, all they had was excuses. There was not a single person in a management position that would make themselves available to reslove this issue and get the relationship back on track. Would not recommend at all!! had pest control and termite service with them for over 8 years, bought a new house requested to turn off the pest control services not the termite, they removed the termite without any notice and moved there stations too, called to ask why was it removed without any notice and they even located my phone call of just to remove pest control, I called several times they keep telling me the manager will call to discuss the matter but never received a phone call. I had termite control at my new house too and today I received an email that the stations were removed from the location, this is so un professional, both my houses have no termite protection! I would not recommend them at all, do not ever get there services, I am so worried about getting termite it cost a lot to start a new service. read more

I', not one to do write these kind of complaints. However on August 13 wa had Home Team out to insoect and treat for what we found out where ghost ants. Tech arrived prompt and on time. Very nice guy. Asjed about our issue and told him. Ant issues where in the master bath, one of the other bathrooms and we've seen them on the floor neae the family room kitchen area. This is where it goes down hill. He places large globs of bait on the sides on one vanity despite being told they were on both. Spots of bait were placed on the wall near the mirror on the same vanity. Randomly in middle of nowhere. Then he sprayed the bathroom. Ignoring the large window by the bathtub that I pointed to where they were as well. The sprayed the doorway going into the master bedroom as well as part of the carpet there too. He went to the second bath sprayed and then asked if I wanted to check the other bathroom. I told him yes they were seen in there as well as near the kitchen. Looks in the bathroom and just sprayed. I'm ok wth that. At this point he would spray random spots along the wall and at the base of the front door. As well as spraying the carpet we had laying in front of the door. Never entered tke kitchen to inspect at all. We were told they would spray the garage. Nope just by the roll up garage door. Never even walked into the laundry room to check since it links the garage and the kitchen. After he left I noticed large puddles of the insecticide in various spots. Four hours later those puddles were still there. I had to go wipe them up to prevent our dog from licking it and geting on his paws. Our dog's paws are aready sore from skin allergies. Next day drove my cancellation notice to their office. There I spoke with a lady in the office and explained to her why we were cancelling. I was offered a refund and stated the area manager would call to set up and inspection to try and keep our business. Never heard back. Emailed them back inquiring about my refund and that we never heard from the manager. Still no replay. I advised them I would sing their praises on soical media but guess they caring about that as much with their quality of work. read more

Although the actual exterminators are awesome (especially Bob) the management is a nightmare, and I advise you to stay clear. Not only would random bills arrive for no reason, when I finally tried to terminate the service, they refused to acknowledge my emails and phone calls and my husband's as well. Filed a complaint with the state due to their negligent tech spraying our well with pesticide. Some techs were great but their staff was the russian roulette of expertise. They were growing too fast and could not handle me an existing customer properly. I was moved from this office to a new one which was their answer for the variability.
