Marks Automotive repair had my van for almost two weeks, did nothing but plug in a code reader then…read morecharged me $397 and wouldn't even offer to make the repairs they deemed urgent. I have a diy campervan that I was trying to get ready for a road trip from Nashville to New England and everywhere in between. I brought it to Marks Auto repair in Mt Juliet mechanic (same one for 17 years) to get routine service and a new steering gear box. I was told that my van was not fit to do a 3000 mile trip and instead of camping, I should just get hotels. I was charged $397.00 for them to give me driver error codes (P1207) and tell me not only did my gear box need replaced, but my transmission was gone, my entire ABS system needed replacement and my engine could seize up and leave me stranded. Mark Jr. told me they didn't even want to repair it because it would be a lot of work and not worth the money for an older (2004 Ford e150) vehicle. I was devastated! I had this trip planned for almost a year and only had a month to get a repair and routine service. I pulled the carfax and the records were spotless and precise (except for the entries that Marks Auto repair put in). I bought this van as a state vehicle in AZ and knew it had immaculate maintenance and service records. I knew the transmission just needed a drain and fill, new oil, and an all around check on tires etc... I took it to a trusted friend for a solid 2nd opinion and the gearbox was gone (I knew that) but friend said Transmission probably just needed a drain and fill, and that it would be fine. The Ford econolines were made to outlast. Some having 300-400k miles on them. Mine had 160k. Strange thing was, when I popped the hood to see if they had changed/filled any fluid (since I paid almost $400) there were no signs of ANYONE there. No finger prints, no swipe marks from someone leaning over the engine, nothing! There was the same dirt with no disruptions as there was 4 months prior when I put a new battery in myself! They had my van for almost two weeks and only gave me useless Marta codes that were from raving the engine while in park (rpm vs torque error). The ABS codes or light hasn't come on except on rare occasion, but Mark jr made it seem as if I was going to lose my brakes completely and have a tragic and sudden loss of control. Scary and dramatic! Long story, but this is not the first time Marks has been less than helpful and actually defeated the purpose of even bringing my vehicle into them on other occasions. For example, I had an oil leak in an '07 Mustang that had leaked onto my garage floor and they told me to just watch the fluid level, it didn't need to be fixed!? What? So for years, I had to put a pad under my car because I just trusted what they said. Now I know better. Now I know there are other mechanics who want to do the work, gain trust and don't swindle or use scare tactics to get you off the lot. I brought my van into Marshall Automotive repair in Hermitage, they listened and tested the all the things. They replaced the steering gearbox got it aligned, changed my fluids, looked over all the other systems and gave me a thumbs up for the trip. It was a long, difficult journey and I did it solo. To be honest, there were some scary thoughts in my head thinking "what if Mark Jr. was right?" Completely paranoid at times and questioning everything made it difficult to truly enjoy my vacation to the fullest, but I had to trust my gut and my gut said Marks Auto repair was wrong. And they were! So, here we are.... $400 in the hole for absolutely nothing and 3000k miles later... whatcha gonna do Mark's?

They took the time to explain to me what was going on with my car so I always knew what work was being done and what to expect. The price was very fair and they had my car fixed and ready to go in two days! I highly recommend Marks Automotive.

As an update to my earlier post, my check engine light came on THE DAY AFTER I picked up my truck…read moreand paid the additional $$$$. When I called to schedule an appointment to have the truck serviced under the warranty they provided as part of their "service", I was transferred from Trish to the "owner" of the garage , who proceeded to yell and curse me (and yea, I yelled and cursed back), but he REFUSED to honor the warranty and told me to "go fck myself and find someone else to fix your piece of sh#t": Based on what other customers say about this place, it's a decent shop as long as they don't really have to work to fix a problem that a backyard mechanic could handle. I will again state that they do not do business above board and will look to wring the most amount of money out of their customers for the least amount of work. I have better things to do with my time, but I will be filing suit against them for failing to honor their warranty just because I hurt their feelings with a negative business review. Sad business practice

. Checked local vw TDI recommended mechanics and found European Motorworks…read more VW are "special" and if you find your non-dealership repair team - you become loyal fast. ISSUE: Our 2012 glow plug AND engine light was lit. Shop diagnosed recommended repairs - we agreed upon the repairs and expected to get our vehicle back drivable. We picked up the vehicle- 15 minutes later the engine light coded AGAIN and we spent allot of money only to return the vehicle for diagnosis. Owner recommended we attempt VW and second diagnosis was diesel particulate- how can this be? We spent allot of time and money to get the vehicle in drivable (ie no check engine light) condition- owner suggested another new equally expensive repair - Had enough run around and brought car to the professionals who was our trusted repair team and got a repair list a mile long that European never shared or reported to us. We should never have had the glow plug repair done and we should have driven vehicle straight to a junkyard A professional will admit his errors and apologize but based on the reviews we know he will become defensive, immature, and confrontational about a review that isn't positive Beware bringing your vehicle here - it's sad when people air their opinion in public and the owner, rather than take ownership, responds like a child

My got new tires put on my car the other day, but the tire shop didn't do alignments!…read more They tire shop recommended Christian Bros. for the alignment and said if I mentioned Discount Tires I'd get a 20% discount... let's go!!! I made an appointment, showed up right when they opened and they were already packed! They said it would take at least two-three hours to fix, but they had a shuttle service that could take me home. I love that level of customer service! BTW, they took me to a local coffee shop instead of my home, per my request. When I came back for my car, I was sent a text message with a full break down of what they fixed and a list of things I should keep an eye out for. If I wanted to get said items fixed, I could just tap the item in the text and it would tell my mechanic to start working on that part! WTF?! It was pretty awesome. For an alignment, balance, oil change, and two air filters replaced it was about $280. Score! I will definitely be back to Christian Bros for the next round or auto needs!

Never trust this place !!!!!!…read more I went last year to get my car serviced, their water pumped failed and I took it back. They said it was fixed but I needed to replace my engine. I went to pick up my car and it was in worse condition. I finally took my car that had every warning single on. They tried to sell me a 10k job and the real issue was their HORRIBLE mechanics left stuff unplugged this place is a joke save yourself do not go here Almost a year later my car is completely fine and never needed the engine replacement
