    They gave me a migraine

After brunch I realized I have 4 teen boys to entertain. So we can we do to keep them busy. One of these rooms!! We did the jailbreak. Unfortunately, we were over by 4mins.. I'm watching them and my head hurts. But the staffs were really nice. Have us clues when they know we need help but too stubborn to ask. Place was clean and tidy.. Great space. Love to try other rooms without the boys.

We visited Hometown Escapes last Saturday and had a blast! We were in the "Black Beard's Cabin" room which was a fun family-friendly room for our group. This was a birthday gift to our 8 year old niece who had never done an escape room before. I couldn't have been more pleased with the setup - she had so much fun! About Black Beard's Cabin: This room wasn't super difficult and we were able to get out in less than 40 minutes without any hints, but the 4 adults also have a lot of experience with escape rooms. There are A LOT of lock boxes to figure out, but they often color coordinated the clues with the lock box which was definitely a reason we were able to get out faster. There was a good assortment of clues where we really had to think and work as a team. The room itself wasn't very big compared to other places I've played, so I would recommend a group size of 2-6 people. I would highly recommend this to groups with kids or teens. Additional things I like about Hometown Escapes: - Easy online booking and payment - Private rooms for just your group! Yay! - Family-friendly rooms - Friendly staff We plan to go back at try the other rooms in the future. We were also told they're currently putting together a Christmas room for the holiday season.

We came to do Temple of Light and loved it so much that we came back a week later to do the Sunken Realm. The guides are incredible, they all play their roles so well and with so much character and fun. Owen, who was our guide in the Temple of Light, was so much fun, so in character, and absolutely made the experience for us. Sarah, and the other guide that we had for the Sunken Realm, were also wonderful. They were both very excellent at their roles and really made us feel like we were living the events. Overall, an incredible escape room experience, 10/10 would come again.

Our guide Connor was so kind and the way he got into character for the experience was insane. We had a blast with him & he was great about providing hints without giving too much away--it was perfect. The puzzles were intriguing and never felt too easy. We'll definitely be going back to try out some new rooms because this place is awesome! I think this spot deserves a LOT of attention.

Fun escape room located in the mall. We booked the room in advance on their website. It is pricier…read morethan other escape rooms in the area and is more expensive per person if you have only 3 people. That being said, the theatrics, room size, props, and attentive staff make the price worth it. The employee running our room was incredible. They kept up with everything and provided assistance as needed. While in Charlotte, we chose to do the Wild West room. Some of the items in the room were previously broken, but at least the employee running the game was aware and warned us ahead of time. This removed some of the excitement involved with solving a clue but did not prevent us from enjoying the room. I also did not like how our group was separated in the beginning. Seemed pointless to set up the story in this way. The people separated in the beginning are at a disadvantage since they are not able to do anything for about 5-10 min and don't know all the items that were found before joining up with the group. If there was something to do in that separate area then it would make more sense. Additionally, there isn't a great place to set things. There are many props (which I like) but we didn't know where to place them when finished with them since they would block other clues. In other escape rooms, the moderator/host have informed us of a table or chair not part of the game where we can set personal items or used items. That being said, this escape room is a step up in theatrics from other rooms. The story was good and the clues were tricky without being impossible. Plus it's easy to reserve a room online, we started on time, and the mall bathrooms are close by. Overall we recommend this escape room to others!

Escapology Escape Rooms Charlotte has some strong points. The room themes are well-designed,…read moreimmersive, and visually interesting. Unfortunately, the overall experience fell short compared to many other escape rooms we have played. My group has completed every escape room in Charlotte, along with numerous rooms in other states and several overseas, so we have a broad basis for comparison. One of the biggest issues was the size of the rooms. They felt cramped and crowded, and while the advertised capacity may be higher, the rooms seem best suited for two to four players at most. The puzzles were also frustrating at times. Many of the clues felt overly convoluted, and the room lacked a clear sense of progression. Rather than flowing naturally from one puzzle to the next, the challenges often felt disconnected and lacked cohesion. The game management also impacted our experience. We were told that the game masters were monitoring multiple rooms simultaneously, which appeared to contribute to delays. At one point, we successfully completed a piano-based puzzle multiple times, but nothing happened. After repeating it several times, a game master finally noticed and advanced the puzzle. Situations like this can be particularly frustrating when time is limited. Overall, Escapology Charlotte offers attractive themes and creative room designs, but the small room sizes, inconsistent puzzle flow, and game-master oversight issues detracted from the experience. With some refinements, it could be a much stronger escape room destination.

It was very well done, and much more challenging than we were anticipating. We had a good time and thought the staff was great as well. Looking forward to coming back to try another room.

From high end gaming chairs, a selection of Xbox, PlayStation and PC gaming devices to individual monitors, headsets and games projected on the walls, my kids and their friend had an amazing 2 1/2 hours of gaming fun. Our host (Mr. Reilly) was so knowledgeable and so patient. He stayed in the room helping get everyone setup accordingly and even shared some tips and tricks. The cherry on top of the day was the owner and his hospitable spirit that started from the time we arrived. He even put the NCAA tournament on the big screen so we parents could relax and check our brackets :). If you have a gamer in the family and want to do something fun, we highly recommend getting a dozen or so of their friends together for a battle royale at Escape Kings!!!

We booked the only room that was available and just our luck, it was the most difficult room (besides Aztec Ruins, which is difficult because you have the chance to win an Xbox). We did the Ghost Hunters room where you are set in a scene where you are trying to set a ghost's spirit free. Definitely spooky! You are allowed three clues, so use them wisely! This experience was different for us because there were a lot of locks but not all had to be opened, so pay attention to the story line. The location is conveniently located near Carowinds so if you are out of town and need some other activities to do besides the amusement park, this is a great option! The staff here is SO friendly. You can tell that they are all so smart and love what they do. The game maker even added personal touches to really make the birthday boy special.
