Who knew out in the boonies of Mississippi you'd find some good rib eye steaks??? The co-workers and I ordered fried dill pickles, sweet potato fries, 12 oz. rib eye steaks with Texas toast and baked sweet potato. The fried dill pickles seemed to be overcooked. We told our waitress (who looked and sounded exactly like Paula Deen) thinking she was going to make another batch but she came back saying that they removed it from our bill. She said that they just got a new fryer so they're still adjusting. That was pretty nice of them. The sweet potato fries covered in powdered sugar was just OK. Then came out the rib eye steak....it was pretty freakin' good!! I ordered mine medium and it was cooked to perfection and very juicy. The baked sweet potato was great too, I only needed to add a little bit of butter and brown sugar and I was in heaven. To top it off their homemade sweet tea just hit the spot in the humid weather out there. They also have a buffet salad bar included with dinner. I didn't really have much of the green stuff because I wanted to save space for the real stuff. My boss did mention they had a wine and cheese dressing that he liked. We split the bill three ways and I spent a total of $25 for all that food including tax and a 20% tip because Mrs. Paula Deen was such a sweetheart! I think the drive out in the middle of nowhere was worth it for that oh-so delicious meal!

I checked in and posted a photo so I hope this isn't redundant but oh well here goes. We saw the Yelp listing and we were up in Philadelphia so we took the short drive down to Lee's. It was definitely worth the drive. The steaks were delicious and we really enjoyed the sweet potatoes as well. The service was great and very friendly. Most of the locations and maps kept taking us to the wrong place. As you come through Sebastopol ignore the GPS trying to take you to the empty lot in town and just keep driving. The restaurant is about a mile or so South of town on the right side (West side). One last thing, to all of those who complained about the salad bar, get over it. You're in Mississippi and not New York. It wasn't overly fancy but for a simple salad at it was fine. You're probably not driving here for the lettuce anyway. I guarantee you that you'll go away satisfied.

Great small town restaurant. Some of the best steaks I've had while eating out. Great customer service as well.

The exposed brick and thoughtful décor struck the perfect balance--classic and nostalgic with just the right touch of modern style. We were immediately welcomed by the sweetest hostess (I hate that I can't remember her name--she had glasses, a beautiful smile, and the cutest dress). She greeted us with genuine warmth and hospitality that's hard to come by these days. She led us into the main dining room and seated us at a charming table dressed in crisp white linens. The space featured more exposed brick, tasteful artwork, and just the right amount of décor. The temperature was perfect, and the tables were spaced far enough apart to create an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. Our waiter arrived promptly and was both friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly knew his craft and took the time to walk us through the specials, making sure we felt confident and excited about our choices. We ordered sweet tea, which was perfectly brewed--not overly sweet, just right. The complimentary peanut butter and crackers were something new to us, but after reading about the history behind it, we appreciated the thoughtful touch even more. Our food arrived quickly, and everything was fresh and cooked to order. We tried the spicy chicken sandwich, the cheeseburger, and a special featuring a panini with a cup of gumbo. Each entrée came with perfectly cooked homemade chips. Every bite was spot-on--truly a 10 out of 10. Even though we were full, we couldn't resist ordering dessert--when in Rome, right? We chose the peanut butter pie and the famous Black Bottom pie. After one bite of those generously sized slices, we all paused and just looked at each other. I don't exaggerate when I say we unanimously agreed they were the best pies we've ever had. What started as a plan to sample a few bites and take the rest to go ended with two completely empty plates. We consider ourselves food lovers, and I genuinely couldn't find a single flaw in the entire experience. We live nearly three hours away and are already planning a trip back. If you've made it this far in my amateur review, thank you--and I truly hope you get the chance to experience this wonderful, history-filled gem for yourself.

We ordered the blackened red fish and of course had the black bottom pie. Overall, good, and food came out quickly. Known to be the oldest restaurant in MS, a solid choice when in downtown Meridian.

My order , Loaded Bacon and Cheese Fries add steak PickUp Order. To our dismay the entire bottom cheese layer is and continues to be stuck to the paper liner which makes almost all of the bottom cheese layer inedible. Please ask pickup prep crew to stop lining your pickup boxes with paper that sticks to the cheese fries. Use foil sheets. This has happened on the last 3 orders we've placed from You guys. Second Bad, a full order of Bacon Cheese fries used to fill the entire bottom of the box. It Now it consists of two small handfuls of fries. Not the amount expected for $13. If I'm adding steak for $3-$4 extra I would expect more than 4 small pieces of steak. It used to have 10-12 pieces of steak when the order was $10 a box. I do understand that beef prices have increased but not so much that you skimp too much after raising prices on the order. I'll end on a positive. Sunday Chicken, the Cat is the best door greeter! Plus young ladies that work the front area are polite and personable. They should be recognized. Thank you and please take this as a constructive critique on the paper liner on orders involving cheese bottom layers.

Located near the bowling alley and a few other restaurants, the exterior decor looked nice with a country flair. Ambiance: 3.5 Stars The restaurant itself is small and cozy. It has about 10 booths and four tables (2 tables - seating of 4 and 2 tables - seating of 8). The booths can seat 4 or 5 if a chair is added to edge of the booth. The interior is more country style with pictures and southern decorative items. They have a one stall bathroom for Men and Women. Service: 4 Stars the servers were friendly, nice and were very helpful to answer your questions. Drinks were brought to us within two minutes after placing our orders and the meals arrived about 15-20 minutes due to lunch rush. Food: 3.5 Stars - Lunch Blue Plate Specials I ordered the hamburger steak with Mac-n-cheese and a half/half Tea. The tea arrived a hugh mason jar. Hamburger Steak: 3 Stars The grilled flat iron hamburger was the STAR of the show! It was juicy and had a nice char to the exterior. I say it was about a 6-8 ounce burger that was freshly made. The meat tasted wonderful with a clean beefy taste. You can tell a difference between a hand made burger versus a frozen pressed burger. Now, the gravy was too beefy. It took the flavor away from the burger itself. I scrapped most of the gravy to the side. It has too much of a umami taste, possibly from the beef bouillon or Worcestershire sauce. The Mac n Cheese was really creamy and cheesy. The noodles were slightly overcooked where the noodles would break apart when you use the fork to pick it up. If you are a Mac n Cheese fan, then you will like it. It was good but I think I will order the wonderful and crispy fries next time. My friend ordered the Cheesesteak sandwich w fries and Tea. 3.5 Stars He said the sandwich was good and the cheese melted nicely with the steak. However, the steak was thicker than normal cheesesteak meat. Not thinly sliced but was more hand cut with a knife in 1/4" thick. We believe the steak type was sirloin, which was tender and flavorful. The fries were hot, fresh and crispy. Had a sprinkled of sea salt and black pepper. They are open for dinner and I will definitely come back to try one of their steak entrees. Also, they have an attached butcher shop connected to the restaurant. Fresh hand cut meats, limited amounts of cheese, condiments and other items. I recommend this steakhouse.
