Unfortunately, Not a good experience for me,  Flooring installation. I purchased a new construction condo and the builder only offered LVP installation on the first floor. I was referred to Hometown Remodeling. Despite the nice, warm conversation at the beginning of this process, the end result was a nightmare. I was under a deadline, Mistake 1,  so I was told by who I believe was one of the owners Richard. In order to meet the deadline, I would have to select from the red dotted items, so I did,  mistake 2. Get what you really want. The project was stated to last 3 days yet it lasted 2.5 months.  Now, once the supplies "actually" arrived the nightmare started. This was a brand new home just built with no damage etc. The carpet was in the residence for maybe 2 weeks before a subcontractor of Hometown Remodeling entered my home. They damage my walls, doors, hand prints on my freshly painted white walls, I cant figure out how all this damage occurred when they were just installing flooring. Please note I was not living in the house yet, so I know it was not me or my movers.  There wasn't any furniture in the condo. Various pieces of LVP were chipped when they placed them on the floor leaving me to have to purchase wood puddy to fill these chips in my flooring.  The installation of my corner rounds or trims (although charged for new) were the old ones they removed. They were dirty, some cracked, also some were not cut at the proper angels, leaving the floor to look odd or out of place. Their attention to details was non-existent, with regards to the finished product as they called "turn and key". Then my stairs, they swear up and down that the stair nose was the matching piece for the LVP I selected, yet I have two different colors, the one I ordered and the similar color that is sold at Home Depot. The company of the flooring sided with Hometown Remodeling, yet I can clearly see a difference, can you?. Well,  paid my balance just to get them out of my home. In addition to paying them I had to pay another person to fix all the items that were damaged during this remodeling (flooring) project. I believe after 18 years their quality of work must be on the downward spiral and they are living off their name. I personally will never refer them as I spent three times the cost, I was charged for the disposal of carpet and the removal of my existing flooring, yet they used the dumpster onsite of the new complex. Life lesson for me. Learn from my mistake and find another company.

It's a scam and it is just crazy I've heard online people stating that they don't even work the way you're supposed to and they have to come and service them so yeah, be aware of these people coming to your door! Sadly, i didn't research as much as I maybe shouldve. They bid about $3000 higher than 2 other quotes i had recieved (one of which was also a GAF certified roofer offering the same certifications) . After i signed, then they would not price match for some lame reason or even consider lowering the cost or including doing drip edge flashing which the other company offered to do at the lower price. Come to find out as well, they did not recommend it, or consider installing drip edge flashing when i didn't have any at all on the roof which i wasnt aware of. When the roof was off i could definitely see some fascia rotting adn damage, so i get to do that myself now instead of when its easiest to do with the roof off.... The entire experience with Expert Solar has been an absolute nightmare…read more Expert Solar is not an honest company. The installation of the panels was delayed by 2 months without notifying us of the delay. The lack of communication with the project manager was unacceptable. The panel were finally installed in October. Our ratified contract stated that the 70K panels we installed on our roof would cover at least 85% of our energy consumption. The next 2 months we received a invoice for $800 from our local electric company. The panels were not producing any energy and we were still using local electricity. All the while, the app Solar Expert had installed on my husband's phone showed that our panels were producing over 90% of our consumption. It has been 6 months since the installation. We have spent 70K on panels, $1,300 on local electricity bills, Expert Solar then realized that the panels were not properly installed and sent out a crew for an entire day to correct the issue. They have not apologized, nor have they taken responsibility for their unprofessional behavior and their errors. I still support solar energy but regret having chosen Expert Solar. I would never recommend them. I will continue to fight this company, to receive the service that we were promised and for them to cover the high electricity bills for 5 months that we had to pay after paying Expert Solar 70K. Lorenzo and Ron are not very personable representatives. I find them to be unethical, immoral, and not trustworthy or honest. Unfortunately, they do not seem to know what it means to do the right thing. We just want them to honor the contract they made with us. In a world where we have lost all common sense and what it means to do the right thing, I hope to inform people and prevent them from having to experience the same disappointment, frustration and stress that we have had regarding the unprofessionalism and greed that Expert Solar represent.

I had solar panels added to my home by them in the fall of 2022. I'm sure that over the past few years, we have all seen different solar panel providers coming to our doors to try and get us to go solar. That happened with me. The first one that came out was from Ion Solar, but I wasn't as thrilled about them. They were too pushy, and they are also a national company, so they won't necessarily be tied to our area for years to come. Fast forward a little over a year later. One afternoon, I had two salespeople come to my door asking about my interest in solar. I had been interested at that time, so I talked with them. They were from Unlimited Solar. I did hear them out, and even though I was interested, the cost estimate was a bit of a shock, so I didn't pull the trigger on the project at that time. They asked if I was willing to have a sit down with them to go over more of the details, and I took them up on it, and it was scheduled for the following day. They didn't come the following day, but instead, the VP of Sales, Ray Kindley came instead. We had a great conversation that day, and in the end, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on going solar (this was around the end of April 2022). They work with GoodLeap for financing, and I was able to get a very low rate of 1.99%. When I asked about the power bank, he said it would add an additional 3 to 6 months for the approval process. Instead, he offered me a gas/propane generator instead at no added cost. It takes a while once the process gets started. The first step is that they have an inspection of the electrical panel, roof, and such to make sure it can be supported. Then, a site survey is conducted, so they use that to get plans drawn up to be approved by the city. The next steps are the longest parts of the process, as it comes to getting all the various approvals to do the solar install (city, electric company, and so on). During this process, Ray and his staff at Unlimited Solar kept me in the loop on the progression through the process. They work with Titan Solar, who did the actual install. As the fall season came, it was finally time to have the solar panels installed. The installation occurred on August 16, 2022. They were very thorough throughout the installation. They were aware of keeping things safe as they worked on it. There were a few times I had to go out for something, and they were really good about making sure everyone was safe when coming or going. The installation itself only took the one day. They did come back a few weeks later to take care of a few other things before the final inspections would take place. After that was completed, it was just a waiting game again for those final approvals from the city and Dominion Energy (including a meter change to track energy in and energy back out to the grid). At the beginning of October, the panels were turned on, but not sent to the grid until a week or so later when the final approval from Dominion Energy came through. I know a big question for everyone is how has going solar affected my electric bill. I wanted to share what it would have been like December through February (meteorological winter) since that is the time for the least amount of sunlight. Setting the same usage from 2022 and applying it to 2021 to give an apples-to-apples comparison. On average, if Dec 2021 - Feb 2022 had the same energy usage as Dec 2022 - Feb 2023, the average monthly costs were $86.75 and $44.14 respectively, which equates to an average of a 49% decrease in the electric bill. Overall, I am glad that I went solar. I am already seeing the returns in the sense that the electric bill is much lower now, and that when I pay the monthly financing payment along with that electric bill, the total amount is still lower than what I was paying for electricity before going solar. If you are thinking about or looking into doing solar on your home, I would totally take that a serious consideration. They are very open and transparent. If you do, make sure to reach out to Ray Kindley and Unlimited Solar as I highly recommend them. It's great to be able to work with a company that is local, honest and trustworthy.

The one I talked to about gutters showed me photos and some of the shingles had a hole in them and said I should have a roof inspection conducted. After that, I turned to Yelp to look for companies to have a roof inspection completed. There were several to choose from, and I had a few come out to look at the roof. Inspectors from two different companies were supposed to come out the following day. The first one was a no show, but Cleus Staple from Revamp Exteriors came out at the scheduled time. This visit occurred on July 13, 2025. We stated outside to look over the roof. He was thorough in checking out the roof. He confirmed the same thing the gutter representative told me. He also went into more detail and showed dips and such in the shingles too. We came inside and he went up into the attic to check out the roof from that angle. Apparently, some of the drilling for the solar panels I had gotten a few years back made a hole into the attic from the drilling of the solar panels. After that, we sat down so he could go over the product that would be used for rebuilding the roof, as well as changes in the building codes as the roof that was currently on there was over 20 years old. The old shingles were a three-layer design, while the newer version is a five-layer design. There was a waterproofing barrier as a part of it, as well as the roof would be resistant up to 130 mph winds too. He was able to answer every question I had asked, and he was up front and honest about everything. After going through everything, and based on this experience, I decided to pull the trigger and go with them to do the roof replacement. We got to choose from a variety of colors too. They do have financing available through Service Finance Company. They did tell me that it would be over a three-day period. The first day would be getting the solar panels down in preparation for install. The second day was the roof install, and the final day was getting the solar panels back up and running. After getting things settled, the roof replacement was scheduled to begin on July 23, 2025. A few days later, they were able to move up the start date to July 22nd due to better weather conditions. The first day was pretty easy. It was just getting the solar panels down. All of the solar panel work was done by Solar Unlimited. The next day was getting the new roof installed. It was a noisy day, but it really didn't affect me working from home as usual. I did come out a few times to see how things were going, and I was glad I was not the one doing it. It looked really good after everything was completed. It took about 9-10 hours total. The following day, Solar Unlimited came back to re-install the solar panels. The morning after the solar panels were put back up, John from Revamp Exteriors came over to do a final inspection after everything was completed. There were no issues, and he shared those pictures with me, which he said I can use them. Overall, this was an excellent experience with Revamp Exteriors. They were quick to respond to all my questions, and they were able to give me everything I need to submit for a homeowner's insurance discount for a new roof date. Although the cost can shock you, it will be great in the long run since it's considered a 50-year roof. In the future, I may need to look at having the vinyl siding replaced at a later time, and I will definitely turn here first when that time comes. If you are looking at having some home renovations completed, you need to give Revamp Exteriors a call. You won't regret it.

Also, sales rep was unprofessional, deriding the roof job, telling me that the roofers did not use synthetic felt or over-ice water shield: both of these are clearly in the original contract. And criticized the stepped flashing (claiming that hem sealed flashing is superior and stepped flashing is a downgrade): did some digging, and stepped flashing is recommended for my particular application. An estimate came to me: the link did not work. After repeated asks, a screen shot came to me. The estimate was very pricey.
