They have dedicated volunteer and staff who care about the needs of the animals. They also go above and beyond taking in semi feral kittens, bottle babies and special needs animals. Many other shelters would not do this. They make sure that the animals get the appropriate care even if that means a trip to OSU for special treatment or acupuncture for a paralyzed kitten. They also provide cat/dog food to the food bank in town which is neat and many depend on it. Overall this place is amazing. For a small shelter who has limited resources they do great work.

Also complain to Petsmart where you adopted these dogs/cats if there's issues with information, & call backs. Petsmart has a application process which screens adoption groups. You have to list and give info when you wish to use their facility to adopt out pets. I tried myself for a bird club and we don't screen lost and abandoned birds when members accept surrendered birds. So we didn't qualify by Petsmart standards. Talk to the Petsmart Manager. I WANT TO SEE PETSMART ESTABLISH MANDATORY REPORTING THE SAME WAY OREGON LAW REQUIRES MANDATORY REPORTING OF CHILD ABUSE. The organization is supported by volunteers (I am currently fostering a kitty cat) who provide love, food and shelter until they are placed in a permanent home. If you are in the market for an adult dog or cat, check out their Website as they post pictures of all the furry pets looking for an owner to shower them with love. Or, if you want to sign up to volunteer, I'm sure they would be happy to have a few more loving foster parents to help out with all the homeless pets.

You do need to follow directions upon arrival but that is because they want to keep your pets safe since both dogs and cats can be in the lobby at the same time. So far between my 3 pets they have saved me $900 from going to a regular Vet and all 3 recovered quickly. Great service!

OFOSA is an AMAZING organization to adopt through. They match families based on personality (what…read morethe family is,) and match it to their potential kitty. (It is likely the same for dogs, I don't know.) We first heard of OFOSA through Instagram and followed our Oscar (formerly Drizzle, of the "Sky Kitten" litter,) from his small beginnings as one of 8 and his mama. His foster mom clearly loves each kitty, kitten and older kitty, as her own from the minute she receives them. I was a foster before I had kids, and it's a hard and thankless job from most adopters. They have no idea the love and emotion that goes into raising a healthy kitty only to see them go home and never see them again. We originally wanted the female calico, Sunny, in the litter. My daughter, who is 8 1/2 lost her "soul mate kitty" in February of 2019 and asked for a kitten, so we thought about it and the timing of this litter worked perfectly with our plan to allow her to pick a kitten. When it came to choice time, we did a blind family vote. We wrote down numbers and read the character traits out. Sunny placed last for us all. She wasn't who we should adopt. But when we tallied it up, Drizzle was our CLEAR first place. Cuddly AND playful was what we were looking for and that's exactly what we got. We adopted him almost a month ago, on 12/11/21 and he very quickly won our hearts. He's 16 weeks now and he's a frisky and mischievous little kitten with loads of energy and spunk. He is an absolute love as well. One day when it's time for another kitty, we will absolutely be doing this same process again. He couldn't be a better fit with us. Thank you SO much OFOSA. My son adopted Ginger through Hope's Haven when they were in Dayton. He had her for a week and…read moresuddenly, she got really big so he took her to a vet and yes, Ginger was pregnant. Hope's Haven offered to take Ginger back but Michael was already very attached to her. Ginger had 10 puppies 10 days after he had adopted her. Hope's Haven offered to take Ginger and the puppies back but Michael with my help for a couple of weeks, kept them for 2 months then took them to to Petco or Pet-smart, can't remember which, and Hope's Haven placed them with people or families. They sell the puppies for $200.00 each and Michael very generously let them keep the money because, of course, this money helps to cover their overhead. We kept two of the puppies, Pearl and Ruby. After a few months, my son changed jobs so his time with Ginger was going to be far less so I brought her to live with us on our five acres of natural forest of fir, maple and oak trees We already had Angus, our big lab/mastiff mix. I had already spent a lot of time with Ginger so she was very, very happy living with us and she fell in love with Angus. That was eleven years ago but sadly, our beautiful Angus died of bone cancer almost three years ago. Anyway, Hope's Haven is a great place to adopt or give very young puppies to for placement. The puppies were of age to receive the flea medication and I jnfor.aed Marsha and Jackie I was very concerned about the flea infestation and Marsha said she does not use medine on puppies, even when I told her it was recommended by the veterinarian. They said they will give the puppies a bath and will not take them to the vet. We won't support this organization any longer. ​They immediately blocked me on Facebook so I couldn't leave a review there.
