This is one of those times you wish you could give negative stars…read more When I was discharged from the hospital I was told home health care would be arranged. In fact a nurse to evaluate me was supposed to come the next day, a Saturday. But was a no show. On Sunday a physical therapist evaluated me but I didn't hear from him again for 16 days! Briefly while at the hospital I spoke to someone from Serenity. After discharge I had a call and was told they understood I might need financial assistance, food assistance and also aid for transportation. Evidently all based on a conversation that last barely two minutes. This agitated me, as if decisions and assumptions were occurring without my input. Annoyed, I told the caller I am registered with Access Services for transport and that all the other things were not a problem. Serenity seemed dedicated to rubbing me wrong way in as many ways as possible. I kept calling to complain about all these delays, and about the snafu holding up home health medical supplies. It was a week before a nurse belatedly came over the next weekend to evaluate my condition and wrap my leg. Another nurse a few days later came by to check my leg and instruct me on wound care. Monday the occupational therapist was due to come but was a no show. When I called she profusely apologized and claimed car trouble hobbled her. But no explanation why she hadn't bothered to call me about being unable to make it. We rescheduled for Friday. When she didn't come Friday I called Serenity and was told because I had returned to work they had discharged me. Later I was told by a case manager at Regal Medical Group they told her I was difficult to deal with which is why they ceased assisting me. So, treat someone like dirt then when the customer protests and asserts their right to be treated with respect, abandon them! That is the Serenity way. Avoid these dispicable people at all costs!!!

We spent a long time searching for the right senior living community, and nothing ever felt quite right... until we found Ivy Park at Woodland Hills. From the moment I pulled up, I had a feeling. The landscaping is beautiful, the property is immaculate, and before I even walked inside, it already felt like home for my mom. I actually walked in unannounced and happened to meet Elizabeth Zaharian, the Regional Sales Specialist, who was there that day. She graciously took the time to show me around without an appointment. I saw two units that were clean, beautiful, and clearly well cared for. I was so impressed that I immediately drove to Thousand Oaks, picked up my mom from her previous community (which we were not happy with), and brought her back that same day. After one tour, we both knew this was it. Since then, everything has only reinforced that decision. The team is incredibly responsive texts, calls, emails are all handled quickly and professionally. Jennifer Smith helped us get settled and personally delivered a welcome amenity to my mom's room, even giving us her personal cell number in case we needed anything. The community itself feels almost brand new furniture, finishes, landscaping, everything is maintained at a very high level. It genuinely feels more like a luxury property than a typical senior living community. What surprised me the most and where most places fall short is the food. I've been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, so I don't say this lightly: the food here is excellent. Not "good for senior living" actually excellent. The ingredients, presentation, and flavor are all there. We've had multiple meals now, and every one has been impressive. Whoever is running that kitchen is a real chef not a glorified cook. Another thing that stood out is the leadership. The Executive Director, Lilit Mnatsakanyan, is clearly very hands-on. We saw her walking the dining room during both lunch and dinner, checking in with residents. We invited her to sit down with us for about 20 minutes after dinner. She's warm, present, and genuinely cares. You can tell this place runs well from the top down. The service overall is warm and personal. Staff remembered my name, and residents went out of their way to welcome my mom on her very first day. People seem genuinely happy here, which says a lot. We've seen several other communities, and I can say without hesitation this one stands above the rest. For what they offer, the value is actually surprising. Honestly, they could charge more. If you're looking for a place for a parent or loved one, don't overthink it. Go see it. Once you experience it, you'll understand. And this may sound crazy, but I'll say it anyway if I were looking for a place myself, I would absolutely consider living here. That's how wonderful it is.

I needed caretakers during the evening hours between 7PM and 7AM. They sent me one woman named Caroline would DID NOT change my mother's diaper ALL NIGHT, so the house smelled horrible. She refused to acknowledge to us that she didn't change it and blamed it on our dogs "smelling" even though they had recently been groomed and bathed. Caroline also made my brother and uncle rearrange our ENTIRE living room so that SHE could be comfortable, all while ignoring the care of my mother. Caroline returned the next day, but was 20 minutes late and did not change my mother's position in her hospital bed all night. We received another caregiver named Gloria that my mother did not feel comfortable with and who REFUSED to give my mother her morphine, lorazepam, trazadone, and albuterol FOR TWELVE HOURS. She claimed that she "was not allowed" to administer medication. Another caregiver they sent me named Victoria arrived at our home an hour and ten minutes late. Another one they sent me named Jasmina was nice to my mother, but very rude to me. Throughout the entire week, they only sent me ONE caregiver that actually did her job. How am i expected to pay these people $23 an hour for NOT DOING THEIR WORK. I called multiple times about receiving my money back, and so far I have been told three times that someone will call me back and then was hung up on without a "goodbye". We'll see! Accredited Home Care provides the worst, least competent caregivers I have ever seen. My mother is now traumatized and anxious that she will not receive medication; she constantly reminds me to tell our other caregivers to make sure they know where the medicine is because the caregivers from Accredited neglected her. End of life care is supposed to be about making the patient feel at peace and comfortable about their dying process, but all Accredited has done is make my mother feel anxious, sad, and uncomfortable.

He was told someone would be out on a Saturday, no one showed up or bothered to call. I called with my above concerns, was put on hold for 30 minutes to spoken to rudely by a nurse in the office that was extremely unprofessional & rude & told me "If he has a problem, take him to ER." This is totally unacceptable behavior for a health care service provider. I am speaking as a Registered Nurse for 45 years who worked in all aspects of healthcare including home health-if this is how patients are treated they should not be in business. They obviously do not have the staff or interest to cover the San Fernando valley and should not be contracted with Kaiser.
