Fun vibe. Good, strong coffee. I'm not a huge fan of coffee shops for lunch normally but this is a good stop when in Stuart. It's on a busy street in Stuart Uptown so there are cute little shops to visit nearby. Similarities to Starbucks: strong coffee, good selection, artsy decor. Contrasts to Starbucks: more laid back, more conservative vibe, more children. Tried the veggie burger today and it's decent. I would order it again. The barista said that she didn't like it but that fans of veggie burgers did, said that it is mushroom based - not black bean. It looks like it might be a pre-made patty, a little thin but tasty. Good for a lunch when you are hungry but not ravenous.

I have been coming to Stuart for about 12 years to enjoy the wonderful people, wonderful scenery and peace and quiet if the mountains. The Honduras Coffee Shop is a wonderful addition to the community and a real treat. Although i am hooked on the bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant with a hot Americano for breakfast, all their food is fantastic. The coffee is fresh and very good. They have all the specialty things to add to coffee including my favorite, the local honey. The coffee is roasted locally by the Honduras Coffee Company which roasts and sells wholesale, but you can buy beans here as well. They even sell craft beers and the local wines. On weekends there are special events (live music etc..). They also have a reading corner with a book swap which is very nice. Plenty of table seating as well as couch and padded sitting furniture.

Forgetting Starbucks? The easiest way to forget SB is this coffee shop. Great home style food and better coffee.

Great food, and coffee! I had the tuna melt, and a frozen hot chocolate. Great service, and an overall good experience.

It closed a decade or so ago, and I hadn't been to Meadows of Dan for a long time, so when I found out about Jane's I was excited and hopeful, and (although there was no fried chicken, alas) it definitely proved worth the trip when I was finally able to get there this past weekend. I had fried shrimp, mashed potatoes, green beans, and French fries, all of which tasted great and came out in a reasonable time. A mistake in the order (from the kitchen, which the waitress noticed as soon as she put the food down on the table) was corrected quickly and with the offer of a little extra food as an apology for the hassle. The waitress herself was friendly and an excellent server. The only reason we didn't get dessert was because we were pressed for time by deadlines at a couple of places we wanted to visit. I don't know how long it will be before I make it back to Meadows of Dan, but I'll love having dinner at Jane's again whenever I do. (Especially if they ever start selling fried chicken too. :) )

You can sit inside or outdoors at a picnic table. We chose indoors for the air conditioning. We were surrounded by locals and bicyclists who stopped for a mid-ride respite. Our waitress, Lisa, was enthusiastic as we praised her for the variety of menu options - it was hard to choose what to order! Five stars except my hush puppies were cold. Good flavor, but chilled. I didn't complain as I had more than enough food with the fried shrimp platter. We were so full we had to skip the homemade desserts. I noticed handmade dish towels and jams (apple butter and strawberry jam) at the checkout. We bought some strawberry jams to take home with us. We're excited to give them to friends as a "sweet" memory of our road trip. Thank you, Jane's Country Kitchen!
