This is one of a handful of spots in Martinsville's downtown. It is a legitimate spot to sit and work or socialize, with varied seating options in a large, multilevel space. Ordering a matcha got me an iced beverage with a hint of vanilla to make it work; the powder didn't all quite blend, but it was worth coming for. There is a food menu but it is relatively short. We had lunch here between rehearsals and really enjoyed everything! The different seating areas are very interesting and cozy looking. I had a soup flight and my husband had a sandwich - both were delicious! They brew Counter Culture coffee which we already love from other cafes. The service was friendly and quick. They seem to do a lot of carry out orders, too. read more

100/10 stars for this place. The town needed a coffee shop that's isn't Starbucks and this place is IT. The breakfast and lunch options are delicious. My new fave is their chicken wrap. It's gotten pretty popular with the support of the city ! I love when I can get into the booth to work from home . You can change the lighting inside the booth which is pretty neat ! read more

As an iced coffee girlie to the utmost degree, it's my favorite to find coffee shops with the most beautiful, flavorful coffee flights. The Ground Floor satisfies that itch for me - just look at this display! Coconut cream pie, honey blueberry, raspberry cheesecake, and caramel delight were on deck for this flight and each had a unique flavor that was crave-able. And as you can see, there's plenty of coffee to go around! This is definitely a shareable size flight that comes either iced or hot! They are a bold coffee flavor which is perfection to me. They also have a full menu if you're looking for some bites to go with your bevvy! Their seating is plentiful being two stories and hehe staff is super friendly and helpful. This was not our first time here and I thought I did a review before but perhaps not. Our first review would've been five stars however this trip changed that slightly and I'll explain why. We thought we would give the beer and wine a try because it was late afternoon, cocktail hour, and we happened to be nearby. My husband's beer and my wine were both served ice cold. Truly the beer was a little too cold but my red wine should not have been cold at all. I took it back up to the counter and let the guy know that it should not be cold and he apologized, stating that he had forgotten to take it out of the refrigerator that morning. Hmm. A training opportunity. A second training opportunity is the fact that he sort of just looked at me and shrugged and I mentioned he could open one of the bottles that was displayed on the wall and he did so, after some hesitation. There was no sense of urgency getting it open And truly at this point I should've been allowed to go have a seat and have him bring it to me because of the delay. They were not busy and yet I stood there awkwardly waiting while he figured it out. It was just a weird interaction and on that same note it's weird that wine would be stored in the fridge at night. Still a good review and we will of course will be back. It's nice to have this great little place right downtown in an area we frequently visit. Hope to give the food a try next time! read more

Absolutely love the staff here and thoroughly enjoyed my super caffeinated coffee and muffin!

I love the atmosphere and the ability to sit somewhere, work and enjoy tea or coffee, and while my grandsons car charges. I also used the meeting space. Loved the convenience and having a local spot to meet and eat. read more

Every time I come to The Ground Floor, I try something different from the menu and I am never disappointed. They have so many combinations of coffee and beverages which makes it difficult for me to make choices. When I ask questions, the staff is very patient and understanding. There's not a lot of choices in Martinsville and this place was recommended to us by the hotel front desk. We ordered the Grande burrito and coffee. Everything was just average. Not great. Only ate half the burrito and threw the rest away. It was not worth saving. Paid for unlimited coffee, but only had one cup. Will not be back. read more

Wait is too long. Customer service for customers of color is severely lacking. I've been to this place three times to give it a fair chance. Every time I've walked up to the counter, I have to wait quite a while to be acknowledged. However, I've observed other white customers walk up to the counter and be received easily. Drinks are overpriced for their size. This is a place for the good ol boys. I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

I was originally a hold out when my wife told me about this place. I am a sucker for historic architecture, the old Holt building is one of my favorite places in Uptown Martinsville. I have always toyed with a small lunch counter, coffee bar, newspaper lounge idea, this location was honestly at the top of my list of optimal spots for such a business. I am proud of the way the owners have used the space and the way they promote an open environment that is built on and supports faith in Christ. The coffee, the frapes, its all good. My go to is the Mocha Frape with no whipped cream and no chocolate drizzle because those two just take away from the espresso flavor I love..... It is nice to say that I am a regular now, they know my name and my order when I come through the door. Keep up the good work guys Dusty, Killian, Cj, Cam... and the new faces I do not know by name yet. read more

first off: excellent customer service great recommendations and obviously passionate about their jobs. secondly: delicious sandwiches and drinks hubby got hot chai (he's a picky chai guy and LOVED it) and a yummy grilled cheese. i got the cousin vinny...it did not disappoint...and a decaf americano. the americano was not the best i've had, a little bitter. and, lastly: the friendly vibe and energy of the ground floor was really nice thank YOU, guys! read more
