This review is based directly on what is documented on the invoices. A senior family member brought her vehicle in for a check-engine light and a coolant leak. Per the invoice, she was charged $164.89 for check-engine light concerns and $98.00 for a cooling system pressure test, totaling $290.14, which she paid. The cooling system pressure test to identify a leak was reasonable and not disputed. However, the invoice also documents deferred/declined services totaling $3,289.48. These included extensive recommended repairs that were declined after review. Notably, the invoice states the alternator was not charging and was not repaired, yet a full check-engine diagnosis was still performed and billed. Diagnosing electronic engine and transmission faults while the charging system is inoperative results in unstable system voltage and unreliable fault codes. In addition, a battery was installed without authorization. The invoices show the battery initially quoted at $260, later reduced to $160 without a warranty, and only after objection was it ultimately provided at no charge because the original battery had already been discarded. I expect better authorization practices, transparency, and diagnostic standards -- especially when working with senior citizens who rely on a shop's guidance. Based on what is documented on the invoices and the amount of declined work presented, I cannot recommend this location. We are asking for a refund of the 164.89 read more

These guys helped me out quite a bit when I was lifting my truck. Had them perform two alignments, once for a suspension lift and then when I had my control arms replaced and service was quick and on time. They even took the time for a follow up appointment to look at my truck again when I thought I had an issue with the alignment, but turned out that one of my tires were rubbing on my skid plate which they fixed for free. read more

Brought my Jeep in for an oil change and coolant issue. Completed the services request and recommended a transmission service. Asked what my total was after oil change and coolant check. Was 230 something. Asked if I did the transmission service what would be my total. Was told 505 by Tim. Get a text saying all is complete. Get the invoice the transmission service was 505 itself. So was stuck with a bill 360 higher than quoted over the phone. Called other shops and Asked for quote on the transmission service. Was quoted under 300 by both a dealer and transmission shop. Honest-1 isn't HONEST, don't let the name fool you. There prices are much higher than other shops. Just 2 phone calls proved that to me. Clint made a statement to me as I was paying, that he would be very frustrated as well if he didn't get a total quote. They lost what was a loyal customer because of the dishonesty they showed!! read more

Took my daughter's car in for brakes based on the input from a shop in Ft. Collin's. Honest-1 was straight up and told me there was plenty of life in the brakes so do spend the money. They researched on Carfax when they had last been service. Pretty amazing since they volume of business is lower because folks are deferring driving due to COVID I have used this place for several years for this reason. My car broke down near this shop. I pulled in because the shop was right there. Turns out, it was the accelerator pedal sensor. They charged $475 for a $110 part, and replacing it (including diagnosis) takes about 1/2 hour. Total bill was $960. These dirty scumbags need to be out of business. Twice, I've had to take the car back because the shop messed something up during the repairs. Usually I wouldn't mind this - people make mistakes. But what is very frustrating is the lack of care around COVID. During the beginning of the pandemic, they wore masks but they were often hanging around their faces when they came into the office. I get it's difficult to work with masks on, but when you're customer facing, it's frightening. The most recent time I've dropped doff my car, no masks in sight, no cleaning of any surfaces, definitely no cleaning of the cars. People are dying. Because of this lack of care, I will not be bringing my business here and cannot in good faith recommend going to Honest 1 auto care. read more

The guys at Honest-1 Auto Care truly live up to that name. I heard some rattling from my engine after hitting a fat lone tire while on a cross country road trip and came here for a quick checkup. They were about to close in an hour but kindly took my car in. It turned out that these guys probably saved me from being stranded in the middle of Nebraska had I gone further without visiting. The mechanics showed me the unsalvageable damages in my engine, and this news frazzled me as I still had a long way to go. However, these guys are not only professionals but also kind human beings and Honest-1's. They went above and beyond to direct me with practical advice of what they'd do in this catastrophe. This review has to do with their pricing structure, which I'm guessing is set at the corporate level. I had a great interaction with Johnny and was really happy with how they treated me. They replaced rear brakes last year for ~$450. I just got a quote from another shop on my front brakes and they came in at $260. I asked if there was a big difference between front and rear brakes and this new shop told me that rear brakes would cost the same. Since parts are parts, I calculated that Honest1 charges twice as much in labor as a highly-rated local shop that uses genuine parts specific to the make and model of a vehicle. Long story short: I paid an extra ~$200 to have some brakes replaced. If price is a concern, then look elsewhere. But don't hold it against the people working at this shop, they were awesome! read more

I couldn't be happier. My oil light and air filter lights were lighting up on my 2012 Lexus LS 460. I felt it was riding hard over potholes. I asked them to do the oil change and replace both air filters. They did this with 9.5 quarts of synthetic oil at half the price the dealer charged me for the same service last time. They said there was nothing wrong with my air suspension struts. I was expecting a $2,000 to $8,000 estimate given that the cost of these parts on eBay for the OEM air compressor and four air struts is $4,000. I guess my expectations for this car to float on air were just too high. They didn't even charge me for the strut evaluation. This is my go to place. They really are honest and I don't feel they recommend services that I don't actually need. It's easy to make an appointment as well. For an oil change, expect to wait 30-45 minutes as they check your fluids and do a quick diagnostic as well. They don't vacuum or clean windows anymore, which was a nice bonus. Today, the service was a bit surly and I felt like I was carrying the conversation, but maybe they needed more coffee? My dashboard display wasn't reset and when I called to ask about it, they were pretty defensive. It didn't need to go to that level. I googled it and figured it out, I am just used to getting the whole job done correctly when I have paid full price for it. That being said, I did use the Yelp offer for a $24.95 oil change, plus the extra $6 since my truck needs more oil. So maybe because I didn't pay full price..... read more

These guys are fabulous! They are friendly, funny and informative. I have been going here for years and I have never felt they are ripping me off. When they do find something wrong, they explain the problem, the time frame I should have it taken care of and the cost of the service. Many of the inspections performed when I get an oil change and/or tire rotation, come up with no problems!! Yeah!!! So when they do see a problem, I tend to believe them. One, because I already had a suspicion of the problem and two, I really believe in their expertise and their honesty. They are efficient and have always had my car fixed within the day I have brought it in. (I know thats not always possible, but they do make a true effort to repair the car as soon as possible). Don't write reviews often but people should know my experience. Heres the bottom line, they fixed my rotors and brake pads. They did a great job, except for when they broke my handle to my emergency brake. Not a big deal, especially because I noticed right away when I received my car. I stepped out, and spoke to the manager. Was completely understanding that this sort of things happens Long story short, blamed me, and we started a "he said she said" about who broke it and whether it was like that before I dropped it off. I drive a Manuel, and I use the thing everyday. So of course I realized something was wrong immediately when I got in the car. I asked him to pay for the broken handle. He was angry and said "fine!" Then said he would haveto order it and probably wouldn't get there for 5 days. Well, guess who called back in 5 days, he didn't even order the part. Problem 1) Broke a small part to my car wouldn't take responsibility. 2) Gave me huge attitude when I was trying to be so patient with them to just take responsibility for it. 3) lied to my face when letting me know he would order a new part. 4) If a mechanic can't own up to a small problem, what won't they tell you about a big problem that there fault. read more

I went to Honest-1 a week ago for an alignment. It was half the cost of what the dealership charges. Also, I've had an issue with my front axles being jiggly and somehow the alignment they did fixed it!! Previous alignments at the dealership did not fix it. I came back to them today for brake pad replacement because I was so pleased with my first experience all the way around. Fast, affordable, friendly, transparent, and great service done! I initially was only getting my rear brakes done today as it was all I could afford. They gave me a loaner car and while home, I saw they had a coupon for brakes, so I decided to do the front as well, they needed it. Not only did they honor the coupon after the change in service, but they discounted my service more than the coupon! How kind and generous!! I was shocked and the response from Lee was, "Well, we want you to be safe in your car!" I am so grateful to them and am thrilled to have finally found a local auto shop that I can trust and feel good giving my business to! I highly recommend Honest-1!!!! read more

These guys did a great job diagnosing and repairing the problem quickly and inexpensively. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody! The diagnostic was spot on and the price was $60.00. The repair could have easily been explained as expensive but because of their honesty it ended up only being a blown fuse and costing $11.00. Polite as well! read more

My wife and I have been going to Honest1 for almost two years, however as of recent service has been extremely disappointing: 1. We recently found out that they couldn't even stay organized enough to have our cars SEPARATED in their records. We both own two different Ford fiesta's, one's a hatchback and one's a sedan, three years apart in age and for the last two years they've had all their service records under one single vehicle, my wife's. 2. Every single time I've asked them to "top off my liquids" when dropping off my car for an oil change, they have been lying to me. I am unsure if it's the technicians lying to the reps at the desk, or the reps at the desk lying to me, but my most recent visit a week ago, I asked if my liquids can be topped off (as I've done every time) during my initial call to make my appointment, when I dropped off my car, asked again when I picked it up and each time they ensured me "yes". I even took an extra step during my pickup to also SPECIFICALLY ask if my coolant was low (because they found some minor evidence of a potential leak to my water pump) and I was told "no, it's fine." Out of curiosity I checked the car the next day and my coolant was almost empty. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I bought some coolant of my own, topped it off to full and have been driving the car two hours a day, checking every single morning and afternoon to see if my levels dropped, just in case my coolant leaked between my visit and me bringing the car home. It didn't. My coolant level hasn't budged. I've checked under the car for any leaks, nothing after driving 2 hours a day for 5 straight days, verifying that my car didn't "leak" a full amount of coolant between when I picked up my car and when I brought it back home and checked it the weekend before. I called Honest1, and they couldn't explain any of it other than giving me an apology. I've canceled our future appointment to have our son's newly acquired used SUV seen. If they can't even do a simple task after asking FOUR times during a simple oil change, I certainly don't feel safe having them check our son's first vehicle. I'm just glad I followed my gut to check under the hood, because my car could've ended in MUCH worse shape. Honest1 should reconsider changing their name, because it seems they don't know the definition of the word. read more

On it's website Honest-1 Auto Care states that the company promotes eco friendly automobile maintenance including "synthetic oil, lifetime oil and air filters,". Based upon that, I made an online appointment at the Littleton branch about ten days out advising that I wanted to use Schafers 9000 synthetic engine oil because it has been tested to go up to 60,000 miles per oil change in the timber hauling industry. Also, I said that I wanted to use a lifetime oil filter which I would be willing to purchase from them and have serviced at each subsequent oil change. The next day I received the stereotypical dealer kind of response that my appointment had been canceled because they did not use "any customer supplied parts due to 'warranty and insurance' concerns as well as stating they only used Valvoline oil and OEM parts. That's simply a lie if their "eco" friendly commitment is factual because no automobile manufacturer currently sources any lifetime oil filters or oil. Moreover, I said in my note that I would purchase the lifetime oil filter and oil from them if they were willing to source it. From my experience this company is not honest and their "insurance and warranty" concerns are spurious. Lastly, I want to note that I agreed to pay their typical oil and insurance profit markup if my oil and filter were used, and it's impossible to be "eco" friendly when all of their oil filter replacements go to the landfill are never recycled. read more

I have been going to Honest 1 Auto Care just twice and was satisfied with the service at a competitive price. My good experience was totally ruined during the last service. After a basic oil and filter change, I got some concerns that my car's rear shocks and rear CV joints were leaking and needed to be replaced asap (quotation of about $1,200 total, with parts and labor). Before spending that much money, I decided to get a second opinion and took my car to another repair shop, just to find out that both shocks and CV joints were actually ok (not damaged or leaking!). At this point I decided to get a final evaluation taking the car to a third repair shop, which confirmed that both shocks and CV joints were in good status. Beware of this auto repair shop!!! Extremely untrustworthy and fraudulent in order to make more money with unnecessary repairs!!! read more

RIP off We sent my daughters car in for a simple tune up. Spark plugs and wires and one coil. The car is a 2000 Chevy camaro v6 they wanted almost 900 bucks for an hour of work. What a joke. They gave us prices on each part that was triple the cost of what autozone sell them for. Same exact parts all ac delco. So I took the day off from work and did it myself total cost 126.00 my labor 1 hour 20 minutes I never right reviews but this is the third time dealing with these guys. Lesson learned I will never go back. Fyi they still charge me 76.00 just to give me a price for the tune up. Plus the fact I told them what the car needed. A coil for number 2 cylinder. Because we had the car scanned a couple of days before.Then the paperwork they gave us said it need the number 5-6 coil well guess what I was right it needed number 2 coil. Now the car is running fantastic thanks to a concerned father looking out for his daughter that has very limited income. read more

This experience went really well for me, being a single woman you get nervous who's gonna take advantage of you when calling they are friendly put me in, diagnose my problem and fixed it when calling other places they were making it sound like it's going to be a bigger deal, it was my washer fluid sprayer's and reading that it could've been the pump the gentleman at the phone at honest one put me at ease that it was probably something easy to fix, even though it could've turned out to be something big and it didn't made me feel good that I was being treated right. When calling other places they made it seem like it was going to be a big ordeal no matter what which scared me when they never even looked at it.. now I know in the future when it is a bigger problem I can trust honest one is telling me the truth I'll be back if I have any other issues with my jeep read more

My 2007 Odyssey died over the weekend. The AAA guy got it started Monday morning and diagnosed the problem as a bad starter motor. I took it to these guys for the first time. They charged me $334 for a remanufactured starter I can find all over the internet for $86 - $115. Why can't people be honest, especially when they call themselves Honest-1 Auto Care. I cannot say that I had a very good experience here. I made an appointment for an alignment and oil change. Three hours later I called them to find out the status of my vehicle just to be told that they would be unable to do the alignment until certain parts were fixed. I am not upset that they did not do the alignment. I was unimpressed with the fact that 3 hours after my appointment I had to be the one to call to find out what was happening. They did not seem to respect my time. I have no plans to go here in the future nor would I encourage my friends to go here. read more

Tonia, the front desk associate is very nice and she patiently went over all the details with me. I also learned about the VIP package that offers multiple oil changes plus additional services; I'm glad I got over my feat for commitment and purchased this deal because it saved my bum-bum. Marty and Lee, the tough looking guys (but no worries, they are very nice) helped me understand and make the best decision. I'm here for my second oil change and since I had to change my brake pads and rotators, the VIP package's discount helped out. I've been hearing them speaking to other customers and inquiries while waiting for my work to get done and they consistently sound courteous and transparent. usually, they have coupons for oil change and I think that is what they are best for. they changed my car's headlights and put some cheap junk, which blew up the whole circuit and surprise surprise, now i have to replace the whole thing, which will cost me ~$1500 and guess who will get that money. This repair shop has one of the worst mechanics I have ever dealt with. Not only was I talked down to but my car was damaged in the re-repair by the same guy! After I repeatedly asked that the repair use a specific gasket that I supplied in the original install, I found that it was not used after inspecting the vehicle myself. The mechanic also seemed offended when he brought my car around for me to drive home. When a customer brings in a vehicle, they expect that it is repaired correctly and not rigged. When the mechanic that rigged it has to do the job again, it would best suit the company to not allow him to have an attitude towards the customer and DAMAGE THE VEHICLE OUT OF SPITE! I have had many car issues in the last few months. I have been to many other mechanics and felt very taken advantage of, and the problems not fixed I paid for. However, Honest 1 was referred to me by a friend. So I checked out their reviews, gave them a call and Johnny was super helpful on the phone. I took my car in, they tended to it right away. Spent two hours diagnosing things. I've been loosing speed in the mountains. And instead of telling me I needed a whole new transmission, like two other places did, they told me to go get a computer reboot. Who knew that was a thing. Saved me thousands. Took me out to my car to show me what was going on and why I needed new struts and shocks (which I knew by driving it) why I didn't need brakes immediately like I've been told, they just really took care of me and explained things to me and didn't take advantage of me. I was very happy leaving with a fixed car the same day. Was very pleased with the customer service. And I will go back to them next time I have an issue. read more
