Won't be back. Don't let the name fool you. Not honest or transparent at all. I came in with a vapor valve needing to be replaced, something I knew because I used my error code reader. Sure, still charged me $185 for diagnosis. Thought I was getting taken for a ride by my Carmax warranty because they were only willing to pay $66 towards the $160 charge for the part. Turns out that is exactly what the part retails for, checked AutoZone and genuine Chevy parts online. This place doubled down, they reserve the right to mark up the parts as they choose on some margin they weren't able to disclose to me, wouldn't tell me how much they paid for my part, just that they weren't gonna budge on what they charged me. Ladies, make sure you ask ALL the questions, don't let anyone think you don't know what you're talking about before you leave your car with a mechanic shop like this one. read more

Absolutely stole $400+ from me. Visited them in September 2023 because my A/C was not working properly. They informed it was just time to recharge the refrigerant and it would be around $430. I said this seemed steep and they said it would be $120 if I did nothing and just picked the car back up for their diagnostic fee, they gave a big pitch about why it cost so much for this type of refrigerant and their work includes a warranty and yada yada. I said fine go ahead. At which point I looked up Autozone's cost for a can of the refrigerant with a gauge and it was $150. So I called them to tell them not to do the work, I would just do it myself. A full 8 minutes had passed and they said "sorry, he's already finished and parking it now." $430 for 8 minutes of work must be nice especially when they don't stand behind it at all. Fast forward to the end of February, it finally had a day warm enough for me to turn my a/c on again and now it's doing the same thing it was when I brought it in. Called them up and they said yes I'm still in the warranty. Take the car in. They determine there is indeed a leak in the valve and argued with me for having the car for a few months since the last time, I informed them that the months between September and February are known as winter and I hadn't been using the A/C. They agreed to honor their service warranty and fix the leak but asked me to pay for the lost refrigerant which is magically now only $108 lol. I was about to resign and agree when Kyle kept on about how the leak wasn't present in September, I told him I think it could have been because that's a big coincidence, at which point he then scoffs and said FINE WE WILL JUST FIX IT THEN. When I went to pick up the car he handed me the card for another mechanic as a way to say he didn't want my business anymore, which was never ever ever in danger anyway. Now HERE I AM JUST A FEW WEEKS LATER and guess what isn't working again? So congratulations on the $430 for a job you clearly did not do. I'll find somewhere else to fix it this time. If this was the type of service I provided in my work I would be ashamed of myself. I cannot recommend against them strongly enough, they should scrape the "Honest" sign off their building and just be Negative One Auto Care because that's what you get with them. read more

I have a Mercedes Benz that needed its B6 maintenance. I could not afford to go to the dealership so I went to Honesf-1 Auto Care. Unlike Firestone that cheat you and shows you a ton of things wrong with your car, the business name says it all "Honest" 1 Auto Care will only make you pay for items that "actually" need to be fixed at an affordable cost. Wheel Alignment was recommended but they said it's not currently necessary. Also, they will send you a text with all of the work that is being done on your car and what's recommended. No scare tactics, just excellent customer service , fast service , and they work on luxury European vehicles! Also loved that they left a snack and a nice message in my car when I picked it up!!! These guys are great! They have taken me as a walk-in and they have taken me as a call ahead. The prices are always right in line with the other comparison shopping I have done, and they have a REALLY nice waiting room with fast WiFi and nice coffee. I don't mind sitting here to do some work while they tale care of the car. The estimates of time and cost have been accurate. Guys are very nice and knowledgeable. They got me in and out fairly quickly and have great communication. However, buyer beware. Their diagnostic is overly thorough and they will take u for everything your worth. They gave me an estimate of $1700 which was way more than my mobile mechanic. They can charge this because they're a shop. But, for example, they told me I needed a new cabin air filter which I literally just replaced at an oil change last week! I'm not calling them scammers. They seem like decent people. But I'd only recommend them if money is no object to you. They tried to scare me because I'm a single female who probably wouldn't know the difference. This is my first time here, and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I came in on a Tuesday morning. They weren't busy so it didn't take that long for the service. You can get discount online. The person in front tells you about it. They don't make it a secret. You have the option for a copy and/or email about your service. They explain what services you might need in the future without any pressure of doing it now. The place has complimentary refreshments (soda, water, snacks) You can donate some money by the refreshments and that money goes to Hope Clinic (local clinic to provide health care to those who can not afford it.) I also love that they have a kids' play area. The place looks modern, clean, and new. The only issue, which wasn't a big deal to me, was I couldn't access their free WiFi. No one "wants" to go have their car service but I can say this was a wonderful experience. We had a known issue and were concerned about other unknown issues. The staff were knowledgable, friendly and informative. They had taken photos of any of the concerns they found and even let us know which were important to deal with now and things that were not yet pressing. Best of all the lobby was wonderful! Had a brake issue that was going to take a few hours, so the OWNER gave me a ride home in his own vehicle... and then came to my home and picked me up again to get me back to pick up the car. A few weeks ago, I visited Honest-1 Auto Care McKinney. It was my first time. It was clean and the staff was nice. They did my oil change in 45 minutes and handed me a few sheets of paper listing recommended repairs based on mileage. The billing person also told me he'd texted me the info. I glanced over the printout and left. Got home and read the text. The first thing it says is that I have a bad battery. Well fabulous, especially since we had a road trip the next day. Why couldn't they have pointed that out while I was at the repair shop? I called and the staff member said he'd failed to print out all the pages and he was sorry. I could come right in and they'd install a $200 battery for me if I'd like. Instead, I made a trip to AutoZone and paid slightly less. read more

I have an older truck, and it needed serious work. Honest One was able to replace my alternator quickly and easily, so when I needed some more major work, they were my go to - I live in downtown Plano, so this is a bit of a drive but I wouldn't go anywhere else. I was able to call ahead, and they had the parts ready to go. I dropped my truck off first thing in the morning, they drove me home, and I was able to pick my truck up in the afternoon after some serious overhauling. Great people, great prices, great work. dropped car off at 12:15pm waited until almost 3pm to check on status of estimate stated they would call back in 30-40 minutes but after an hour heard back nothing so I called abdomen around 4:15pm. car still was not ready with estimate and I told them to just pull my car back to the front as the close at 6pm and it is Friday and they do not open until Monday.
