Stopped in for lunch before taking the virtual golf bat for a spin. The nice thing is the fact that you can get a half sandwich. Or as my hubby got a soup cup, half sandwich and a small salad. Kiddo got the burger that had mozzarella sticks on it. Wasn't too shabby. Fries came out cold. Told the waitress and within minutes we had fresh out of the fryer ones. So no points off for that. Not a bad selection of beers on tap. However no Miller Lite,Yuengling regular or Michelob Ultra. But all were available in bottles so it was all good. The golf simulators are pretty fun !! Back room is a bit chilly and when it's cold out I'd suggest a hoodie to golf in. Kinda tight quarters but had plenty of room for three of us and our bags. Only two bats so reservations are a must. Tyler was a marvelous server! We were greeted right away and made feel welcome. We were in the area and ravenous. I found this place doing a Google search and the name of this place intrigued me. I saw the Lincoln Logs (mozzarella sticks hahaha) on the menu and said WE MUST GO HERE! The Lincoln decor is quite funny. It is a decent sized sports bar and restaurant. I really liked the atmosphere. Monday night football was on in the bar on big screens. We were so so hungry you could have put a plate of sawdust in front of us and we would eat it. Ha. The mozzarella sticks are very good. My mother inhaled the cup of beer cheese soup. I was pleased to see her eat it so fast. I got to taste it and it was good. She got a 1/4 lb cheeseburger which was on special for $10 including a side. I got the shrimp appetizer which was just ok. They came out crispy and hot. Tyler is definitely the one who made our visit enjoyable. He checked on us frequently and was so polite. I wouldn't coming back here to try their grilled cheese. read more

First time here.. can say it will be the last as well. The place was dead when we got here. Services started off good and our waitress was friendly, but once we ordered our food, it all went down hill. Our server wrote down our order and not sure how it all got messed up... missing the soup and had to re ask for it. One person asked for lettuce on their burger and fries as side and it came without lettuce and with tots. Then my son got a kid bacon cheeseburger. They forgot the bacon and asked for it and she got flustered and went to the kitchen and grabbed up a plate of burnt cold candy bacon. She got really upset that we didn't want that and asked for regular bacon and told us that, that was the only bacon they had (which wasn't true when we got regular bacon on other orders) and then we told her to take his food since he won't eat it without bacon and she got upset and left and never came back to the table, another server came to see what happened and brought us regular bacon and finished the rest of our dinner out. read more

Sat a few minutes before being acknowledged. (Personal gripe) Waitress pleasant and took drink orders first. Warning... menu is complicated. Specializes in varied burgers and they have SEVERAL. I opted for a burger and an upgrade to a salad. $1.25 charge. Food arrived. Salad served cold and crisp. Dressing in a single disposable cup very modest portion, I made due. Burgers arrive. Mine less any fries. Surprised, but waitress explains the upgrade to a salad voids the fries. Hmmm. So an order of fries and $1.25 is equal to this modest salad ? Felt slighted. Overall tasty, but the $42 for two burgers, 2 beers and a Pepsi seems a tad bit high in my estimation. Even though it was a $2 beer night. I made my second visit to Honest Abe's this past Sunday. On both visits the service was excellent, the food was good and the atmosphere fun yet pleasant. My wife and I noticed the light meal section of the menu this time. It was perfect for a light lunch as the regular menu items are very large! I had a couple of IPA drafts and my wife played in the adult gaming area. She hit a four of a kind that paid for our meal, drinks and a well deserved tip for our waitress. I highly recommend this very clean and well run local restaurant. We live in Yorkville and hope to spend more of our free time there again soon! read more

The food was great, the service sucked! I went with my grandparents today(10-28), and the waitress almost didn't take my grandfathers order. Then she forgot to put the order in and she never came to check if we needed refills or if the food was good. When another waitress came to bring our food she was rude and acted very annoyed with my grandmother when she asked for the things that were supposed to be on her burger and were missing. Then when we were leaving she spent 10 minutes talking to a random couple which is more than she'd spent with any other table and didn't even come to get the check so my grandfather had to pay at the bar. We can't comment on the drinks as we picked up a couple of burgers and a pork tenderloin to bring home. New ownership and plenty of changes in the quality of the ingredients equal a poor rating for Abe's. The pork tenderloin wasn't even a tenderloin - at best it was a food service chopped pork patty that was inedible. If we had eaten in, this item would have been returned for a refund. The burgers also seemed to be food service versus the former freshly prepared burgers. This was a significant departure from our last visit. The three of us said that we won't be eating at Abe's again, unless we hear that things have significantly changed and they go back to quality, fresh ingredients again. read more
