$2 Tacos (steak & carnitas)

I have been going here for years and just recently discovered that they had high quality breakfast on weekends. Large portions great service and prices slight lower than similar local breakfast places.

1/4 white chicken with corn. Potatoes arrived on a separate plate.

Lallo's is full of surprises. Their identity is so confusing to me, but that doesn't seem to take away from their quality. We've been told this is a great dinner spot in Channahon and kept trying to figure out what sort of dinner we would be having. Mexican food? Diner food? Basically you can have it all at Lallo's. We ate dinner at the bar with Miranda leading the charge. She's funny and kind and appears to have been here forever. We started with cheddar broccoli (or maybe cream of broccoli...I didn't try it) soup and chicken noodle soup. Both made from scratch and both consumed in full by our party. They offer chips and salsa before your meal, but with the soup we declined the chips so we could have room for dinner. He had a Patty Melt with seasoned waffle fries. The caramelized onions looked great and he made it through half of the sandwich. It was a little greasy, but he said he would come back so that told me it was good. I had a 1/4 white chicken with their veggies of the day (corn) and fried potatoes which were basically fresh cut French fries. The chicken was piping hot and sooooo crispy. The corn was good...I never order or eat that anymore but this had a little red bell pepper included and it was nice. The fries were not hot so that was my only real complaint. They run and food and drink happy hour 3-5pm during the week. They have drink specials for all Chicago based televised games. They've got other specials every day of the week like $2 tacos and tamales. I learned they make their own mole for their tamales which got my attention. Wishing they served chicken and mole or mole enchiladas on their menu, but there's so much to work through that maybe by the time we are done sampling everything else, they'll add the mole. A girl can dream. Lots of parking. Top notch service. Maybe a little more attention to the floor up against the bar would be nice, but overall we enjoyed our first visit and plan on going back for more.

Great selection, friendly service and great food at reasonable prices. I had the cod with fries. Everyone else had Mexican dishes which everyone loved. We will be back!

I really enjoyed the small town feel of a great place to eat. After checking out another restaurant, only to find out they were closed and likely moving, I ended up at Lallo's. I read a lot about this place and since I was on a day trip from Naperville, I landed here and so glad I did. I now see why people have written they have large meals, they truly do. It wasn't crowded when we got there, thank goodness as we were very hungry and ready to eat. Enthusiastically greeted by our server Jill, we ordered a cold beer and asked what she suggested. She asked if I like fish and suggested something I've never had, Bluegill Tacos. Don't get me wrong, I've had fish tacos, but never with Bluegill. It was so worth it. It was so big, I could barely hold it. Just like I like the size of the fish I'd like to catch. Full bluegills that were fried to perfect. It came with smooth and tasty refried beans and rice with a good Smokey flavor. After a short time, families started to come in after the kid's baseball games and made it a real homey feel. A true place everyone can go. I enjoyed it and Jill couldn't be any friendlier. She was attentive, fun, and truly a server you would love. Thank you!

It's one of my favorite spots in the USA. Given that I travel the country over half the year might be worth somthing. The portions are very generous, and most is scratch made. It is some of the best food in the Midwest, in my opinion. A true local gem with great staff!

This place has an American food menu and a Mexican food menu. The Texas burger was rated very well by my son. The tacos were also rated well (by me), but make sure they do not serve it American style if you want Mexican style. They were going to load it with beans (not sure why), American cheese, and lettuce. That is a Taco Bell meal. I asked them only to put onions and cilantro (a La Mexicana) and I did let them put some chihuahua cheese. The tacos were fire! The beans were bland and the rice was not what I want in Mexican rice. It tasted like someone was learning how to make Mexican rice but they didn't get it yet. The tamale needs more and the masa needs salt. But it was good. If you don't know tamales you would eat it and be happy. The server was good, she checked on us quite a bit. The store is actually a bar and restaurant. It's not fancy but it's clean. I think you these guys do a great job and I'll visit them again.

Mushroom n' Swiss burger w/seasoned waffle fries. Fantastic burger.

Wow. My new favorite place for burgers. I've been here twice now. Had the California burger first time. And the Mushroom n' Swiss burger the second time. Both times the burger was unreal. Definitely hand made (not frozen). Huge. Juicy. Perfectly medium-rare as I requested it. Hands down the best burgers in the area. I can't wait to try more.

I came here for only food no alcoholic drinks were ordered. To begin I was visiting A friend who lives nearby Lallo's and suggested this for its originality and unique menu, and I was amazed this wasn't your average food everything tasted unique. All the food had some tweaks to how they're originally served like the owner was serving the food the way he loves to eat it. The jalapeño poppers weren't breaded instead baked jalapeños with baked cream cheese and bacon and some seeds were left to leave and sudden kick of heat! Such an interesting way to serve this rocking appetizer! I ordered A steak taco and was surprised how it served it was neither the Authentic way with onion and cilantro but was also not the American way with cheese lettuce and tomato this was Lallo's way! It had lettuce cilantro and a cheddar it seemed like cheese it was a mixture of the two styles and it was interesting just needed lime and it was pretty tasty. Now to the best part my sandwich I got A California with crispy chicken and it came with avocado and Swiss cheese it was A simple sandwich but nothing was wrong with that. I didn't read the menu so I didn't realize it came with soup the cream of chicken wild rice was done very well, it wasn't clumpy or tasted heated up it was a very silk smooth texture with exploding flavors I could've ordered just a big bowl of soup and be satisfied! Waffle fries also came with the sandwich they were lightly breaded and salted to perfection. Lallo's really outdone themselves all the food was very unique and well thought out I would recommend this to about anyone who is trying to order out of the ordinary. This restaurant is not for picky eaters everything I had packed A punch including the chips and salsa the salsa wasn't spicy but had so much going on I almost forgot to take A picture! Last thoughts Lallo's isn't the best food I've tasted but it's really good and it gets so many points for the authenticity of their own style of cooking I would come back for more surprises.

I said I want to see the bottle, and the guy waiting for me to pay. I repeat that I'd like to see the bottle. He's waiting for me to pay. I tell him that I'd like to read the bottle. He continues waiting for me to pay. I say Me Gusta ver the bottle (I'm trying hard at this point). Still no success. I say Can I See The Bottle while walking to the refrigerator and he finally hands it to me. I read it and it says "Sangria soda". I continue reading and it says Less Than 0.5% alcohol. I start laughing and I'm say out loud "this is not sangria". The guy goes "That's the name." I'm lowkey offended. I don't care what the name is, that's not sangria. You can call a Kia a BMW, but that doesn't make it so. He should know what I mean. No normal person would call that sangria. I tell him I don't want it and we're back at the register. As I'm waiting for him to remove it from the bill, I say "Normally sangria has alcohol in it" and he goes "No it doesn't". I'm flat out flabbergasted at this point. There's another employee standing next to him nodding her head! Both of these people are Hispanic. I'm confused beyond all belief. So I pull out my phone and google one word, "sangria". Wikipedia is a top result and I tap it. I show them the very first two sentences, which say "Sangria (English: /sæŋri/ sang-GREE-, Portuguese: [si.]; Spanish: sangría [saŋi.a]) is an alcoholic beverage originating in Spain and Portugal. A punch, sangria traditionally consists of red wine and chopped fruit, often with other ingredients or spirits." The guy goes "ohhhh that's same name but different". Yeah no shit it's different. That's what I'm telling them. But why are they only now realizing what I'm talking about?! They acted like they'd never heard of normal sangria before, even after I'd described it to them ("it has alcohol!"). After being proven by Wikipedia, NOW he knows what it is! Honestly, the food is ok, good enough that I want to go back. But I'm so upset that I had to spend an extra 3 minutes at the register basically arguing with these people about something they should be very knowledgeable about, that I also want to be able to never go back there again. Was all that a ploy to get me to spend a measly extra 75¢ ?? How else does a fluent Spanish speaking Hispanic not know what sangria is? Even the word sangria comes from sangre (blood), because of the red color, which comes from RED WINE! I'm so disgusted! And both of those people tried to act like I'm an idiot for thinking that sangria has alcohol in it! I told them that I'd never heard of sangria not having alcohol before and they acted like I was crazy. This area is sooo desolate that I'm most likely going back there very soon. BUT I'm asking both of them about this again. They will have some time to have thought about it and we'll see what they say. Because if all that was simply a con to try to get 75¢, I can't eat there.

Food is not great, definitely not worth the price. Would rather drive an extra couple miles down to…read moreJoliet to find better Mexican food

I was recently there on 7/13/26 and was served at the drive-thru by (receipt said Michele) a heavy set, latino woman. While I waited for my order, she began sweeping with a broom for 6 or 7 minutes. After the cook prepared my order, the woman promptly put down her broom, placed foil and a lid on my food container and placed it in a bag, without washing her hands. I immediately asked her for a refund and when she asked why, I advised her that I didn't like that she was sweeping the floor with a broom and did not wash her hands before handling my food. She did not apologize, attempt to offer me a different serving, and seemed offended that I asked for a refund. I don't know if she was just an uncaring employee or part owner, but she definitely did not appreciate my business. Although I live local, I will not return to that establishment. FJ
