Nice place, 1st time here, despite negative reviews decided to try and thank god I never listen to negativity, the bartender was great the food was great and we will definitely be back. Clean place, you can eat inside or outside. Great Bloody Mary's with homemade pickles-yum! I haven't had a bad thing to eat but I love the steak sandwiches. The soups are always good. My kids favorite is their adult grilled cheese sandwiches. Family friendly. read more

First time coming here. Came here during Corn Fest! Overall this is a great location to come too generally on the weekends with its great outdoor space. Doesn't have the best selection of hard ciders either. Very casual and welcoming ambience. Perfect place to catch a game with its beautiful island. I will return in the future for their food. read more

Im actually not from Morris but came here for a private event in the back room. The room is amazing and has a lot privacy and even had a kid area. They also have a bar in the restaurant. We had buffet style food be side of the private event and let me just say I am shocked how good the chicken was! Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had! The chicken Alfredo pasta was amazing too!! I will definitely come back to this place when I am back in Morris! read more

Definitely a serious locals hangout, but the locals are friendly! The waitstaff are kind and attentive, they work hard to cover a lot of tables and do it well. Definitely bar food-style, but perfectly nice bar food and the salad was crisp and my burger a tad well done, but definitely not bad. My husband had the pot roast bowl and enjoyed it. Good beers, too. Overall a good experience, family-friendly but also a good place for a drink. No pretentiousness, just a comfortable community experience. read more

Service was fast and efficient had out our food out in no time. Ordered the hangover burger and my girlfriend had the pub burger and was nothing more than fantastic. Burger was cooked perfect and the fries were well seasoned and crispy. Would recommend 100%. read more

Lots of different options for food. And I've tried most and very pleased. Not your ordinary bar food for sure. Try the pretzels, you won't be disappointed. Service can lack when it's nice outside and the bar is busy. But they are always very nice & you can tell they are working their butts off. read more

Extremely rude staff member. We expected to wait since it appeared only one person was working in the bar and restaurant area but she was just plain dismissive and made us (4 adults) feel like we were in her way. Worth the 2 mile drive off I-80. Drive straight past allll those fast food places and stop at this little gem. The burgers were HUGE and really good. The fries and onion rings were amazing. Super friendly little place. Glad we wandered off the path and tried this place. You should too! read more

Part of a planned and announced motorcycle run. Only ONE bartender. Horrible service, we left after standing waiting to be acknowledged at the bar rail, for 15 minutes!! Used to be the Red Cent and the service was great. This place has taken a serious down turn. read more

Second time here and I want to like it. I'm not a fan of smoking while I eat. Its a deal breaker. People walk out of the bar and smoke out in the patio as well as sitting next to us . If you're a smoker you will probably like it. read more

Update. I wanted to try this place again to see if the service I received the first time was just an off night for them. I'm sorry to say that it was the same the next time actually a little worse. The food is top-notch the beer is very good but the service is very very poor. It really appears that the bartenders slash wait staff try their hardest but are somewhat understaffed. They are trying to fulfill their bartender duties as well as waiting on tables on the other side of the bar. Which I know is more managements fault than a bartender fault. I really wanted to like this place but unless there staffing changes I'm not sure how I could recommend it. read more

Best grilled cheese in the county. Eating vegetarian in a rural area can be challenging, but amazing staff was very flexible and friendly and busy, yet prompt and efficient. Expected to get a chicken sandwich that substituted vegetables for chicken on a bun. Ended up with sautéed vegetables in a grilled cheese and it was wonderful. Should be as common on menus as grilled ham and cheese. Included a basic salad that was good. Atmosphere is sport bar with tvs. Very busy with regulars, so must be good. Seating could be more comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Plenty of creative menu items (deep fried Twinkie) and many sounded very tasty. Limited street parking may require a little walking, especially on weekends when big outdoor area is packed with live music. Reasonably priced. read more

I came in for trivia night and had the hot ham and cheese sandwich it was amazing. The cheese is a sauce not so much just a cheese and then I got the side of waffle fries which were amazing and I dipped them in the Kansas City bbq sauce. The staff is great and really quick. read more

Carson's Tap House is great with the outdoor seating and stage. But sometimes when I go to the bar area, areas where people were sitting and left are not cleaned off for the next person. This is horrible in the age of covid. And sometimes on a Saturday afternoon when nothing else is going on, I play a song using touch tunes on their juke box and can hardly hear it. Once I asked a server behind the bar to turn the volume up and she just made a face and did not turn it up. read more

Worst service my family and I have ever experienced. Took over an hour to get our order and food came to the table cold. Waitress blamed the cook. Sorry but if your food is cold it is not the cooks fault!!! Really did not seem to care much. Extremely rude staff! Never checked on our table. The Red Cent is no more. This place is a worthy replacement. They still have a strong selection of craft beers. It will be interesting to see how they will work with the outdoor area. The Red Cent owner seemed to not finish his projects. read more

We went for lunch and had lunch out back. Great being able to sit out there-it was a lovely sunny day with a nice breeze. Had sandwiches which were good. Staff was accommodating and helpful. Not the best I've had but it was good. The pot roast sandwich had great reviews but mi e was kind of dry. When I asked for sauce it was spicy. read more

Disappointed. The only reason for two stars was the food. Waited 20 minutes for a waitress. Ordered beers waited another 10 minutes. Ordered the pot roast nachos waited over 30 minutes for them. I would get these delays if they were busy but only 6 tables were full. Waitress seemed like she could of cared less. I heard so many good things about this place but will never go back. read more

I gave this 1 star because out of 2 days in a row of coming here I had to send 4 of 4 steak sandwiches back for being overcooked. Out of things off the food and beer menu. Today they took my well done filet mignon sandwich back and were supposed to have it remade to medium rare. It came out better however it was a ribeye instead of a filet. I was lied straight to my face that it was a filet they "butterflied" to cook faster. I definitely know the difference. Our server was horrible both days. Having to ask repeatedly for things IF she ever came back. Acting as if we were a bother to her. Horrible attitude. We went back the 2nd day because everyone has bad days and the food was good the 1st day. NEVER again. It's ashame because it could be a good little place to enjoy however the service was absolutely horrible!! Both days had to go in and get our check. Absolutely ridiculous. Definitely disappointed. read more

The volume was consistently kept so low that it made the experience frustrating. He politely asked--on more than one occasion--if it could be turned up slightly and even offered to pay extra. Each time, he was told by waitstaff they were not allowed to accept money from him to adjust it, which was surprising in itself. What made this even more frustrating is that there were times the bar was nearly empty and it still wasn't adjusted. In a bar setting--with normal ambient noise--being able to hear the music you're paying for shouldn't be an unreasonable request. What made it worse was the tone and treatment. There was one bartender in particular who was consistently unfriendly toward him, and when he calmly asked what the issue was, she told him he "walks in like he owns the place and makes demands." That statement was both unnecessary and inaccurate. He has always been respectful and has never done anything to warrant that kind of response. At a certain point, it stopped feeling like a simple difference in preference and started feeling personal. We were left feeling unwelcome--something no customer should ever experience. When my husband finally said, "We're not coming back," the response he received was simply, "Good," delivered in a contemptuous tone. That moment said everything. It's unfortunate, because we genuinely liked this place and gave it multiple chances. But in any customer service business, respect isn't optional--it's the standard. No one should be treated that way. No one. In the end, it wasn't the music that drove us away--it was the way we were treated.
