Stopped by Honest Coffee after grabbing a few doughnuts at Five Daughters Bakery. I have visited here before and have always had a good experience with the staff and service. My reasoning for the 3 star rating is that the coffee is never consistent. I always get a vanilla latte and today especially it tasted closer to water than to coffee. As far as the breakfast sandwich, it was good but thought it was pretty pricey ($10.50). I do really like the location and the ambiance but for me it's not on my short list of go-to coffee shops in Nashville. read more

This review is only on the Franklin Toast and nothing else. I loved visiting L&L Market and would love to return to Honest Coffee Roasters to try their drinks and coffee. I had already had my cup of caffeine when I arrived and needed some breakfast. This was the only spot open at 10am on a Tuesday, so I decided to go with their breakfast. I loved the variety of options available for their breakfast. From savory toasts to acai bowls, it was great. I went with the Franklin toast, which was pretty good. I think if they used a different bread, this would've elevated it more. However, the simple peanut butter and fruit toppings were tasty and the kind of breakfast I had been craving. There were seats right next to the cafe, but you could also take your toast to other tables in the market. The baristas were very sweet and took my order quickly. I found a nice booth by the coffee shop to enjoy my toast. You bus your own table when you're done, which was easy. I had a lovely breakfast at Honest Coffee Roasters. read more

This time I tried two seasonal drinks, the Mint Tulip and the Southern Bowl. I was glad to have a bowl with PEACHES in it and this was phenomenal. Great coffee shop located in L&L Market. I like markets like these (which I experienced a lot in the northern states) because there's more than just 1 shop/store. You can sit down in the open seating area or walk around while you drink. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I do like iced drinks. Iced Lattes are my jam and Honest's version is as good as it gets. Slightly bitter, subtle coffee flavor, amazingly smooth, and very creamy. I'm sure their other drinks are very good and I'm intrigued to try them. They do have food ranging from breakfast/lunch options but I was just there for coffee. The good thing about L&L Market is diagonally across from Honest is Five Daughters Bakery. It's really hard to pass up a good coffee and a gourmet donut. read more

The wooden tables and chairs are not entirely comfortable, and you're definitely not guaranteed to sit near an outlet. We've also had some Wi-Fi issues on the occasional visit. Environment - The coffee shop is contained within its own space, but you definitely get some traffic (and hear the noise) from the L&L market. They have both iced coffee and cold brew options. Every kind of latte you would want. Not an overwhelming menu, and a nice cute quiet spot in L&L to chill. I always grade coffee shops off their cold brew. Honest with the nitro option was amazing. The extra nitrogen added to the oxidation of the brew. It was darker, sweet flavor, smooth texture and a nice chocolate finish. My wife and her moth got different kinds of latte's and both were amazing. I even peaked at the food options, and the sizes looked great for the amount you spent. Bottom line, this will become one of your favorite spots if you come here. I'm genuinely disappointed in the service I received in this establishment. As someone who's worked in customer service their entire adult life and owns a local business here in Nashville that works directly with customers, I cannot understand how someone can be so disrespectful to a customer. I placed an online order for pickup, happened to arrive slightly after my scheduled time and stepped up to the pick up bar. I was never greeted nor was my presence acknowledged in any way until I finally said something after SEVERAL minutes. I chose to just let the 3 employee's working behind the bar get through the busy line they had before I said anything but when I finally did I received a very condescending and rude response of "You should have told us.", before also receiving a gruff comment about them not having something in stock that was available for order on their website. It felt like this was all my fault and put on me. Super strange feeling when you've already prepaid and would have left a great tip and aren't someone to complain anyways. By this point I had been spoken down to enough and put on the spot in front of all the customers like I was the problem. I will not be returning again and I will be sure to patronize many of the other amazing coffee shops in the area. We specifically requested our coffee to be served in normal cups (not paper cups) since the experience matters to us. Many customers were served this way so we didn't think it was a big deal. I went to the bathroom while my partner waited for our order. We ordered an espresso and cappuccino and they served it to us in paper cups despite our specific request otherwise. When we mentioned this to the barista she said "oh it wasn't marked that way for me" and asked my partner in an exasperated way if she wanted us to remake it. My partner felt awkward so she said it was ok. When I got back, I asked for my drink in a normal cup so they just dumped my drink in a normal cup without apologizing or saying anything. The best thing here is definitely the acai bowl, they did a great job with that. However, we also ordered the avocado toast which wasn't very flavorful, and the tator tot casserole which had good flavor but was somehow really dry. We also tried the seasonal latte, and I couldn't pick out any of the flavors they were promoting in that drink. Overall, for food and drinks it was pretty disappointing. The kicker though was for our $50 order of food and drinks, we were hoping for a couple cups of tap water for our kids to have while they ate their breakfast. The girl at the counter wanted to charge us $2 for 2 cups of tap water. A restaurant charging you for tap water when you just ordered 3 full meals from them. Because of "inflation". Incredible. I have no doubt this was the owner's policy, but I also hope the owner understands that when your customers feel completely ripped off by their experience, there's no hope of repeat business. read more
