    Brown sugar latte

Bad service when I complimented barista on her latte art. She was extremely rude to me. The coffee itself tasted watered down, similar to a bad day at Dunkin (except dunkin wouldn't cost $8). Wouldn't recommend this place. The only reason it gets two stars is because the music and environment was good, but you couldn't pay me to come back here.

While I still prefer their Charlotte location for parking, seating options, and natural lighting, 8th & Roast is definitely my favorite Nashville coffee shop, particularly for their monthly/seasonal drinks. February includes a strawberry matcha with coconut milk and honey (and dried strawberries) which was incredible. But truly, they never miss on flavors. I still miss the horchata latte they did in the summer for a few years!

Great coffee! Did a short coffee/breakfast stop here on a weekday morning and really enjoyed it. I had an almond milk latte and a really delicious chia seed overnight oats bowl. They did not have any veggie options for the breakfast sandwiches, and the pastries were limited too. We went for the coffee though! The espresso was bold and smooth - I liked it a lot. I was pleasantly surprised by the overnight oats option. It was filled with fresh strawberries, coconut, peanut butter, and more. It was a sweet but healthier treat for breakfast. I also had a gluten free pumpkin muffin that had some type of streudel or chocolate marbled throughout. It was huge and I had some for breakfast 2 days after that. Great little coffee shop. Baristas were very friendly.

Headed south through Nashville on my way home from Louisville last weekend, this place was the perfect stop for a quick pick-me-up for the last leg of the drive. I was pleased to find them open fairly late in the afternoon and on a Sunday no less. Even better was the mostly-maneuverable nearby free parking lot! Not a ton of space, but a spot for me - hurray! :) After a short walk over, I found the inside of the shop to be bright, slightly industrial, airy, and comfortable, with several people clearly hanging out, working on laptops, or just catching up. Seems like a good place for all of those needs! On the quieter side than some community coffee shops the day I visited, so perhaps extra good for getting work done. One drawback was I looked for a restroom and didn't find one easily. There might be one available to the public but I wasn't quite desperate enough to ask. I knew pretty quickly I wanted one of their seasonal specialities. I asked the barista taking my order which of a couple yummy-sounding drinks was the sweetest as I like my lattes on the dessert side. He said he hadn't tried any of them! I thought that was pretty funny. No big deal. I wound up choosing an iced "We Were in Paris," which had hazelnut, cinnamon, and brown sugar. It was nicely balanced, pleasantly sweet, with lots of cinnamon flavor. I enjoyed it. Pictures showed yummy looking pastries, but they were understandably somewhat picked over by late afternoon. I wound up with a chocolate chip muffin for a snack. It was decent but a little dry. I would've liked it if someone had offered to heat it up for me but there were folks waiting behind me and I didn't want to be an inconvenience so I just took it as it was. The crumble and drizzle of glaze on top was nice. All in all, could definitely see a return stop in the future. Enjoyed my brief time here and certainly enjoyed my drink!

I don't know what they put in their coffee but it is SO strong! Be cautious if you're sensitive to caffeine. They always have really fun and yummy rotating drinks on their specials board too. Have gotten their quiche a few times, however, if you want to get it heated just know you'll be waiting a while! Lots of seating if you want to study or work for a while here.

I've come to increasingly love and appreciate 8th and Roast after visiting more often at the Nashville airport and more recently their 8th Ave cafe. The interior is big and open with a good amount of community and bar seating at the window. They are fast, efficient, and serve one of my favorite lattes in the city. They also offer bakery items, some breakfast, and seasonal offerings. I highly recommend 8th and Roast for your morning needs!

8th & Roast is very close to my office, but I only go when I have time to kill & money to spend. Parking is a challenge as it's very limited, I somehow usually get lucky with their little lot or off 8th. Finding parking and getting your order may take time if it's busy. Their espresso is some of the best in Nashville - it really packs a punch being incredibly strong and bold yet balanced and smooth. They always feature fun, creative flavors and have a great energy in the shop. You will pay for the quality, today I paid $9.05 for a 16oz iced latte (oat milk) it is definitely steep (even compared to prices I've seen in LA or NYC), but honestly, the strength and flavor make it worth the splurge (usually seasonally) for me. Today, I ordered from their summer 2025 menu and am loving it as I type - a "Brown. Butter. Scotch." and it is everything you'd want from those words - HIGHLY recommend. There is a lot of table space to spread out and work or meet up with friends!

I been back to this location since my original review, and I'm updating it to 5 stars. The coffee is consistent every single time I go. I got a vanilla latte today, and it was quite literally amazing. The employees are always nice, and the inside has plenty of seating. #1 best coffee spots in Nashville.

Pretty good coffee in a quieter part of town. Definitely has a more cozy, industrial vibe. A good amount of indoor seating which is nice. We got a drip coffee of their light roast and a cold brew. Both had a slightly more acidic taste, not in a bad way, and drank very smooth. Didn't need to add cream or sugar. Fair prices as well. They sell pastries that looked yummy but I didn't try any. They also sell bags of their beans and some coffee accessories (chemex, filters, etc.)

Grabbed a latte as we began our morning and long drive back home. I ordered dulce de leche latte and me wife ordered the lavender haze latte, we thoroughly enjoyed our drinks. My drink had good flavor without being thoroughly sweet.

Great matcha and coffee. One star reduction because of their pet policy. Otherwise no complaints.

They also made good espresso drinks. The reason I am giving 3 stars are for 3 main reasons. A) The front of the cafe smells like the sewer - incredibly unappetizing when you walk in or out. B) Our waitress messed up our order. She forgot to bring a Diet Coke. When we questioned her for it, she brought a regular coke instead of a Diet Coke. She then left the regular Coke and still charged us for the Diet Coke. C) There were 4 open tables around us. I had brought a chair next to us for us to put our purses on (they would not stay hanging on the bistro chair due to the rounded back). She told me she needed that chair "because she was planning on filling all the tables." The tables were never filled before we left and I had to cover my purse with my napkin throughout my meal.
