The wait on less than a couple of minutes. Sy took me in and ran me through a few eye test and explained everything all along the way. They use all the latest equipment and guess what? No eye dilation was needed. What a great deal that I did not need a ride home. Dr Bui greeted me after the initial tested was done and did one final test. She explained everything perfectly to me in a way that anyone who has not been to years of optical school could understand. The whole experience was the best I could have ever hoped it would be. I think it's terrible that they don't think that their patient's time is valuable. I don't think somebody in the scheduling area or whatever's going on, values the patient's time. So if you have four and a half 5 hours with nothing else to do with your life for a day and you want to sit in the doctor's office and just wait. To get an injection in your eye or anything. Also it was around 11:30 noonish when I noticed that the waiting room was almost completely empty except a couple people waiting to see doctors it was around lunch time was something going on with that? I scheduled an appointment (I was able to be seen the next day) and the visit went smoothly. The office staff was friendly and efficient, and Dr. Lindsey was delightful. Every good thing Michelle said about Dr. Lindsey was true for me, too. We had a good time chatting about faculty we knew in common. My fears of an eye infection were groundless (my discomfort was most likely due to allergies so she gave me some eyedrops). I had her do a full refraction and eye exam since I was already there. She found my current eyeglass prescription was fine and didn't need to be changed, and that my eyes were perfectly healthy (she said they were likely the healthiest she'd see all day). I'll see her again in a year, and look forward to it. If you need an ophthalmologist who is well-trained in diseases of the eye as well as the normal eyeglass and contact lens fitting, then I recommend Dr. Lindsey. Other physicians who are members of the group practice (The Eye Institute of Austin) appear to be equally stellar in their pedigrees.

Also, she hates waiting at the doctor's office, so she works hard to stay on schedule, which I so appreciate. Doctors who realize that their patients' time is valuable, too, are much too rare. THEN the worst is when you call in to re-schedule - YOU CANNOT GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE - E V E R! They play phone tag for weeks and weeks - still no re-schedule apt. The nurses are kind and empathetic and competent and educated. My rheumatologist, Dr. Rahmani, is exceptional. I trust him and I can be confident that he has my best interest in heart and he does not push medication I don't wanna take and he listens to me, while at the same time, looking out for what's best for my health. It felt like they cared more about collecting money than helping a concerned parent and her baby. I don't recommend this place -- they seem more focused on profit than compassion or care.
