I did find an adorable little plushie gargoyle that I thought my niece would love but based on my overall experience, I decided against spending any of my hard-earned money here. The staff was technically welcoming but not in a warm or genuine way. I felt like I was being more closely observed than assisted and the older, stiffer employees created an uncomfortable environment. After looking around upstairs, I came down and started perusing the shelves but as soon as I looked up from what I was doing and a staff member saw me she said " your husband is in the restroom". I don't know if that comes off as weird in writing as it felt in person. I didn't ask where my husband was and I wasn't looking for him. I don't know if it was because he was the only non-white person I saw while we were there, but it didn't give the feeling that they were trying to be helpful. The shop is somewhat visually appealing but overpriced overall and definitely lacking the warmth that would make it a place I would ever return to.

Sunnyside Trading is a wonderland of bespoke items for your home that you will not find anywhere else! This place is an oasis of style and charm and brings a whole vibe to decorating your house that we didn't know we needed until we were there. And to top it all off, Stuart (the owner) and Klaus were just wonderful and friendly and so knowledgeable in helping us choose the right pieces for our new place. We wound up purchasing two leather chairs (that it turns out Stuart helped design!), but we wish we could've bought so much more. The box they shipped was pretty large but when I cut it open and seen how well it was packed my fears went right out the window. Do not be afraid to order glass tubes from these people. Side note even if the tubes would have been broken it would not have really mattered as long as they were not totally shattered for my use. If I run out I know where my next order is coming from.

They have two convenient locations downtown, and offer so much more than just honey. They also carry skin care products, such as bath bombs, hand and body soap, lotions, and more. My mother in law is obsessed with their lotion bars, we get her one ever year for the holidays. It's a great place to shop for gifts, they even have candles, jewelry, drink ware, and I love the bees wax reusable food wraps they sell. They also sell packages of Asheville Tea Company, who were also on site for this event with tea samples. Tea and honey, what a perfect combo. I tried their seasonal apple cider tea, and their black tea, both were fabulous. Thanks to both companies for supplying some tea packets and sticks of honey as takeaways. My favorite thing about the Bee Charmer is their tasting bar. You can try just about any honey they sell. I tried the Firecracker first and it was definitely spicy, but not the spiciest honey they sell (they have a Ghost pepper honey too!) I also sampled their cocoa honey and I could really taste the hints of chocolate in it. They have all kinds of honey flavors- sweet, savory, spicy, herbal- you name it. This is such a great shop to have in our community!
