First time ordering from this place. I received my case of Simax glass tubes today. While UPS got some funky stuff on the end of the box the tubes were surprisingly unbroken. The box they shipped was pretty large but when I cut it open and seen how well it was packed my fears went right out the window. Do not be afraid to order glass tubes from these people. Side note even if the tubes would have been broken it would not have really mattered as long as they were not totally shattered for my use. If I run out I know where my next order is coming from. read more

But what mattered to me the most was how helpful, knowledgeable, and patience the staff is! They were not quitting on me as I fumbled my way thru setting up my tiny glass studio! Great people!! Mountain Glass Arts is a great source for all of your glassblowing supply needs. Their mail order service is outstanding! I receive promotional E-mails from MGA for their sales, and I received a notice of a big sale a couple days after placing an order. It so happened to be 30%off many of the products that I had ordered, so I called them to just ask if they would give me the sale price(even though they were'nt obligated because of the dates of the sale). They said no problem, and applied the sale price immediately! I saved over $200! Now that is customer service!! The only reason I left off a star is for the fact that they don't do USPS flat rate shipping. Which is a bummer if you are only ordering smaller Items. read more

Mountain Glass Arts is always dependable - even during a health pandemic! When my propane regulator to hose "quick release" started seeping gas, I called MGA. Dustin answered the phone right away and put a new one in the mail immediately. I was relieved to receive it so quickly, install it, and get back on my torch again! I have always had such good experience with MGA during the years I have been a customer. During the COVID-19 crisis, though, I wondered if I would find anyone there...if there would be a quick release in stock, and how long it would take for them to get it in the mail to me. I have dealt with Mountain Glass Arts for many years. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and just plain great. I live in California, and actually have a glass shop about 2 hours away - but I have found that MGA beats the prices I pay locally, and they have more of the items I need. `From my Lynx to my Scorpion torch and now my brand new kiln - I have never been disappointed with my purchases. Have never been into the store but Mountain Glass is the only place I go for glass supplies when it comes to shopping online. I have always gotten great service and if you sign up for it they will always let you know when the next sale is. Also I once placed an order and chose usps for shipping, and when they saw that it would be about 1/3rd the price to ship ups they called me to let me know and switched it to ups for me. Great place to go for good service, quality glass with fair prices. read more

I buy from this company online, because I am in CA. However, if I am ever in Asheville, you can be sure this is the first place I will be stopping. They will likely have to kick me out of the store 15 minutes past closing ;) First thing that stood out to me when I found the website was how well it is put together. Easy to navigate, easy to find what you are looking for. There are a lot of great lampworking suppliers with websites that are unintuitive at times. Mountain Glass Arts is not one of them. Check out is easy. I love the attention to detail they show by offering to cut rod and tubing to cut down on shipping costs (more money to spend with them!) it's a nominal fee considering what you save on shipping costs. I have called with lots of boneheaded glass questions, only to get thorough, tactful answers. I returned an item, and they waved the restocking fee, which was nice. Whenever I buy something, I get an email a few hours later saying it has been shipped. My items arrive safely every time. Their print catalog is awesome bathroom/waiting room reading. If you are getting started or upgrading your equipment, Mountain Glass Arts will take some of the intimidation out of it. As for pricing: on par with other vendors. Glass and equipment/tools in general are not cheap. You have your expensive items, and your inexpensive ones. But you feel better spending your money at a place that doesn't mess up your order and is well stocked with what you need. read more
