First off, it's about time they opened a bubble tea joint in midtown! I'm a self-professed bubble tea addict and end up having to drive towards Doraville or further to get my fix. Honey Bubble has a very cute cafe atmosphere, complete with free-wifi/outlets, plush couches, and even a sort of-secluded study room. The walls are huge chalkboards - which patrons are allowed to freely doodle on, which is pretty amusing. During the first few weeks of it's opening the baristas would yell out a friendly 'Ni Hao' whenever the door opened - in a 'Welcome to Moe's" kind of manner. I think they've retired it though, as no one has done it during my past few visits. The customer service here is great though, everyone's very friendly and helpful. My favorite thing about the bubble tea here are the milk options, they offer regular milk, lactaid milk, or soy milk as the base (please add an almond milk option!!!) - which I wish they would do at all bubble tea places. The thing about the bubble tea here though is the inconsistency - it never tastes the same. I typically order the Salted Caramel and sometimes it's better than before - other times its worse. Their bubble tea just doesn't compare to my all time favorite: Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe on Buford Hwy (Sweet Hut is also cheaper); but still it's usually pretty good. They also offer pastries from surrounding midtown staples such as macaroons from Alon's and cupcakes from Atlanta Cupcake Factory and killer gelato (as well as regular tea and coffee) that pair pretty well with bubble tea. After hearing some of the rave reviews, I was very excited to try out this midtown bubble tea spot! Firstly, parking is a bit cramped. Once you get inside, the space is very cute and quirky. I love all the random things you have to look around to find, like the "ni hao!" sign. Being spoiled by places like Sweet Hut, I was a bit wary to see their pre-made milk teas sitting in large containers on their counter. However, there's an upside--samples! I ordered a large Signature Royal Milk Tea and it was great! It's totally what authentic Chinese milk tea should taste like, and not just a haphazard concoction of Lipton and half and half. I've been coming to Honey Bubble Tea for many years. I would definitely consider myself a loyal customer. My usual experience is pleasant and personable, this time however was a bit complicated and not customer service centric. I ordered the Royal which is not my typical order. I did not like the drink at all. It was too sweet tasted like a ton of syrup was at the bottom of the cup. I asked to exchange the drink for something I usually get, Mitchell and the manager Zoey told me I have to pay for another drink because they can't exchange for another tea, despite the price being the same. It was a very disappointing experience and I don't believe guest should be forced to buy something twice if they aren't satisfied with a purchase. read more

So the last time I was here I gave the place 3 stars based on horrible customer service from a very rude barista (is that what you call bubble tea severs?). The owner replied to my previous review apologizing so it's been QUITE a while but I did give it another try. I had the house tea with mango beads (these were interesting but wouldn't get them again), they were like filled juice instead of gummy consistency. But what took the cake for me was the matcha brownie. Oooooohhhhhhhemgeeeeeee. SO GOOD. I asked the waitress to warm it up and it was decadent. So moist and just the right amount of sweetness. Love this place. Parking is not the best when they are busy but well worth the short walk. I almost always get the Royal milk with Tapioca bubble pearls, my husband is a huge fan of the Thai Tea. This place is great in that their stuff is never sickeningly sweet. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the menu is vast. From slushies, to milk tea, to regular real hot tea, everything is great. I live in marietta and sometimes i drive in to Atlanta just for this treat. NOTE: I always get the milk tea and not the clear tea. A few friends and I have a theory that women, in general, like milk tea and men like clear tea. Feel free to weigh in on this! This is the first place I've ever had bubble tea not in Huston, and it's pretty good. I've tried the Honey Bubble's Signature Royal milk tea, salted caramel, mint chocolate (my favorite because it's essentially chocolate milk), coffee, pistachio, and lavender all with tapioca bubbles only. I don't like the lychee because of the pop, but if you like that then you'll like what Honey Bubble has! Each drink tastes different, which is a relief, so it's not as if you ordered one then you've ordered them all. Oh, no no no. The most unique tasting one I've had is definitely the lavender. It tastes just like you think lavender would. It's a bit floraly, but very nice and smooth (well, yeah there's milk in it...whatever). The pastries look good, but they're a little expensive, so I have yet to try them. They're all from a local baker, Alon's, so yay small business! The employees are really nice, and sometimes they play Yugio or Pokemon from a projector onto a blank space on the wall. Pro tip 1: Since their parking lot in front of the building is a bit hard to get out of and you're SOL if it's full and you've already entered it, there is a gravel parking lot right behind it. On weekends if there is a game, there is a gentlemen there who makes sure you're not parking to go to the game but to either Honey Bubble or the Chinese restaurant next door. Pro tip 2: Get the frequent buyer card. You don't have to pay for it, but you might need to ask if the cashier forgets. read more

Overhyped in my opinion. I got the signature honey milk bubble tea and it came out in literally 1 second but with no ice. My friend got the same but his came with ice and said it was good. NEVER COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I I wish I could leave -100 stars. I was drinking my bubble tea and to my surprise I found a plastic bag of some sort in my drink. Nasty!!!!!!!! I couldn't see this because the tea was black with extra black tapioca balls and I was drinking this in the car at night. Once I got home and saw it I contacted the store and told them and asked to speak to a manager-they took my number and name and no one contacted me. AND the employee Terry said he called Norel twice and said she would reach out to me. I'm very dissatisfied because this was my favorite spot to go to. I'll never return to this establishment again. They have their signature Royal Tea and Thai Tea already mixed up and ready to dispense. The menu is expansive with hot and cold teas and coffee. You can also get slushies and an ice cream like product....I'm not exactly sure what it is, but the flavors rotate. As far as teas go, you can get milk or clear. The flavors are different. Each one has about 20 flavor options, so indecisive people be warned!! Then about 5 milk options, I get soy! THEN boba choices, they don't only have tapioca pearls....I was eyeing green tea jellies this past visit, but they have lychee, coffee, strawberry, etc. I think I'll have to try the green tea ones next. This place is located on Ponce de Leon, but the front parking lot is very small and cramped, which can be hard to get in and out. They do have a back parking lot you can also park at. For the quality of the drink and how expensive it was (almost $8, the coffee jelly was an extra charge), I don't find it worth it. But look closely, the sole difference of the two bakeries lie in the atmosphere inside each store. If SweetHut is somewhat youthful and colorful, Honey Bubble has chosen for it the laidback and quiet vibe. There is soft music, and sofa-style couch for lounging. Drinks at Honey Bubble is tasty and not too pricey. The sweetness is what stands out, which comes from pure honey ( not sugar like other places). From the honey-sweet tapioca pearls to the milk tea mixture, that subtle sweet taste is truly the most distinct thing about Honey Bubble. Murals inside depict tea and Chinese bamboo, which we thought were very Asian and warm-hearted. The only downside we'd say is the limited topping options that compared to other competitors. Honey Bubble only serves three toppings: tapioca pearls, coffee jelly and aloe vera. Must get: Thai tea: It is the perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. The cream tastes fresh and the tea fragrance is strong. Lavender: It has a mild and pleasantly sweet taste. The lavender scent is not too strong but enough to provide a pleasure with every sip.
