Delicious bubble tea. One of the few spots that makes fancy teas without all the extra sugar. Love that they have rooibos and puerh. You can customize the amount of sweetness which is great. The only complaint would be that the staff usually act like they don't want to be there and are not very friendly. Still, I continue to go back because the product is so good. read more

I come here all the time, and I have been for the past 5 years. I am very disappointed that they have discontinued the punch card... but the customer service is always wonderful, and they use powder instead of syrup, which tastes way better in my opinion. They have a pretty big selection of bubble tea options, comparable to sweet hut, but the atmosphere is WAY BETTER. Perfect place to get work done, and they also have a conference room. Whenever I go to Ponce City Market, I always have to make a stop here. I'm never unsatisfied with their drinks . I typically get their milk bubble teas. Sometimes they make their Thai tea too sweet, but over all it's pretty good. This past visit I got their royal tea and I thought it was a happy medium between sweet and not so sweet. I really, really like this place. The ambiance is very urban hipster. If I went to college near there, I would totally come here and study or do my work. It also seems like a great hangout place. Now, lets talk boba. I only got to order the classic honey boba, which to my picky taste buds was wayyy too sweet and syrupy. On an empty stomach, i think it was a bit too much as well; so be careful. Nevertheless, i think it was still pretty good (4/5). My brother ordered the almond one, which i didn't like but he did. Honeybubble is a nice treat to get if you are craving bubble tea and little treats if you are in the Ponce area. This is not my favorite bubble tea place though. I typically get the Honeybubble Milk Tea and tried a few others but I always feel like it tastes watered down. The flavor isn't that good but it's okay. I have tried different milk tea flavors and other teas they serve and I don't really have a favorite. There isn't enough flavor in there for me. The tapioca pearls (bubbles) are pretty chewy and the other jellies are great as well. They have plenty of other beverages and even ice cream to try out! I only go to this bubble tea place because it's right up the street from where I work. They also have a rewards punch card. The atmosphere is great and open. It's a cool place to hang out with a few friends, have a little meeting in there meeting room, or study. There is also a seating area outside! Very laid back. The staff is helpful and does their best. Tip: the parking lot is VERY small and cramped when it's packed however if you park in the back it's much more spacious. It's free and usually empty! :) Overall it's okay. When I'm at work or going to work I typically stop there to get my bubble tea fix since it's the most convenient. I came here on a Saturday afternoon to try out this bubble tea and was delighted at how tasty it was. They were out of the peach tea, so I got the passion fruit tea. The service was fast. The parking lot is tiny at the front. The taste was good and the price could have been a little less. I would suggest improving on the customer service somewhat as I didn't really feel welcomed. My husband and I dropped in on our way through the city. I ordered a hibiscus tea and asked if I could have both strawberry bubbles and tapioca. He said "of course!" A few moments later, the teller asked what I wanted again and I reiterated I wanted both tapioca and strawberry. My husband ordered an iced coffee. He got it just as he ordered, but it was luke warm with very little ice. My tea only had strawberry bubbles in it with very little ice. Came here an evening a little later so it wasnt too busy. Craving boba so we came here. The quality of the drink was whatever. But the service was pretty poor. We ordered a large drink with aloe in it, it came out as a medium drink. They took the drink back and poured it in a large cup and just added ice to it to fill it all the way. Like HELLOOOOOO I can see you. They dont care. Once the starting to drink, realized there was NO ALOE in it. Had to bring it back and they unsealed the cup again and just dumped aloe in there. At that point do you just make a new drink? I felt pretty disgusted because the sanitation of that, the amount of people touching everything and inconsistency and the fact that the workers suck and dont pay attention. Terrible place. The space is so cozy that it's hard to really even care about the quality of the tea. Look around and sit down to really enjoy the ambience there. They have art on every space on their walls which i can definitely appreciate. Service is always nice and helpful. Their parking is a real pain if they are busy. I recently visited and had a taro milk tea that was pretty bad. Like gross. It had the consistency of a protein shake that wasn't shaken up well so chunky and gritty. The taste was pretty disappointing as well. But I've been here before where I've had decent drinks but gotta give them a three star for their terrible taro tea. read more

A few years ago I was I'm Chinatown in Boston, Mass and was introduced to this amazing tea that was made with almond milk and tapioca pearls! So When I saw this place in passing I got really excited! I was thinking to myself I can't wait to stop by for a cup of tea with tapioca pearls! And when I saw on their website I could get a milk tea with almond milk I really got excited! Today I stopped in and read everything on the menu to make sure I was on the right track. I chatted with this cutie guy behind the counter as to what tea I could get to clear up my stuffy head and I also chatted with some of the regular customers! When I got to the counter I decided on the flavor green tea with ginger root and honey lemon, made with almond milk! I also wanted lychee pearls added to it! The young lady behind the counter told me they were out of honey lemon! When I asked her what other ginger flavors could be added, she starts giving me he run downs on the other flavors. So I told her just give me the ginger root with the almond milk! She ask me if i wanted hot or cold, i said cold! Then she told me she would add a shot of honey to it.........Sweet! I then paid and waited for my name to be called! With my suspicious looking tea In hand I bounced out the door! Talk about major dispointment! :( When I took my 1st slip, I was like WTH! :/ What I had in my cup tasted like they took a cup of water, added some ice, enough vanilla almond milk to give the water a pale white color, and then these lil round balls that reminded me of the way caviar exploding in your mouth, but minus the salty taste! Was really looking forward to trying the lavender milk tea, but unfortunately the boba was not cooked all the way and was entirely inedible due to how hard it was. We also got the wrong topping (boba instead of double lychee) and dairy milk in the other drink which made my friend sick. I really want to love this place but I think there is some confusion. My husband tried to order several simple teas right from the menu and was told they didn't have any of them. He ended up not getting anything. I asked if either of the workers knew if the boba had gluten in it and was told that it does have gluten and I shouldn't have any. But then as we were leaving there was info on the wall that the boba is gluten free. My son ordered a chocolate mint boba tea and loved it so I would love to return but I'm not sure. read more

I freakin love boba I just moved here and tried this place based on their great yelp reviews. I got the lavender boba, which is my favorite flavor, and it tasted artificial and nothing like lavender. I could not finish it, and felt like I wasted my money. I went back in and asked if I could switch it out and they said no, and that I would have to buy a new one.... ? I've had more than my fair share of bubble teas, and I had really high hopes for Honey Bubble. From the outside, the location looked great. There was a huge "Honey Bubble" sign outside with a decent sized parking lot (free parking!) and a chill, cafe vibe inside. When you walk in, you see a large board on the left wall explaining the origin and history of bubble tea. As a Taiwanese American, I really appreciated this and how informative it is for people who may not know about the origins of boba. The menu had a lot of customization, and you even pick what kind of tea and milk you want in your drink. This was a little different for me as most other shops usually customize the amount of sugar or ice, not the tea and milk. I ordered the Japanese Matcha milk tea with soy milk and boba, and thought it was decent. The matcha flavor wasn't too strong and the boba seemed a bit undercooked, as it was hard in the middle. The price is pretty standard, $4 for a medium and a $5 for a large. I think I'll come back and try their signature milk tea and honey milk tea, but the Japanese Matcha was pretty average. read more

The best quality boba tea i've ever had in my life. Before i knew of them i wasn't a boba person at all. Their experience is life changing as i now crave their boba regularly (& their taro brownies which have almost a dreamlike purple tint). the employees are sweet & hard working & the quality of the tapioca pearls is immaculate. the pearls are not hard or anything. they have a wide array of other boba such as jelly or popping boba and an array of teas in addition to the milk teas. they package the top with a heat seal which is satisfying to pop the straw thrthe seating area is comforting & feels almost as if you're in a studio ghibli movie-- like the rain scene in my neighbor totoro. This used to be my go-to bubble tea spot in the city. My experience here yesterday left a lot to be desired. My six year old and I get bubble tea almost every weekend as a special treat. We went to Honey bubble because we were in the area. First thing I noticed was the empty parking lot, a few years ago you'd have to wait to get into this place. Secondly, the menu on the wall had many taped over selections and written in prices and notes. A paper sign taped to the pastry display window saying they're not able to do slushies at the time. The bathroom has a big "out of order" sign. There is absolutely no ambiance and inside and the selection has dwindled significantly. Our order: I ordered myself a taro milk tea with vanilla thrilla rooibos tea as a base, sub coconut milk and tapioca pearls and a strawberry milk tea sub coconut milk with tapioca pearls. This order came up to $18+ I was not expecting that much for two drinks but ok. Once we got our order, we took them outside to the patio area. I shook the strawberry drink and it spilled out of the top, the seal was not sealed completely! Once I tasted my taro drink, the flavor was good albeit watery even without ice but the tapioca pearls were the worst boba I've ever had. The consistency was off putting, the outside was soft and chewy but the inner part was stiff. I ended up drinking the tea and spitting out all of the boba, not the experience I was expecting or paid for. read more

I went in on Labor Day; it was 90 degrees inside and completely under staffed. There were only two people working, and a line out the door. After I waited 40 minutes (!!!!) for a honey jasmine tea the owners wife walks in. I tell her it was absurd to have only two employees working, and that it was inhumane to have them working in 90+ degree heat. The owner strolls in and proceeded to curse me out calling me all sorts of derogatory names. He continues to blame the situation on the employees for not telling him that the AC was out; taking zero responsibility for his businesses short comings. To top it off, the reason they were understaffed was "all these stupid millennials want to take the holiday off and go to Dragon Con." Mind you, this is on Labor Day. The owner was belittling his employees for wanting to take time off on *Labor* Day!!! You cannot make this shit up. Never give these people a dime of your hard earned money. read more

You can turn just about anything into a slushie here. There's pastries from Highland Bakery and Alon's available for purchase and gelato with unique pairings. Check check! I usually get the Royal Milk Bubble Tea or the Taro milk slushie with extra honey. I like my bubble tea way sweeter than the normal person so you'll have to get it custom if you have a raging sweet tooth like me. You can mix flavors together to your hearts desire or take advantage of the already uniquely mixed flavors available on the menu. There's also hot tea and coffee drinks available if bubble tea is not your thing.They stay open until 10 pm on weeknights and free WIFI always! Don't be intimidated by the modern design of this place and the customers who fill up this spot. read more

The name speaks for itself; Honey bubble is a cute bubble tea cafe located in the Poncey-Highlands neighborhood. When I first heard about their opening, I was more curious and somewhat skeptical: "You mean I don't have to drive all the way out to Buford Highway or Duluth for get my bubble tea fix now?" It sounded too good to be true. So I had to check it out immediately. The first time I went to Honey Bubble was on a Sunday afternoon, few days after their grand opening. The place was packed (I didn't even get to hear the Ni Hao greeting that seems to be mentioned in nearly every Yelp review). Since it was my first time, I had to take my time, looking at their extensive tea list. Maybe it was because they were really busy and there was a line of people waiting, but I felt really rushed. Furthermore, they announced that they ran out of tapioca bubbles because of the huge crowd. WHAT?! A bubble tea shop, with the word "bubble" in their store name ran out of tapioca bubbles? So I ended up with a milk tea that was decided rather impulsively with no boba (insert sad face here). Needless to say, my first visit left me a bit disappointed, but I'm a believer of the saying, "everything deserves a second chance." So I went back on a Monday morning - and of course, the place was empty. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the staff (YES! She noticed me this time!). I took my time looking at their tea list, weighing different options, asked for suggestions, and made an informed decision. I left the place with an actual bubble tea in my hand, delighted in knowing that I don't have to drive 30 minutes to get a decent bubble tea from now on. Since then, I've been back numerous times, trying different tea each time. You can't go wrong with the Signature Royal Milk Honey Bubble Tea. However, my absolute favorite is the Japanese Sencha with aloe vera jelly. It's really creamy yet refreshing; the texture of the aloe vera jelly goes really well with the Sencha. If you like coconut flavor, the Coconut Palm was also very tasty. I wasn't too fond of the Strawberry milk tea - it tasted really artificial and the strawberry flavor was somewhat missing. If I wasn't told that it was Strawberry flavor, I wouldn't have known. I've observed that the service is now more consistent. Perhaps the staff were not as experienced when I first went, seeing as how it was only a few days after their opening. While they do have a private lot, it is small and if you go on a busy day, you will most likely have to park on the street. read more

My choice, a tea mixed with lychee flavoring and lychee pearls ( no milk), was delicious and very authentic. I also tried my boyfriend's honeydew flavored bubble tea with milk. I have never been to a bubble tea shop that tasted this authentic...and I'm picky. The atmosphere was great, the location was great, everything was great-- please support this place! I am a bubble tea lover, but don't get them very often because I haven't found a good spot that's convenient to me. Alas, Honey Bubble opens up down the street & now I'm officially a bubble tea junkie. They've only been open since mid-January, and I'm already on my second "frequent buyer" punch card. Everyone that works here is super friendly & are genuinely happy to help you with any questions you have about the menu - including giving you samples to try. I usually stick with the classic tapioca pearls, but they also have aloe vera jelly (taste & texture is similar to tiny pieces of diced up pear), coffee pearls (coffee flavored jelly pieces) & different flavored juice pearls (I don't know how else to explain it - basically tiny bubbles with juice inside - I've tried their orange & lychee - both good). You choose a milk tea or regular tea, pick your flavor & the type of "bubbles" you want added. My favorite flavors so far are Almond, Lavender, Taro, Chai & their traditional Royal Milk Tea. But I'm sure as I venture out to more flavors, this list will grow. A medium is $3 and a large is $4 - this is the total price including tax. Honey Bubble also has a great assortment of sweets from Alon's (cupcakes, croissants, macaroons, etc). I've had a few different cupcakes which were great, and almost always leave with a couple of macaroons (the rosewater & almond ones are my fave). They have gelato from Honeysuckle (amazing!) & a bunch of other small asian snacks that look good, but I haven't tried yet. On the weekends this place gets pretty packed - but you never have to wait long. They have a super cute set up with plenty of comfy spots to lounge & work on your laptop. I've always got my stuff to-go, but it's clear this place is a great alternative to those who want a place to hang that's not a coffee shop. I'll share what I thought Honey Bubble was worth the 2 stars for. The decor is very trendy modern. The shop is located borderline Highlands/Midtown and I think it's a snazzy little study joint convenient enough for students. The space is kind of small and cramped, but decent enough for a space in the city. There's tables, couches, and barstools so you can sit anywhere. Okay so the drinks. They were not the best. I tried the signature royal tea and taro. Both tasted like warm water mixed with some powder. I'm sorry but this is NOT bubble tea. There is no milky tea-like composure to this bubble tea drink concept they have. I was pretty disappointed and thought the drive was a waste. Also, $4 for a Regular is a little hefty for a cup of boba. I understand that it's in the city, but also surrounded by plenty of college students who could probably spend the $4 on a cup of Starbucks. All in all, I like the concept. The inside is trendy & chill; however, i strongly believe the recipe needs an alteration. I wouldn't even be able to consider this bubble tea Owner comment -- " As Buddha says Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. Perhaps consider a new hobby. " You are going to get plenty of good/bad reviews. Can't chase everyone into liking your product or keep chasing everyone to change their opinion. As an avid bubble tea drinker, I happened to stumble by this nice quaint place in the Ponce area. The parking is extremely tight where as the actual store is rather roomy with separate rooms intended for groups. The lighting, especially towards sunset, can get rather pleasant, and when mixed with the other graphics around the wall and dining area, creates a casual place to study, chill, and hang out. As for the bubble tea itself. The price is a little steep when compared to my personal favorites of Kung Fu Tea and Sweet Hut. As for the tapioca, there is a difference in texture and sweetness, yet not enough for me to claim it is definitively better than KFT's. The tea itself is good, just not great. With my friends ordering Honey Jasmine Green Tea, Thai Iced Tea, and Honeybubble Milk Tea, we all agreed that the taste is average to good at best. read more

Taro smoothie -the BEST! Okay, I already know that I am going to be a regular here after visiting two days in a row. Their taro smoothies/ice slushie with tapioca bubbles and a sip of my friend's Vanilla Chai Iced tea with soy milk and tapioca are all I have been so fortunate to appreciate thus far. Oh my, yes yes! I have sadly been without for the last almost 7 months since my arrival from California where Taro smoothies with "boba" was a regular delightful treat for me. And/or taro yogurt, -yum. Enter Honey Bubble! My prayers have been answered! -All the more so on these extra hot days. Like yesterday: After leaving The Food Festival going on at Piedmont Park, (-via my trike with doggy in tow; -he gets to relax in big basket between back two wheels) we decide to veer of off the Beltline down some rocky slope behind Kroger (on Ponce) and make a beeline to Honey Bubble just a few blocks away. We experienced exceptional customer service. Not only was the taro smoothie on hit once again, they went out of their way to accommodate my doggy. One of the employees brought HD a bowl of fresh cold water without me even asking, Thank You! And I was offered a punch card from the courteous gentleman behind the register.
