The name speaks for itself; Honey bubble is a cute bubble tea cafe located in the Poncey-Highlands neighborhood. When I first heard about their opening, I was more curious and somewhat skeptical: "You mean I don't have to drive all the way out to Buford Highway or Duluth for get my bubble tea fix now?" It sounded too good to be true. So I had to check it out immediately. The first time I went to Honey Bubble was on a Sunday afternoon, few days after their grand opening. The place was packed (I didn't even get to hear the Ni Hao greeting that seems to be mentioned in nearly every Yelp review). Since it was my first time, I had to take my time, looking at their extensive tea list. Maybe it was because they were really busy and there was a line of people waiting, but I felt really rushed. Furthermore, they announced that they ran out of tapioca bubbles because of the huge crowd. WHAT?! A bubble tea shop, with the word "bubble" in their store name ran out of tapioca bubbles? So I ended up with a milk tea that was decided rather impulsively with no boba (insert sad face here). Needless to say, my first visit left me a bit disappointed, but I'm a believer of the saying, "everything deserves a second chance." So I went back on a Monday morning - and of course, the place was empty. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the staff (YES! She noticed me this time!). I took my time looking at their tea list, weighing different options, asked for suggestions, and made an informed decision. I left the place with an actual bubble tea in my hand, delighted in knowing that I don't have to drive 30 minutes to get a decent bubble tea from now on. Since then, I've been back numerous times, trying different tea each time. You can't go wrong with the Signature Royal Milk Honey Bubble Tea. However, my absolute favorite is the Japanese Sencha with aloe vera jelly. It's really creamy yet refreshing; the texture of the aloe vera jelly goes really well with the Sencha. If you like coconut flavor, the Coconut Palm was also very tasty. I wasn't too fond of the Strawberry milk tea - it tasted really artificial and the strawberry flavor was somewhat missing. If I wasn't told that it was Strawberry flavor, I wouldn't have known. I've observed that the service is now more consistent. Perhaps the staff were not as experienced when I first went, seeing as how it was only a few days after their opening. I made a Yelp! account just so I could write this review. Honey Bubble had a ton of choices: milk, soy milk, lactaid milk, tapioca boba, aloe vera boba and slushies. My choice, a tea mixed with lychee flavoring and lychee pearls ( no milk), was delicious and very authentic. I also tried my boyfriend's honeydew flavored bubble tea with milk. I have never been to a bubble tea shop that tasted this authentic...and I'm picky. The atmosphere was great, the location was great, everything was great-- please support this place! All the workers were new ( obviously) and a little confused. After a few weeks, I'm sure everything will run perfectly. read more

I am a bubble tea lover, but don't get them very often because I haven't found a good spot that's convenient to me. Alas, Honey Bubble opens up down the street & now I'm officially a bubble tea junkie. They've only been open since mid-January, and I'm already on my second "frequent buyer" punch card. Everyone that works here is super friendly & are genuinely happy to help you with any questions you have about the menu - including giving you samples to try. I usually stick with the classic tapioca pearls, but they also have aloe vera jelly (taste & texture is similar to tiny pieces of diced up pear), coffee pearls (coffee flavored jelly pieces) & different flavored juice pearls (I don't know how else to explain it - basically tiny bubbles with juice inside - I've tried their orange & lychee - both good). You choose a milk tea or regular tea, pick your flavor & the type of "bubbles" you want added. My favorite flavors so far are Almond, Lavender, Taro, Chai & their traditional Royal Milk Tea. But I'm sure as I venture out to more flavors, this list will grow. A medium is $3 and a large is $4 - this is the total price including tax. Honey Bubble also has a great assortment of sweets from Alon's (cupcakes, croissants, macaroons, etc). I've had a few different cupcakes which were great, and almost always leave with a couple of macaroons (the rosewater & almond ones are my fave). They have gelato from Honeysuckle (amazing!) & a bunch of other small asian snacks that look good, but I haven't tried yet. On the weekends this place gets pretty packed - but you never have to wait long. They have a super cute set up with plenty of comfy spots to lounge & work on your laptop. I've always got my stuff to-go, but it's clear this place is a great alternative to those who want a place to hang that's not a coffee shop. I hate giving out stars any less than 3. I'm sorry this review won't be shining bright like a diamond, but yelp is all about real people & real reviews. I'll share what I thought Honey Bubble was worth the 2 stars for. The decor is very trendy modern. The shop is located borderline Highlands/Midtown and I think it's a snazzy little study joint convenient enough for students. The space is kind of small and cramped, but decent enough for a space in the city. There's tables, couches, and barstools so you can sit anywhere. Okay so the drinks. They were not the best. I tried the signature royal tea and taro. Both tasted like warm water mixed with some powder. I'm sorry but this is NOT bubble tea. There is no milky tea-like composure to this bubble tea drink concept they have. I was pretty disappointed and thought the drive was a waste. Also, $4 for a Regular is a little hefty for a cup of boba. I understand that it's in the city, but also surrounded by plenty of college students who could probably spend the $4 on a cup of Starbucks. All in all, I like the concept. The inside is trendy & chill; however, i strongly believe the recipe needs an alteration. I wouldn't even be able to consider this bubble tea Owner comment -- " As Buddha says Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. Perhaps consider a new hobby. " You are going to get plenty of good/bad reviews. Can't chase everyone into liking your product or keep chasing everyone to change their opinion. Taro smoothie -the BEST! Okay, I already know that I am going to be a regular here after visiting two days in a row. Their taro smoothies/ice slushie with tapioca bubbles and a sip of my friend's Vanilla Chai Iced tea with soy milk and tapioca are all I have been so fortunate to appreciate thus far. Oh my, yes yes! I have sadly been without for the last almost 7 months since my arrival from California where Taro smoothies with "boba" was a regular delightful treat for me. And/or taro yogurt, -yum. Enter Honey Bubble! My prayers have been answered! -All the more so on these extra hot days. Like yesterday: After leaving The Food Festival going on at Piedmont Park, (-via my trike with doggy in tow; -he gets to relax in big basket between back two wheels) we decide to veer of off the Beltline down some rocky slope behind Kroger (on Ponce) and make a beeline to Honey Bubble just a few blocks away. We experienced exceptional customer service. Not only was the taro smoothie on hit once again, they went out of their way to accommodate my doggy. One of the employees brought HD a bowl of fresh cold water without me even asking, Thank You! And I was offered a punch card from the courteous gentleman behind the register. I've been hearing about this bubble tea for awhile, and plus it's constantly showing up on my ScoutMob list, so, yanno it was time to give them a try. I've been on my serious health kick, so I was inclined to google bubble tea prior to going and asking google if it was healthy. Basically, it's more sugar and milk and carbs than tea, so technically it's about as healthy as glass of sweet tea (which we all know isn't healthy). But never the mind, I still wanted it, especially since I am a tea lover (moreso of hot tea though). LOCATION: It was easy enough to find, right off Ponce, and directly across from the Clermont Hotel like others have mentioned. Parking is sorta tight, there's technically about 8 spots up front, but I feel like if all spots were filled it'd be hard for some to back out. There's extra parking in back, behind the shop. DECOR/ATMOSPHERE: Loved it. I mean this really is a very lovely space to go study or have a quick meeting. There are all types of seating, tables, couches. And best of all there's a good amount of it. The style is what I'll call "modern Ponce", it's similar in style to other restaurants off Ponce de Leon, especially on that particular row, but it has it's own yellow/gray/white honey bubble flair. It was calm, quiet and serene when I visited on a Monday afternoon. There were only about 3 people there studying. I would guess that it's probably more noise on the weekends, and many more people. TEA & GOODIES: I decided to keep it classic and opted for their Signature Honey Royal Milk Honey Bubble Tea, as well as 3 macaroons. I asked them about skim milk, and she stated that their signature tea is already pre made, and it has a non dairy creamer. I was a little confused as I looked at the menu and it gave options, and I think she could see that I was trying to understand what she meant. But basically she was trying to be nice about saying, "you don't have an option on the type of milk when you order our signature drink". It was just okay. It tasted like a mix between sweet tea and a cold latte. I guess the real answer to how much I liked it is that fact that it is 82% full and sitting in my fridge. God Bless Scoutmob for allowing us to try these type things at half off. ($4 for medium, which I got, and $5 for large) I ordered a chocolate, lemon, and almond macaroon. I haven't had these in a very awhile, so I was anxious/excited/happy to finally get some. They order them from Alon's Bakery and sale them here at $2 a pop. The lemon wasn't that good, the chocolate was okay, but the almond (which looks vanilla) was very tasty and not as overpowering as the others. CUSTOMER SERVICE: So far so good, the girls who served me were nice SUMMARY: As of now bubble tea isn't for me, and the fact that it is high in calories means that I won't have more anytime soon. However this place is adorable and I will definitely come back on a day when I want to study and get out the house. I'll just order a small hot green tea instead, or maybe I'll try their slushies :-) UPDATE: Took away a star for the dishonest pricing. I was charged more for an item than was painted and listed hugely on there wall. FALSE INFORMATION is not cool, especially if it's huge and glaring at me. How many more people are the duping? I was quite skeptical to try it out since it's a bubble tea shop, smack dab in the middle of decatur. now i'm not sure if honey bubble is owned by an asian or a white person, but the feel and taste definitely tastes "american" -- if that makes any sense. you don't get that authentic, taiwanese flavor. the syrups here are in tall glass bottles with a pump dispenser. of course, there are no company labels on the glass syrup bottles, but they resemble a "torani" or "monin" syrup bottle. so perhaps that is what syrup they use in order to add flavor into their bubble teas. as for their teas, I noticed that some were already pre-mixed in big, wide mouth jars that have spigots attached. that was definitely interesting. it reminded me kind of like how suno and chatime had some of their teas already prepped and displayed -- and ready for quick dispensing. they offer 2 distinctive categories for their bubble teas. you have the option of choosing "milk teas" or "clear teas". the milk teas or explanatory, but for those who don't know what clear teas may be... it's the fruity flavors. for example, "lychee black tea" would be a "clear" tea. me & the bf opted to try their lychee green tea and passionfruit green tea. they got our orders technically right, but it WAS NOT to our liking. after taking the first sip, we discovered that they use more herbal teas when it comes to your typical green or black tea. therefore, the syrup proportion to the strong and bitter flavor of the tea overtook the sweetness and flavoring of the syrup. the bf wasn't too impressed, but he didn't care to get his fixed. but in order for me to even finish mines, I had to get them to pump more passionfruit syrup into my cup. fortunately, they were more than happy to do so. they also explained to me that their teas are freshly brewed from real tea leaves or something like that, so that would be the reason why they don't mind editing drinks for you if it's not to your liking. that gesture gave them extra kudos in my book. also, the bubble tea ended up tasting much better and almost just as good as a true taiwanese boba shops :] quick notes to keep in mind: - only 2 sizes of bubble tea available; $4 for medium, $5 for large (tax included!) -- that's pricey in comparison to the other competitors - downside is there is only 1 free topping per drink (excluding certain toppings). you are able to add more toppings, but they are about 0.50-0.75 extra - per topping - their teas are organic! never seen that before - VERY limited parking; it looked like it could only fit about 12 in the front, but I saw a sign that said there were more parking spots in the rear. I didn't see it, so no clue on that. - the interior resembles a coffee shop with a modern, yet hipster vibe - there a couple of tables and 2 sofas in front of the counter. then there's a small back room near the restrooms that have a big study tables with chairs all around - aside from selling bubble tea, they also offer snacks from fellow atlanta bakeries (alon's and highland) and "fine teas" (japan genmaicha, peach apricot, lavender, etc.) - their flavor options are more catered towards an "american palette" - there are flavors like pomegranate and pistachio.. interesting - they offer free wifi; yay! read more

We stopped by on Saturday night post dinner. The joint is clean, staff is friendly, and decor is stereotypically all that is Asian but in a fun way that's fitting for the venue. There's kung fu being projected, tea pots and wooden art hung on the walls, and even a samurai sword or two strategically placed. There was also a separate room with walls made of chalkboard where people can write humorous notes to future visitors and it gives a little added privacy for those actually doing real "work." When we walked in there was only one other couple there but as we sat and sipped our bubble teas, this place got a lot busier. Being that it was nighttime already, they were all out of pastries and desserts which is what I really wanted. I LIKE bubble teas but I never CRAVE bubble teas. This time around I picked a bubble tea that was milk free, which I had never had before. I got the lychee bubble tea with tapioca beads. I was also able to try the passion fruit bubble tea (also milk free) with mango pearls. They were both ok. I probably should have stuck with what I'm used to (milk based bubble teas) because I probably would have enjoyed those more. This place is really good. Admittedly, I am not too picky about bubble tea. I like places like Quickly and Suno a lot, even though lots of people say that the flavors taste "chalky" since they use artificial powders and such. I don't mind it at all. The one thing I am picky about is tapioca consistency. I guess I like them... al dente? Cooked through, but still chewy. Most definitely not mushy. Went to Honey Bubble for the first time, and here, not only is the tapioca perfect, even a non-boba snob like me could taste the difference that this tea is not made with powder and is actually authentic. First, you choose a flavor (there are tons. It will be difficult to choose just one.) Then, you choose either black or green tea base. Then, you choose your milk (if you're ordering a milk-tea, which I always do.) The "clear bubble tea" has no milk. Milk choices range from whole to Lactaid to soy. I ordered the cantaloupe (a huge change from my regular honeydew) with green tea base. It was so good. Sweet, but not too sweet. Maybe not as milky as I was expecting, but very good. I chose 2% instead of whole, so that might explain the less milkiness. My friend ordered the coconut palm with black tea base. She was really happy with it. I tried it and could see why. It was also very good. I will definitely come back. The ladies there were very friendly, especially a new hire. She told me she has only been working there a short time. She was really sweet! I love that they serve Alon's and Honeysuckle Gelato goodies. Both some personal faves of mine. It's been well over a year since my first visit to Honey Bubble. And I gotta say... These guys are still turning out the best bubble tea in Atlanta! Forget Sweet Hut! This place is the bomb! While at one point I was frequenting this place almost daily, I've cut back for my waist's sake. But when I visit, it's a real treat. The decor is tight. The staff is fabulous. I love Lin and Carlos. They know they're stuff when it comes to the product. And those macarons. Lord, help me! I always go for the Black Currant one. And, of course, there's the tea. I even created my own speciality bubble tea and called it Nuts About You. It's a slushy combo of matcha, pistachio, almond, and soy milk with a splash of signature royal milk tea. You can thank me later for that one. I've also recently tapped into their hot, loose teas. Was I ever missing out! I love me some of that spiced apple tea and that ginger peach. Served hot or cold, they're so refreshing. It's gonna be hard to say bye to these guys when I move to NYC. read more

I'm not a huge bubble tea fan. I just don't dig on the tapioca pearls. I'll eat about three of them then I get sick of trying to make sure I don't suck one up into my throat while drinking. I do love tea though, even more than coffee. I also love beautiful design which this place definitely qualifies. It has a great vibe and seems like the perfect spot to come and hang for a bit chatting with friends or working on your computer. When it warms up I think an outside patio under that covered area would be perfect for hanging out and enjoying some tea or gelato. I got the signature royal milk tea and I thought it was pretty damn tasty. Who knows how many calories are in that bad boy, but I didn't feel it was watered down.. maybe milked down, but that's the point. I also got a scoop of our very own local brand gelato - Honeysuckle. I want to edit on my previous review to more correctly reflect my experience here: Price- it is now $1.50 more than competition (vs just at 0.50$ more when they first opened). I'm willing to still pay this price ($4 med/$5 lg) for a high quality tea that I can actual tell, but it is definitely pushing my limit. Tapioca: they listened to us and are cooking their tapioca longer to get that more chewy consistency! Is it the best tapioca ever? No, but its good enough that I can just fully enjoy my drink. Tapioca amount: you can ask for an extra scoop of tapioca, which will make the drink with just the right amount of tapioca for me! Horribly disappointed with how the service has fallen in this place. My previous review and experience was much better. A mark of a good bubble tea place is one that allows you to taste the products and doesn't limit it to 4 flavors, especially when they used to do it in the past. When I asked the barista about tasting a certain flavor (mango thai), she nonchalantly said, "you can taste that but we have to make it" with the implication being "I don't want to do that". When we came in, there was no rush. No one greeted us and the barista made it seem like she was doing a favor by taking my order. Holy crap. What happened here!? Honey Bubble is okay, it always seems to take longer that it should to make a bubble tea when they have 3 people behind the counter. Other places (Suno or White Windmill) I frequent seem to have you in and out quickly. I usually get the standard black milk tea and a few macarons, but this time I tried the Japanese matcha, which was pretty good. I'll stop here if I'm driving by and the parking lot isn't full, but otherwise it's not a bubble tea place I go out of my way to visit. Everyone seems to love this place I was pretty excited to find one close by I usually drive to Buford highway and get the real bubble teas. I read a review someone wrote about whether this is owned by Asians or Whites. That review seems to have said what I was thinking as I sipped on my traditional bubble tea. I hope this doesn't offend any particular race but god dam bubble teas are done right by Asian owned bubble tea businesses. Plus I didn't get the feel it was Asian owned. My drink wasn't horrible it just didn't taste like an authentic bubble tea. But this establishment is cute, clean and friendly. BUT the bubbles are not sweetened as far as I can tell which is a little ironic since it's called honey bubble. One of the first things I do upon arriving in a place that I may consider moving to is find where all the Asian places are: pho, boba, and sushi. SEATING In Midtown, this place is too cute. The seating area is nice and big, with lots of big tables for studying and wifi for the laptop users. BOBA I got the Signature Royal Honey Boba Milk Tea. That was very very good. I think the drinks are quite expensive at $4, but I don't think there is much competition for boba here so they can monopolize for the time being. We also got the Lavender Milk Tea. This was also very good. The first sip had tons of lavender, but the milk tea got stronger and much better the more I drank. This place is awesome because they have so many real teas to choose from. A lot of times it's just an Oolong with various flavorings then fruit-type "teas". This place has various black teas, oolongs, and green teas to include Rooibos and Pu-Erh. I got the Pu-Erh and it was steeped perfectly and prepared to my instructions - dig it. My compatriots like their teas but they said they got too much boba...whereas I didn't think I got very much boba so maybe a little inconsistency on the boba input but otherwise awesome. People seem to like it as it was pretty busy but we got our drinks in decent time. read more

I was first introduced to "boba tea" in K-town in LA, so I wasn't sure what to expect in the South... well I was impressed! I ordered the signature Royal Honey milk tea and it was perfect! Some honey flavored milk teas can be too sweet and almost nauseating. This was just right, and the tapioca pearls were the perfect amount and consistency. Tip- They don't accept cards for purchases under $5, so bring cash, or just go for the large, which is 4.99, (close enough) and they'll run your card for that. I usually enjoy this place and the drinks, but the last time I came here was a very disappointing experience. I ordered the drink i usually get, but when I received it, it was not the correct flavor i ordered. When I took the drink back up to the counter, the employees would not let me exchange the drink for the correct flavor and told me i had to pay for a new one. I basically ended up throwing away a full drink that I had to pay for because they wouldn't let me exchange it. Terrible customer service. Skip it. I tried a couple of the teas (they offer samples which is nice): royal milk and Thai tea. Both OK, but nothing special. I ordered a lychee green tea with boba which was disgustingly sweet. The boba wasn't good, it wasn't chewy and the flavor was off. Before ordering my friend asked if they could adjust sweetness and was told they can add honey to make it sweeter or black tea to make it less sweet - what?? They can't just add less sugar? Makes it sound like the teas aren't really freshly prepared. We also ordered macarons which came out cracked and poorly flavored. All and all not a repeater! I love the location of Honey Bubble, their decor, and the arrangement of their space. I was very excited to try it since I'd heard so many great things and was even considering bringing my writing group there on a regular basis. The drink I ordered, chai latte, was delicious and hot, the perfect thing for a fall day. But the two women behind the counter were very abrupt to the point of rudeness. When asked about the possibility of reserving their back room a couple of times per month for my group, the woman informed me that it was possible, but I shouldn't expect to come into the shop and use up the air conditioning, free wifi, and electricity and not buy anything, When my friend asked about Honey Bubble carrying almond milk as an option, the same woman said that they were not a supermarket and cannot be expected to carry an endless variety of milks. After having bubble tea from a few places all over Atlanta, I think Honey bubble is my favorite. Yes, even with Sweet Hut now open in Midtown. This is just a few minutes from me and I love how they go about making their teas - no mixes or powders - teas are brewed daily. Using honey and brown sugar as sweeteners so they aren't too sweet (to me). Their signature royal milk tea is one of my favorites to get. I also enjoy the Thai Tea and Salted Caramel and have yet to really deviate from those three. The salted caramel is one of the sweeter ones but I usually mix it with another. You can mix 2 teas for .75 cents extra. Prices are higher than most bubble tea places but they also put in more effort and care into the process. I'm fine with that. Plenty of sweet treats from local bakeries. Seating is available and there are usually people lounging around. Parking can be hairy if it's busy. Tiny lot but there is parking in the back. Ambiance: Very nice. One thing I hate is when a business opens up too soon without giving proper attention to aesthetics. Everything in the store looks and feels quality, from the stools and chairs to the wood accents on the walls. There's plenty of space and a couple of couches to commandeer if the mood so strikes. The music was soft, albeit generic, chillout/electronica, but it went well with the vibe of the decor and didn't interfere with conversation. Location: Works great for me as it's within reasonable walking distance. The front parking lot is tiny - there's about 9 or 10 spaces that get quickly taken as patrons tend to linger. Side street parking seems safe and adequate though, as long as common sense is implemented. Product: I've only been here once and only had tea. No bubbles (sorry but sucking balls through a big straw is not my thing - to each his own). I love the fact that they have several unique blends that make it ok to part with my money (not like most coffee shops that sell you Numi that you could buy at Kroger). The Royal Milk is on point and was very refreshing. My lady had the gelato, which seemed ok, but her bar has been set pretty high by more specialized establishments. Hats off to the ladies and gentleman behind the counter. Super nice, super helpful and all smiles. Says a lot about the management. Overall I could see myself returning and making this a periodic 'step away for a minute' hangout. Good work. read more

This place was just okay in my opinion. I had some time to kill and I wanted to hang out at a coffee shop. The inside was nice and I liked the decor. The coffee itself was alright. When I was studying for finals, this was my go-to place! It is decently quiet in there for studying, and there is even a little back room, to get away from the register area. There are plenty of tables to sit at, although I wish there were more computer plugs! The tea is great! I have had a bunch of different kinds, and enjoyed them all. One of my favorites is the Salted Carmel, although it is pretty sweet. I like getting the coffee jellies instead of the tapioca ones, because the tapioca texture freaks me out a little bit. I also like that there are soy and lactaid options (although I need neither, it is nice that they cater to a large audience). read more

A trip to Honey Bubble is like Disney World. You look forward to it all day long. You plan out in your head exactly what you want to try. Parking is awful, but always worth it to open the door and smell the fresh smell of boba. Sometimes I get stuck with sassy cashiers, but sometimes I get some as sweet as the little macaroons themselves. There's no comparison to this bubble tea. It's as wonderful as their Instagram feed. The competition really doesn't stand a chance of the thick rich taste of their milk teas (sorry Sweet Hut and Rustic Couch). Hoping they open new locations soon. At the end of the day it's the most magical place in Atlanta. p.s. I miss seeing the owner and her little son with his big binders doing homework. Bring him back! read more

If you're a bubble tea enthusiast in Atlanta who hasn't been to Honey Bubble yet, you are definitely missing out. They are located on Ponce right next to Java Jive (make sure to keep an eye out, they are sort of buried in there). The parking situation isn't ideal, as they only have a couple spots right in front of the shop, but there is additional parking behind the building. They have an extensive menu of delicious milk and regular teas with lots of options for customization including different flavors, tea bases, milk, and mix-ins like tapioca and jellies. By far my favorite tea is the pistachio-taro with black tea, lactaid milk, and the tapioca pearls. Their signature tea and thai tea are also both really good on their own and mixed together. In addition to the tea, they have an entire selection of pastries from a couple local places including Alon's and Highland Bakery. If you have a sweet tooth I'd definitely recommend picking up a couple of the macaroons - the almond, lemon, and pistachio flavors are all delicious. They also have really good (but very rich) cupcakes. The space that they have and the atmosphere are super trendy. They have an entire room and a couple walls throughout that are floor to ceiling chalkboards, and people draw and write all over them - some of the artwork in there is just remarkable. They also have a bunch of really comfy couches if you want to lounge or tables with outlet access if you need to get work done. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Ni hao! The staff all greet you in almost-unison when you enter the shop. Tried a Brooklyn egg cream, since it seems the reviews so far have been on the boba drinks. Not bad...fizzy and syrupy, just how it should be. Macarons are a delicious and delicate snack/dessert, at $2 a pop. Cupcakes from Alon's looked great, though I didn't partake. A little pricey, but not any more so than other bubble teas or other cupcake/macaron/gelato places. Tiny parking lot, and yes, an aforementioned view of the Clermont Lounge. Nice to see influences of Buford Highway finally infiltrate further south into the city, and selfishly, closer to my home. read more

When one takes tea, bubbles are not often part of the experience... that is until now. Thanks to Honey Bubble, Atlantans can now sip and chew their tea! I was a skeptic at first and couldnt quite wrap my mind around the concept of tapioca pearls in my tea but I was quickly converted to a believer. Those little chewy tapioca pearls are addictive. This is the only Honey Bubble location known to man and we are lucky to have it! The shop offers milk bubble tea, clear bubble tea, and just tea tea... the kind of tea that comes to mind when you think of tea... I started with the milk bubble tea (with soy) and havent been able to move on to another menu item because it's so good. There are plenty of other options though and the staff is great about helping you navigate the menu. It can be a bit overwhelming if you are new to the world of bubble tea. Honey Bubble also offers pastries from local bakeries, such as Alon's so you can really do it up if you want to. The location is right on Ponce and they have a tiny parking lot in the front as well as parking in the back. The cafe area is unique and has ample seating as well as what appears to be a mini conference room/study room with a chalkboard wall. Cool! My only reason for witholding that 5th star is their newly implemented $5 minimum on debit/credit cards. I am not a carrier of cash and my drink costs $4... so.... if I do not have cash I will go somewhere else. Other than that, it's bubblicious!! (Had to say it). read more

Indeed I am a fan! Cute little tapioca shop in the heart of down town Atlanta, located next to a Chinese Restaurant. I came to visit my fiance who is stationed at Fort Benning, about an hour away from Atlanta so he comes up to explore the city quite often. He's a tapioca drink fanatic (more than a guy should...? haha) and HAD to take me here. I immediately fell in love with the exterior! It was hipster, chill, casual, relaxing and down to earth. Plenty of seating and tables around as well as a lounge area with a couch. I've noticed group meetings, patrons studying and social gatherings held here and I've only gone twice! They offer an endless amount of drinks from coffee to tapioca drinks to smoothies AND exotic teas. They also offer baked goods...macarons!!!, cupcakes, cookies etc. Staff are very friendly, and they were adequately staffed during peak hours for a quicker service. I tend to order the same thing everywhere I go so I got the Mango Green Tea over ice with tapioca. It was refreshingly delicious! My fiance ordered the Taro(?) and he enjoyed it as well. The tapioca pearls were cooked right, soft and chewy, what I really look for in a tapioca drink. My favorite part about this place is their bathroom and wall blackboard! The wall blackboard is for patrons to go wild with their imagination! Very creative, I put my wedding date up there :). And the bathroom....you just have to check it out. Let's just say they are very environmentally friendly. You'll get a good chuckle out of their bathroom! Next time I'm in Atlanta I'm hittin' up this local joint! read more

Honey Bubble's tea is so unique and the tea is superb. The care put into every drink on the menu makes honey bubble a super rare and delightful experience. But strictly from an earth friendly standpoint: Positives: In shop, I found out that the Honey Bubble does use LED bulbs and energy efficient toilets and thermostat system, showing that the company is passionate about being environmentally responsible, but the shop could do more to alleviate the day to day waste that every transaction creates. Negatives: Honey bubble has almost no environmental relief when it comes to their packaging. Honey Bubble serves every single drink in a recyclable plastic cup with a plastic seal and a plastic straw. Except there is no recycling receptacle to retrieve such waste. Even patrons who enjoy their tea in the shop receive their drinks in plastic, when they could be served in washable cups, just as other restaurants do. Please consider an alternative to your plasticware. Look for biodegradable- plant based containers to serve your to-go drinks in. You could then offer a compost bin in store for your customers to use. Your eat-in customer's drinks could be served in glassware or other containers that could be washed in store. The environment will be thankful. Your customers would appreciate your company changing into even more of a more conscientious and responsible small business. read more

Imagine my surprise to see this place open. I already had a smoothie in the car so I returned the next day. It's delightful to know that I can get bubble tea intown now. I usually only have it when visiting New York City. Yeah, yeah....I know there is bubble tea to be found along the Buford Highway corridor. But let's face it, as far as distance is concerned, Buford Highway might as well be NYC for a Midtown Atlanta resident. No surprises here, decent bubble tea and a good location. The decor is pretty nice. This place would definitely work well for coffee or dessert after as dinner date. The macaroons are pretty good. Not the best I've had, a wee bit dense, but nothing to scoff at either. I had a sample of the green tea gelato, also yummy. The only reason I don't rate this place five stars is because the prices are a little steep. Everything is pretty tasty, and the relative dearth of bubble tea in the neighborhood allows me to look past the prices. read more
