My new spot for meetings and great tea, I stumbled across this spot when I started my year off Jan 1st and i wanted something refreshing and found this GEM of the Ponce Area after golfing earlier i tried this and fell in Love. I had the ginger tea chilled with aloe bubbles And I created a great combo of fresh and spicy . Okay, so far, Atlanta has NOT let me down. Disclaimer: I am somewhat new to boba, but I tried quite a few different spots back in Dallas and this one has surpassed them all. I got the Thai tea (as recommended by several other Yelp reviewers) and I was honestly blown away by how delicious it was!! The Thai tea flavor really came across, as did the sweetness, without being overpowering. The one thing I will say though is that the boba pearls themselves were a little stickier than I'm used to; one actually got stuck in my straw and I had to extract it before I could finish my drink! So just be aware of that, and maybe grab an extra straw in case that happens to you too. Otherwise, though, 10/10 will most definitely visit this place again! My friend got the classic honey bubble tea and enjoyed that; she said the honey flavor came through in the aftertaste. Next time I come here, I might try that one. If you are used to sweet teas, this place is for you. I was very hopeful with the options to change the milk style from dairy or nondairy alternatives. But coming from CA my taste buds are so used to getting the lowest sweetness level 25% that I couldn't handle the sweetness of the milk tea I had. My friends got the green tea, hubs got thai tea & I got black milk tea. I presume that the sweetness at Honeybubble was overly sweet for me because I got mine iceless and there isn't dilution, Honeybubble tea probably needs be with ice to get the right taste. Overall my friends and I felt we've had better milk tea. I even think the milk tea at GoCha in Missouri is better. Being as I chose to try this place while driving through because of all the overall high reviews, I'm curious if the other milk tea places in the area reviewers commented would have satisfied my milk tea craving or given me the same disappointment. =/ read more

If you are looking for a lady back, easy going tea lounge with plenty of space to study or kick back this is the location for you! I am common regular here trying the various teas whether hot or cold. My go to is the snow cap slushees I've tried a majority of them but I always recommend the passion fruit. I had no intention of going to Honey Bubble today. That is until some friends of mine decided (on a whim) to go find a bubble tea place. I'm usually up for an adventure, so I agreed... and I was not disappointed. I definitely feel like this is one of those places that I'm going to have to come back to many times to get the full effect, but here's what would be important for anyone: make sure you ask what flavors mix well. You could easily make a poor decision and end up hating the place. Don't be that guy. I had Jasmine Green Tea with soy milk, strawberry flavoring, and mango pearls. It was very tasty. I'd definitely try it again. My other friends got black tea with coffee flavor and tapioca pearls/coffee jelly. The former was good, but strong. The latter was not as great, ironically. I would say that the prices are about what you would expect to pay. It's definitely a worthwhile treat. Definitely an indulgence for me, and not the everyday kind of drink. Service was very helpful and pretty quick, but (once again) make sure you ask about the menu before you choose something to regret later. I sat down on the couch which had an outlet next to it, and the area was really big and comfortable with lots of seating. The tea was very milk-heavy and the tea flavor didn't come through, wasn't bold. The matcha boba was very rubbery and it was not good at all; I didn't eat any of them. They also had no matcha flavor, and I really wonder what materials were made to make them. They honestly tasted like rubber. I also picked up a slice of banana bread on the way out, and I ate it about 36 hours after I got it. It was moist and quite tasty, but the edges were really wet, I'm not sure why. Super friendly staff, good tea, etc. But you can only go into a place with an open hole in the ceiling and black mold for so long before you start really wondering about the sanitation. The size is quite large so you get your money's worth (I paid $5 + tip if I remember correctly). I will say that it was really sweet so I would recommend 50% sugar unless you prefer the very sweet option. The staff was nice, and the wait was very short. When I have a boba drink that isn't good, I normally give the shop a second chance and try out different tea with different configuration. My friend and I came here on a rainy evening on sleepy Sunday. There were about 8 people in the shop when we arrived. She ordered the Honey Jasmine Tea and I ordered their signature Royal Milk Honey Bubble Tea with boba and aloe vera jelly. The tea was alright, not unlike most other royal tea I've had; the tapioca wasn't really sweet at all, which didn't bother me that much although I think people in general might like it if they were at least a little more syrupy in a sense, not that the tea wasn't sweet enough on its own. I wouldn't normally mind mediocre service in a bubble tea shop like this one but the people manning the counter seemed aggressively preoccupied in loudly conversing about their relationship issues, to the point where they left me standing at the register like a full minute before they let me order. It was kind of off-putting and they continued loudly talking to each other while making drinks for a couple that came in after me, who also seemed a little taken aback by their attitude. I don't know, it seemed like a cool place and I hate to be nit-picky about it but the way the employees came off kinda ruined the atmosphere for me. Might have given it 4-5 if it had felt a little nicer; it seems like whoever runs the whole thing does care about it but for me it just wasn't a very fun time and the tea was just alright so I wouldn't go back personally. Honey Bubble is by far the coziest bubble tea shop in the Midtown area, a great place to lounge around, catch up with friends, read a book, or do work. I went to Honey Bubble on a hot Saturday afternoon, and as I walked in, I could tell that this place would be very good to sit down and have a drink by yourself or with someone. The boba felt chewier and harder to break down than regular boba, and the boba was not sweet at all. The tea itself felt very average. The tea was not very sweet, but did not have a tea flavor. Which to some people is the perfect combination, but for me I personally think that a milk tea should have either a sweet flavor or a tea flavor. Not having a distinct flavor kind of ruins it for me. To improve the experience of the tea, I think adding the option for less/more ice and being able to change the sweetness levels like many other tea places is very important. Personally I find this tea spot to be unique. This is more of a true tea connoisseurs dream as they have a very large variety of authentic teas and many of which I have not tasted before (I only drink tea). For me personally, I have been going away from sweet drinks and usually drink my tea plain or with slight amounts of sugar. So this place is the perfect tea location for me. None of the artisan teas come with much sugar. For a normal customer this may be concerning. While they still offer milk teas, I would not necessarily recommend them here because you can get better milk teas from other places near by that will taste better. So let this be a warning. If you don't drink artisan teas and look for freshly brewed varieties, then this might not be the tea place for you. For most of the area, there's probably not much competition in the bubble tea / boba tea game. Which unfortunately for us the consumer, I feel like it's a take it or leave it option. I think I probably would leave it for Honey Bubble. On a slow Friday night, I tried the original royal milk tea. It itself was pretty good, though I wish they had the options or provided me with some regarding ice and sweetness level. What was disappointing was the boba. The texture was quite... soggy. No kind of chew was present and there wasn't much taste either I feel. There's plenty of parking on the side street as most of the parking lot was filled but I believe that they were to go orders because after walking to the front, most of the lot was vacant. DOH! Visited Honey Bubble after 5 pm on a weekday for an afternoon bubble tea fix, and hoped Honey Bubble would deliver. Not knowing what Honey Bubble was about, I went for their signature Royal Milk Honey Bubble Tea medium size ($4), which they gave free samples of if you asked, and not bad! The actual tea had a nice flavor, similar to other competitors i've tried, although the tapioca pearls kinda clumped together, making a bubble train stuck in my straw, but they were soft and seemed fresh. Honey Bubble also has a loyalty card where if you buy 9 drinks, your 10th is free. If I ended things here, Honey bubble would easily get 4 stars out of me, but I had to get the Macaroons didn't I? I ordered two macaroons, one pistachio and the other vanilla flavored. The pistachio was really good, slightly crunchy outside and kinda smooth gooey inside, but the vanilla flavor was a little off. I liked the Pistachio better. The problem with the macaroons for me was the price, and while I did notice that all their edibles had prices next to them with the exception of the Macaroons, it kinda shocked me that a medium bubble tea and two macaroons cost me $11. Wait, so one single macaroon costs 3 bucks??? Geez It's the only way I can explain my bill (yea, I should've asked at the register) The interior of Honey bubble is really nice, cozy, with a decent amount of plush chairs/couches to sit and chill. Honey Bubble? What's a honey bubble? Well, let me tell you. The atmosphere: A quaint little tea house with plush couches, arm chairs and 2+4 tops set up. Well lit, bright, and airy. The folks: Students sitting with laptops, someone reading a book, a couple canoodling on the couch... Everyone just hanging peacefully. The menu: bubble tea, egg creams, Italian sodas, macarons, cookies, snow capped tea and other treats. Bubble Tea breakdown: Bubble tea is basically a cold tea beverage that contains little floating pieces of aloe or tapioca. They are soft like jello and flavorless for the most part and may feel weird in your mouth if it is the first time you've ever had it. But after a while they are addicting! 1) You get to choose from green tea or black tea base. 2) Choose your flavor. There is a whole list to choose from. Some have milk, some don't. 3) Choose your extras, tapioca or aloe, or none. Recommended: Green tea/ Raspberry/ with both aloe and tapioca. ( The aloe soaks up the raspberry flavor for a refreshing and fruity treat) Lime Basil macarons. (light, airy, delicate) The little sweet/salty crackers by the register. (yum!) *Warning* If you are petite or just sensitive to caffeine, I would opt out. I loved this place and I loved the tea, but I had such a bad case of the jitters afterwards due to the caffeine,and I drink green tea regularly so I don't know what happened. This stuff was STRONG. Now that I have been to Honey Bubble a handful of times, I think it's safe to say that I can provide a fair assessment on this little boba shop in the city. Initially, I was turned off after seeing the tiny lot out front which is very cramped and has maybe 10 parking spots. Fortunately, I quickly learned that you may park behind the building (which most people think is off limits or reserved for the Chinese restaurant next door). I am NOT a street parking kind of gal (the thought of having to parallel park give me the chills), so this is great for me. Most recently, I went with a group of fellow Yelpers around 10:30 pm on a Saturday evening. Since the shop closes at 11 pm, we were cutting it close but still wanted our post-dinner boba fix in Atlanta. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with the warmth of the heater and a strong aroma of tea. Perhaps the heat enhanced and emanated the tea scent since I had not experienced this during my prior visits. The back wall displays the shop's menu, and various other items for sale such as macarons from Alon's, cupcakes from Highland Bakery, gelato from Honeysuckle Gelato, and tea-related items are in plain sight at and by the counter. As other reviewers have stated, Honey Bubble's prices for bubble tea are significantly higher than those of popular boba shops like Quickly and Sweet Hut. Including tax, a medium drink at Honey Bubble will set you back $4 and a large drink costs $5 while the same-sized drinks at the other boba shops would cost about $2.50 and $3.50, respectively. However, from what I have read and heard, Honey Bubble's teas are of higher quality and supposed to be made-to-order. I usually order the Signature Royal Milk Honey Bubble Tea with "bubbles," also known as boba, which are tapioca balls. The Royal Milk tea is a black milk tea, and the bubbles are cooked with honey as its sweetener. Although I have also tried the Honey Jasmine Milk Tea with bubbles, which was a decent version of my second favorite flavor of milk tea (my favorite is black milk tea), Honey Bubble's signature drink is better. It's slightly sweet - and you can ask for it to be sweeter (more honey) if you'd like. Having been to Honey Bubble multiple times, I have to note two things about the bubbles that I don't like as much as those of my favorite boba shop - Quickly: 1. The bubbles seem to have the right texture (in terms of chewiness) - not too hard and not too soft - but I wish they were sweeter. 2. The barista puts a very small amount of bubbles per cup. My friends agreed. Finally, I should point out that there is a semi-private room in the back (to your right when you enter the store) with a chalk board to doodle on if you're bored or perhaps want to play Pictionary with your friends, which is pretty cool. The employees also did not kick out our group at 11 pm on the dot, which was also nice and considerate (we left shortly afterwards!). Overall, Honey Bubble gets 3.5 stars as they are better than "okay" but not quite 4 stars in my opinion. If you're a boba fan and are accustomed to having your drinks made "quickly" after you have ordered and paid, you may be a bit disappointed if you have to wait a little while - sometimes up to 10 minutes or so depending on how busy the shop is when you arrive. Just be aware of this, apparently because the drinks are supposed to be made to order. It's not just another boba place. They don't even sell pastries. Unless they are macaron's from Alon's Bakery. Wait, are macarons pastries? Whatever, they're both sweets. They have lots of options drink-wise at Honey Bubble. You choose a flavor tea, a type of milk (Soy, Lactaid-free, and one other choice), and you choose what toppings you would like. And bam! Your drink is awesome. That only covers their milk teas though. They have smoothies, slushies, coffee, a couple of unique lattees like red velvet, and lots of different flavors to add to green tea as well. They also have gelato and free ice caps which are like snow bowl cones when you use your scoutmob. We tried the chocolate banana flavor which was awesome. This is also a fun place to hangout. They play chill, ambient music. It's easy to study. They have lots of outlets. And lots of cool diverse people hanging out there from hipsters to nerds to businessmen. The best Boba tea place in Atlanta. And that's only because they have lactose-free options. I will give an extra star for boba tea places that offer that. Unfortunately, not all of their milk teas can be lactose free. Their Signature Royal Milk Tea and Thai tea are already pre-made with milk. Other than those, the others can be made without milk. For you lactose intolerant people, you can get it with Lactaid milk or soy milk. The whole atmosphere doesn't look cutsey at all. Instead, it blends in with the rest of the neighborhood by looking hip, cold, grungy, industrial, and trendy. I liked that. It differentiates them from all the cutesy and warm Asian places in Buford Hwy and Duluth. I guess it would make sense since they are located where all the "cool" people hang out--the ITP. Inside, they have a room with a giant chalkboard where you can draw on. That's pretty cool. But I wish they had some erasers. If you don't see chalk, just ask the staff for some. Hopefully, my portraits of some of the Yelpers I was with will still be up there. They don't have loud, fobby, Chinese chicks working there. All the staff look like calm, stoned out hipsters. They're pretty cool and chill during my brief interaction with them. Their boba tea tastes good as any other boba tea you would drink. When you pick your drink, you can choose between green and black tea. You can also have the option to put in bobas or coffee jellies in it. Besides boba tea, they have other dessert items such as Macarons, Gelatos, and various pastries. Some of their stuff are from Alon's down the street. One of their Gelato flavor is green tea. I didn't try it, but it should be amazing since 99% of all green-tea flavored frozen treats taste awesome. Their only weakness is their small parking space. But never fear. Go into Bonaventure Ave behind China Dragon, and there is a parking space to park in. So now, you have no excuse not to come here. read more
