I was originally referred to 4 Girvins by the owners of Everoak Farm and started ordering their eggs, meat & produce. It's so easy to order online and have it delivered to my doorstep! But now the convenience is even better because I can stop by the farm store on any day that I need to grab a few items. It has also helped introduce me to other items they sell - like their sourdough cinnamon sugar bagels, Musgrove dairy butter, and 2nd Breakfast mangoes! It's nice to see the different cuts of meat - from chicken, to pork and beef - and knowing they are all locally raised using the best farming practices. This past week I picked up a large whole chicken for $34, a flat of eggs for $18, various herbs like sage, thyme & rosemary for $2 each. The prices match the quality and the investment you are making in your health, the environment, and your local economy. For me, it's a worthy investment. I frequent the Audubon Community Market on Mondays and if you're a fan of that market, you'll love this farm store! It's located right next to Kelly's ice cream and Chiffon Culture bakery - both wonderful local businesses - sharing the shopping plaza with other gems like The Owl's Attic and Coro. If you haven't been to this neighborhood, consider this your sign! Across the street is East End Market, the birthplace of this booming local scene. 4 Girvins placed themselves in the perfect location and so now it is our job to shop local and support our local farmers!

They featured local farm eggs, produce, poultry & beef, bread, flowers, honey, and even a couple of candles! I would recommend stopping by to grab some local tomatoes and kale for a special salad. I appreciated that they had bread because I had just run out! They had a sweet sourdough and garlic & herb variety in stock. I will say that it was pricey... $18 for a loaf means this will be a special treat, but not necessary a weekly loaf. With that said, if you miss the Monday Audubon Farmer's Market and are in a pinch- they've got some essentials covered. I hope they keep increasing their produce offerings as it was still somewhat limited, but could see them featuring fruit, more veggies, and gourds in the future -fingers crossed- Overall, a great little shop and love supporting a local farm! Once it got less crowded, we went to the vegetables area and got what we needed. However, I noticed some signs warning customers not to sample anything. Honestly, if kids want a small piece of fruit, go to Publix where some stores offer the kids to take a free fruit. The meats area was pretty nice and they had a good amount of chicken, beef, and lamb/goat pieces. They can get pretty pricey though. In fact, many groceries were quite expensive. That's why I avoided buying some of my favorite Indian dinners in the frozen food session. Even though the store looked clean and maintained, it looked pretty sterile. While there were some TVs showing Bollywood, there were no audio. Mostly families talking to each other and kids as well. And it looks like the kids can get rambunctious over there as there were signs warning parents to control their kids and the "you break, you buy" signs as well. Staff were friendly enough though. The store is in a building that also has a food court, and even a lighting store. There are even other restaurants located in the strip too. While I like Apna Bazaar for their meats (especially lamb), it's pretty pricey and mundane compared to other places. I think Patel Brothers and House of Spices provides a better experience at even lower prices. But at least you can get good meats and enjoy some non veg cuisine at the food court too. Overall: C+

I inquired about a few products, the bcaa price was in the right ballpark, another supplement was quoted at almost double the price (it's a brand I'm familiar with and a product I've purchased many times from several different sources). The shop looked unorganized and not very inviting, but the guy behind the counter said he'd just taken over the place, so hopefully it's just in the process of being put together. I'll hold off final judgment and stop by again in a month or so once the new management has had time to get settled.

They were selling green bell peppers for forty-nine cents a pound, which is a great deal. However, these peppers looked a bit old and were at the end of their life expectancy. They also had a meat market, but I did not get over to check it out as I was working that day and had a full day ahead of me and there was no way the meat products would survive in my car that long. They do also have a few aisles of grocery items and I was very happy to find that they carried the Puerto Rican hot sauce called Mi Madre Pique, which I discovered on a business trip to Puerto Rico and have since been a huge fan. I picked up a few bottles, one for myself and one for my son. Each bottle was a bit over five dollars, which is I guess a competitive price and a cheaper option than flying to Puerto Rico to pick up a few more bottles. It is very conveniently located, being basically on the corner of John Young Parkway and Vine Street. It is not a bad place to check out and has great prices, but as I have mentioned before, you do get what you are paying for. I guess three stars is a fair rating. Good prices, but the produce should be more fresh. By all means, go check it out. Just don't get carried away and buy something just because it was cheap just to throw it out in a day or two because it rotted.

There were two clearly marked sections--one for seedless and one for seeded--and the gentleman working there even picked out a watermelon for me from the seeded section. I paid over $18 for it, which I considered high, but I didn't mind at the time because I trusted I was getting what I asked for. However, after driving 45 minutes home and cutting into the watermelon, I discovered it was seedless. I wasn't angry, but I felt it was important to call and let the store know about the mix-up as a courtesy. Unfortunately, the response I received was dismissive and unprofessional: "What do you want me to do about it?" That response was more frustrating than the mistake itself. It made me feel like my concern as a customer didn't matter. I've supported this place regularly, but after this experience and the lack of accountability or care shown, I'll simply take my business elsewhere. Customer service matters--especially when mistakes happen. A little understanding and respect go a long way.
