I don't get what everyone is raving about. The menu was odd and left us struggling to find choices to share as it is a tapas restaurant. We started with the 3 cheese cheese plate and the blue cheese with the walnuts was excellent. The other two cheeses were ok and really only made edible by the toppings that came with the plate. The truffle and smoke potato chips were fine, not much flavor there. They taste like home made chips. We then moved on to the Farro salad. Again-fine but no flavors popped off the plate and the deep fried egg in the middle of the plate is unappealing. Then to the Kampachi Tacos which were cold and flavorless. The risotto cakes say "fried" on the menu and they should say "deep fried". The mozzarella that comes with it is not marinated (that I could tell) and the flavor of the risotto was fine but the deep fried taste was overwhelming. The Jersey scallops were sandy. The beef tenderloin dish was good, (although there was no veal sausage on the plate as the menu says there should be), but at $30 for a tapas sized plate - outrageously over priced. I wanted to like this restaurant and many of our friends and neighbors rave about it but we did not find the menu appealing. We won't be back. read more

Did I eat at a separate restaurant from everyone else that has posted here? I must have. Sure, the atmosphere was nice and the setting intimate, but the food was underwhelming and weird to put it nicely and simply bad to be blunt. Could the popcorn have been the best thing we had all night? The king crab was okay. The foie was decent but when I cut the slider in half a table spoon of oil dripped out. Foie is already rich, how much oil did you use to cook it? The pork belly? Ha. It probably amounted to one ounce of pork belly that was cut into a few cubes. Disappointing. Octupus, again, it was cut into a few cubes. The Short Rib was a joke. Our waitress said she would recommend that over the ribs. The short rib came out in a puck form, about half the thickness of a hockey puck. It was fried (?) on the outside and coated with hot sauce. Once we broke the fried barrier, the beat ate like pulled pork that had no flavor. I passed on dessert, fearing that they would butcher that too. Will NOT be back. read more

Took my honey (sorry, couldn't resist) here a few weeks ago for her birthday. We've been there several times, and rarely have we been disappointed. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. And, we really enjoy eating at small plates restaurants, so this fits the bill nicely. One thing we have noticed since we first started going here a couple of years ago is that the prices are steadily rising, to the point where some of the small plates are carrying entree style prices, which wouldn't be so bad if you were only getting one dish. That being said, from beginning to end, the meal we had was fantastic. And, I have to say - the Angry Fries (with oxtail gravy) is one of the best things I've ever had. Honey has been my favorite restaurant since it first opened and I realized that it was about time that I wrote a review. At every visit there are numerous new dishes to try and with every visit we have new favorites! We also enjoy the ambience as it is cozy and hip. During our last visit we started with Truffle and Smoke Potato Chips. These were honestly the best potato chips I have ever tasted! Other new dishes we tried included the delicious B.e.L.T. and the amazing Oyster "Po' Boys". The B.e.L.T. was a creative take on the old classic B.L.T using crispy pork belly for the "B", arugula sprouts for the "L" and a spicy tomato jam for the "T". The chef added an additional twist by adding a fried quail egg for the little "e". The tomato jam complemented the pork belly beautifully! The oysters in the Po' Boys were perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful on a baguette toast. For dessert I ordered the Peanut Butter Strudel which was so good that I closed my eyes to enjoy this sinful treat. Needless to say, our meal was delicious and our entire dining experience was wonderful, as it is every time. The staff is always friendly and were especially helpful when I dined during my pregnancy. We drive all the way from Center City to enjoy Honey and I encourage anyone near the Doylestown or Philadelphia area to try Honey and fall in love as we have with this rare suburban jem. read more

This restaurant is an experience like no other! The food is out of this world! You're not eating food, you're eating art!

Simply put one of the best experiences We have ever had dining out. The room has a swanky, downtown city feel but none of the pretentiousness that sometimes comes with high end dining. The cheese plate, homemade truffle potato chips and mushroom quesadillas all were sublime and precursors to a phenomenal mushroom soup, the shooters just aren't enough, we ordered a whole bowl. The main dishes of black tea glazed spare ribs with homemade spicy ginger ice cream..( try it it's not as crazy as it sounds) and a stellar B.E.L.T dish were perfect endpoints to our meal. Our server,Jason, not only checked in on us and never left us wanting for anything but his knowledge of the menu and flavor profiles made sure our choices complemented each other. Very Creative Food. The chef loves to do (relatively) small dishes with interesting combinations of flavors, textures, and temperatures. My only regret is that I live on the West Coast and cannot visit this restaurant once a month. I really fell for the fois gras sliders, which were fabulous, although the other choices I made were almost as good. If you get Jacob as your waiter, you are in luck; he makes each dish come alive. Wow, what an amazing experience we had celebrating our anniversary at Honey! If there were more than 5 stars, I'd give it to this gem in Doylsetown. We showed up a little early but were seated immediately. Our waiter, Jared, offered great suggestions but was not obtrusive at all. Food was delivered in perfect intervals and the tapas sized plates were perfect. We shared the following in the order we received: - fire & ice - chilled Alaskan King Crab, could have settled for 5/6 orders of this one alone, it was that amazing!!! - truffle & smoke potato chips, very very good! - risotto cakes & oxtail dumplings served together, fabulous!!! - pan roasted branzino, the brussels and bacon was a perfect complement. - octopus, sauce was fabulous, not my wife's thing though. - signature black tea glazed spare ribs, never thought a spicy ginger ice cream would work but it was simply incredible!!! Could have had another order or two of that no problem!!! Saved the best for last. - ended with the pumpkin ice cream for dessert that Jared comp'd for our anniversary. Outstanding!! My wife and I are huge foodies. We went here because of the great reviews and reputation. While the ingredients were fresh and of hi quality, the dishes we chose just did not meet our expectations. For example a dish featuring pork belly as a prime ingredient, one might have expected pork belly to be a main feature. Instead it was basically a nice toast point with frizze salad topped with sprinkles of what might otherwise be called bacon bits. The food, service and atmosphere are great. This was our second visit. The first time we were taken with the overall experience. I can't say that anything changed, I just looked at it with a more critical eye. One of the people in our party did not eat seafood or pork, which really limited the menu choices. Also, the prices seem to have inched up a little bit on each dish. Normally this is not a big deal but since each person normally orders 3-4 dishes it adds up. This was our first dining time at Honey. It was recommended by some friend and sounded like a dining experience that we would enjoy! From our initial greeting by the pleasant hostess, this place was phenomenal! Our server, Jason was witty, knowledgeable and attentive. The other wait staff we encountered were courteous and polite. Very sadly I did not have that wow experience that others did. I would give 5 stars for the service (Chris). 4 Stars for the drinks. And 2 stars for the food, meaning I would not come back for the food. Unfortunately we started with oysters which were past their prime...and the rest of the meal never recovered. Maybe we ordered wrong but our 6 dishes just weren't good. The oysters, even if they had been fresher, were drizzled with a thick syrup...never a good sign. Many of the dishes had a fried element and truth be told I think their frying oil was either old or not hot enough (we were the first seating). Mushroom quesadilla was just that...and it was greasy (note.. the Crema on top of it was gray.) Oxtail dumplings...Pretty good I suppose, but had a teaspoon of stuffing in each and was also fried. Fried fatty meats drizzled with a thick syrup is just not balanced, at all. Had a special of Mac and Cheek. Again, they took nice gelatinous cheek meat and coated it and fried it. Tasted greasy and off-putting. Lastly the Cioppino...decent, yet again had a fried rice cake in it that was greasy. (Note, I actually like fried foods but the oil has to be just right when serving it like this). Maybe for the suburbs it all makes sense...but if you are used to city restaurants I would way dial back your expectations. read more

The staff is very customer focused, the food is fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, just enough of each course to split between 2 people. For two adults, we share 5-6 items plus a dessert. My wife and I had a great meal here last week for our anniversary. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and unique so we went with a couple plates that our server, Jason, recommended. That was the right decision, Jason's suggestions were spot on! Not only was every plate delicious, the timing and order at which they arrived at our table was prefect, and each one complemented the others. The chef even sent out a couple complimentary samples of plates we had not ordered because they knew it was out anniversary. Top to bottom - the food, ambiance, staff, ownership, creativity, etc was all on point. We took our parents here for a pre-Mother's Day celebration. We could not have been more pleased. The menu selections are really fantastic and quite varied. The menu presentation carries from the lighter fare (top) to the more substantial fare (bottom). The food was only made better by the wait-staff. The entire restaurant staff worked as a team to ensure that there was never a wait from kitchen to table. Our primary server was a joy and made the evening all the more enjoyable. Lastly, the restaurant atmosphere was very nice, modern and subtle lighting. I was in town for business and took a close lady friend. It was a weeknight so the place wasn't crowded. I've dined at great restaurants around the country and have to say that this was easily one of the best. It's quiet and intimate, the service is attentive without being in your face, and the food is amazing. We shared the potato chips, risotto cakes, shrimp martini, catfish banh mi, ribs and finished with the flourless chocolate cake. It's not cheap, but it's more than worth it for the experience. This place was amazing! My husband and I had this place on our list to try for a few months and finally had the opportunity last night. First off, I would recommend reservations. My husband and I did just walk in and were seated, but we were lucky. The waiter recommended 2-3 small plates per person, and we found that 2 plates were perfect. The meal started off with a delicious shooter of complimentary soup and truffle oil popcorn. They were both delicious! We ordered the mango tea (the best I've ever had), and my husband had the pomegranate ginger ale (he loved his as well). For our meal, we had: Truffle & Smoke Potato Chips, Edamame Hummus, Veal Cheek Carnitas and Shrimp & Grits. Each plate had a delicious and unique blending of flavors. We also had the chocolate trio for dessert, which was heavenly, especially the brownie! My husband and I have traveled and lived all over the world and this type of food and restaurant is a first. It is not for the less adventurous palate. Everything was amazing! Also, make sure you have at least an hour to eat here as each plate comes out one at a time. 2nd time at this great eatery for me and the misses. First we selected a few cheeses on the cheese plate. I think there were 6 different to choose from. We picked all the even #'s for some reason. At first we thought the amount if cheese was not enough but it was a nice start as it came with all these other items paired with the cheeses. The raw oysters were so good wish they came with more. The fire and ice is a favorite so had to get that. Then we tried the Branzino, nice and finished off with the ribs. I am not sure how they get them to taste so good? I could just eat a rack of them by itself if they came that way. Sangria washed it all down and I would say we were quite full. At first the plates looks small but after you share a few, it really is plenty. Including a couple deserts and the bill is about 135.00.
