Stopped in the other day for a glass of wine and the Hummus Butter Board. It was nice to. hear that Alan, who wwe thought retired, is coming back soon. So after going back and forth between picking a fancy dinner place and just heading back home after a heavy set of appetizers at the previous place, we figured we'd head to the wine cellar and have some tapas. The wine was good. These guys had Athletic NA beer vs the hinneken beer that everyone carries. Truffle fries - a bit too oily but a solid 4/5 Humus plate - wow. It's amazing what they can do with humus. See the photos to truly understand it. We had someone from our group say they're going to serve humus only like this at home to their guests. They serve desserts from Chez Alice, can't go wrong there. We had the chocolate kisses and strawberry wishes; one of the folks had a bit of an O mement :). My boyfriend and I stopped in the Wine Cellar yesterday to have a couple of drinks. We sat at one of the hightops at the bar and waited until someone would come over to get our order. After 10 minutes, my boyfriend went to the bar to order as we figured the bartender was busy, He stood there for a couple of minutes as was totally ignored as other patrons who sat down after he approached the bar were served. After she finally asked hm, he put in his order and she only came with one drink. Once again he waited for the second drink while she proceeded to serve other customers. He finally had to ask her for the drink, when she replied, "Oh I guess I forgot". No apology....nothing. As we were at table having our drinks, the same bartender came around to all the other tables to clean the tables and ask the customers if they needed another drink. All the tables except ours. We were looking to order another round however we were never given the chance.This was the worst example of customer service, we ever experienced in a restaurant business. This is not a reflection of the actual establishment but rather the quality of bartenders they hire. Will never spend our money there again. read more

The food was delicious. We had some tapas. The escargot was in a tasty sauce. The lobster bisque was delightful. Being seated outside was so pleasant to see the beautiful flowers & watch people fishing in a stream next to this awesome restaurant. The wait staff were attentive & pleasant. We came here for our son because he was big fan of trains. I have to say the place inside was very nice! Service was incredibly! We had great time here! Shrimp and scallops was my top pick! It was a little busier than normal (Sunday afternoon) but really disappointing service and food - ordered the bread basket and every slice was stale, nachos with smoked mushrooms, delivered without the mushrooms and then told they didn't have any (only told after the food was served...so no option to change), turkey panini was bland and the fries with the burger were cold.... 4 items ordered 4 items really not good. I know they can do better ( been there previously so we know they can) but today was a bad day. read more

This place is the perfect intimate space for drinks and food with a friend or lover. The bar area offers tables and bar stools, while the downstairs has swanky chairs and tables. If you love wine and great hearty food, you must stop in here if in Lambertville. Both times I have been there, I have enjoyed the crab and lobster bisque. The presentation is impressive and the flavor is lustful! We have also enjoyed the lamb chops which are cooked to perfection. Last week we enjoyed the special which was a generous portion of short ribs accompanied with mashed potatoes and green beans. The sauce was a beautiful burgundy, perfectly balanced. Omg, love this place! Our first time there and am so glad we went. Started with lobster & crab bisque (which has huge chunks of lobster and crab meat...not remnants lol ) and lamb chops with mint jelly. For our meal we had the Shrimp Scallop over Lobster Risotto. O..Emmmm...Geeee that was delicious and now my most favorite dish. So creamy and full of flavor. Had to order bread so I can soak up all the sauce on the plate. Finished up our meal with a delicious crème Brulee. Will be going back again...very soon! read more

When Yelp reminded me to write a review, I couldn't believe I hadn't written one already. If you love wine and cozy, you must go here. It's located downstairs at the Lambertville Inn Restaurant. It's all comfy chairs, fireplaces, and couches. They have a limited food menu and a wonderful wine list for for all tastes and budgets. The place fills up fast. We stopped in at 4pm on a Saturday and the place was packed. We went across the street for a drink and popped back in and luckily we found some great seats by the fireplace. The servers are very knowledgeable on wine and can make a great recommendation if needed. Joe, is wonderful and can tell fantastic stories about the Inn. read more

The arrogance of this place is something difficult to swallow. As a regular i am taken back by the staffs inability to provide true service or even just being polite. We frequently visit the Wine Cellar and recently noticed a change when the attitudes became worse than my own. Tonight we joined the room after dinner with just a couple of sips remaining and literally where told that we would not be seated if they where any busier and proceeded to insult my wife and party. Ultimately, we left. With a bad taste and literally. It's not about the product. It's about the atmosphere and positive vibes a server can create for his or her space. Absolutely one of my all-time favorite places to spend a cold fall and winter evenings. My husband and I have taken more friends that we care to admit to our "favorite little wine bar" in New Jersey for some of the best nights! This place is absolute perfection. I often describe this as "your grandmothers old house in the Poconos" - it's full of mismatched overstuffed arm chairs and love seats, beautiful old silver serving trays, a fireplace, and rustic walls/ceilings for a true escape from the daily hubbub. As you walk down the stairs, you take in the stone walls with original exposed beam work from the 1800's, it's magnificent. It's not a secret that you come here for the wine. We've never had a meal here, but we ALWAYS get a delicious cheese to gobble down with our drinks (more on that in a minute). There are plenty of flights to choose from, it seems they change seasonally. Most recently they had 10 flights being offered in their Wine Cellar Flight Program (3 2-oz pours); they are: Cool and Crips Chardonnays, Unconventional White Wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Unique Rieslings, French Connection, Beyond Big & Bold, Big, Bold Cabernet Sauvignons, A little bit of Spice, Pinot Noir, and Dall Italia Coh Amore. They boast more than 50 unique boutique wines - served by the bottle or glass. If you don't know what you want, their sommelier's recommendations are ALWAYS spot on. The Flight Program is a great way to get a taste of a few if you can't decide, which I definitely had a problem for the first couple times we came here. My all time favorite wine is a Beau-Rivage from Bordeaux, (which I discovered in their French Connection Flight!), and I haven't been able to order anything else since finding this. The price point is pretty good, this specific one is $7.50 for a 6-oz glass, $12.50 for a 10-oz (which, I mayyybee order?), or $28 for the bottle. SO good. Okay, so food; or more specifically, cheese. Order the Il Truffilino cheese. Don't second guess, or hesitate, or even look at the menu - just do it. It's a tad bit pricy, but worth every damn cent. "Cheese, really?" You say - YES. This unbelievably delectable goodness is a classic English cheddar peppered with bits of black summer truffles throughout. It's creamy and earthy, the truffle is LOUD and hits you as soon as you take a bite, yet the cheddar gives you that lasting creamy impression that leaves you wanting more (and more, and more...). It's served with a piece of dried apricot, dried pear, and dried papaya, and local honey - but the best part is the bread (well, second best, the cheese is the best). It's soft fluffy white bread, with just a hint of a crust - so fresh, and it's gone before you know it. Thank goodness the waitstaff never have a problem bringing us more when we ask! Obviously, I love food - all types and flavors and variations; but I'm going to make a really bold statement here - THIS is the best cheese in the world. THE BEST. Try it, and I dare you to DM me if I'm wrong. We've been here at least 10 times, and ALWAYS have the same waiter, Alan. He's a legend here, and as integral to our experience as the wine we drink. Sure, he tells us the same story each time we're there; the one about how he never drinks water, and has glass of whiskey every day at the end of the night for 30 years, and his relationship with his wife. We know his allergies (any nuts, for the record) but he's friendly, prompt, and works the room like a pro. **If you're coming on a Saturday night, either get there early or be prepared to wait. Most recently, we showed up on a perfectly crisp fall evening around 7:15 (whoops), and had a 45 minute wait. The atmosphere is perfect. Very comfortable and relaxed. Good wine selection and flights. The only negative was the Cellar Tater Tot appetizer. We were expecting actual trademarked Tater Tots made in a different creative style. Instead, the were more like battered and deep fried mashed potato balls. Not horrible but not as expected. I was just insulted by one of the gentleman working insinuating that I was not good enough to sit down there. Not thrilled. I will not be going back down there. The descriptions of the wine flights were handed to us. This helped us "beginner" wine tasters enjoy the tastes properly. For food we got burrata, cellar potatoes and Margherita flatbread. Let me tell you the cellar potatoes are a show stopper. I will be thinking about them for days to come. Very low key on the menu, but comes drenched in the most delicious Gouda sauce with bacon I have ever tasted. My boyfriend said he would drizzle the cheese sauce over breakfast, lunch and dinner. Flat bread was okay. Burrata small portion but delicious. Such a cute spot! Perfect for a date or just hanging out with friends. The place has a very romantic vibe and has a good amount of seating with a fireplace you can cozy up to. Came here for some bites and wine - ordered a glass of cab, the rustic flatbread, and the brussel sprouts. I was extremely happy with the 10oz pour of wine, seemed like it was a lot more. The flatbread was decent, but the brussel sprouts were way too sweet and saucy even though I asked for "light sauce". Definitely more of a place to come to for drinks and the atmosphere. My boyfriend and I were enjoying a lovely evening walk from across the river when we stumbled on this gem. The ambiance of the wine cellar was quaint and romantic. We tried the Cheddar Tasting that had Canadian white cheddar, Il Truffilino English cheddar, and New Zealand grass fed cheddar. The different cheddar samples were all creamy and delicious. The platter was accompanied with dried apricots, pears, and papaya. It also had some warm white bread, homemade jam, and truffle honey. We loved the honey so much that we asked them for a small serving to-go. They also have a large wine selection to pair with your food. I prefer sweet wine, so we got the Moscato. It was easy to drink and went well the truffle cheese. If you're looking for a quiet and romantic evening to spend somewhere, then this is the place for you. read more

Great outside atmosphere, dog friendly (we didn't have a dog) and friendly staff in general. After a short 20 minute wait we were seated outside facing the canal and a nice garden. They had both bloody-mary and mimosa specials. Large size for $11 .They had a full brunch menu and the regular lunch options. Both with many options that would satisfy most. I had eggs Benedict my partner had grilled tuna, both were very good.. we also shared a side of fries also better than I expected. The seating probably should and can be arranged a bit differently with a little higher "coffee table" next to the individual loungey chairs, so I'm not kicking the whole thing and spilling on their carpets.
