Mel is a wonderful nail technician. Her work is excellent. She was my nail tech for 9 months. I needed a mobile tech because of health issues and had a husband convalescing from open heart surgery. I was very kind to Mel and treated her like a friend but of course in a professional manner. Unfortunately my husband, who also uses her for pedicures every so often, developed dementia as a result of his heart. There were a few incidents where I had to correct my husband and one day Melissa told me that she had to leave because she felt uncomfortable, then drop me as her client. When you do house calls, life continues in that home. Babies cry, kids run around, husbands yell and dogs bark etc... I thought she completely overreacted because she wanted to leave to get a Christmas tree, I would have completely told her go and finish my pedicure another day. She did not do my pedi - just changed my color. I grew to care for Mel as a person, and was so sad that she choose to drop me, even after I said that if being around my husband and I together, we can continue next door at my cousins house who is not home during the day. Hi there Yelpers! So this was my 3rd appointment with Honeybee Nails by Mel and she didn't disappoint. For starters, she's pleasant which helps because it was in at-home service. She also does a great job with shaping nails. I wear my natural nails and am always hesitant to let nail techs shape them. Hesitant for fear they're not going to do it how I like and will be stuck with a short nail shape I don't care for. Secondly, she did a " dry manicure " by that I mean she didn't soak my nails which is what I'm accustomed to. I took her advice on going the dry manicure route because she mentioned it left cuticles really nice and helped reduce hangnails. The end result was extremely clean cuticles, which I loved I mean that makes the manicure. She also used a scrub on my hands which was a nice treat. Lastly, the nail design when I originally sent Mel the image of the nails I wanted which I found on IG. I thought the design was a sticker which to my surprise she confirmed it wasn't. When she told me she was going to do the freehand design I didn't know what to expect. I was fine with just changing the nail design and getting sticker art. She reassured me she could do it and that it wouldn't take an excessive amount of time. She nailed it my nails look dope. read more
