Stopped for a quick bite as we were leaving the airport. When we entered, the cashier was speaking with a customer. He must have been a local regular by their banter. While somewhat amusing, it wasn't an ideal welcome as we waited over 5 minutes to view a menu and be attended to. The menu is limited to daily options. There are a few items available daily. I got the fried pork chop with 3 sides. It didn't look immediately appetizing but the pork chop was soooooo good! I wish I would have gotten another one bc it was so tender but crisp. Definitely surprised me. The potato salad had a nice touch of pickle or relish? Over all, delicious meal. The almond cake was really good too! I really enjoyed eating here. I've had it for lunch twice now. For the prices you cannot beat it, the portions are perfect!!!! I can never just get one plate, so far my favorite has been the rib tips and the stewed shrimp with rice. I got my food quickly after I ordered it and that was through the Uber Eats app. I love that they separate the food so that it doesn't leak while it's being delivered. Please give this place a try if you want some old school soul food. read more

I really had high hopes for this place, until I was thinking about going back tomorrow. That was until I got ready to sit down for lunch and I had tomatoes on my hot sausage po'boy. I called at 10:44am and placed my order, the young lady over the phone stated that my order would be ready in 20mins (no problem). They were bring my order at 11:04am I mean 20mins on the dot. I don't go to until 3pm, however I pick up my food before going because I don't like to always leave. Got ready to eat and my sandwich was loaded with tomatoes. OH MY MY... I've never had meat just fall of the bone like that before! The people are nice, the food is mmmmm mmmm good!

Okay I came in and it was slow. after I put in my order for 2 grilled pork chops with three sides. (Peas, Rice & gravy, and yams) a huge rush came in. The staff is super nice. my food did take about 25 minutes to come out but it was worth the wait. Everything came out piping hot and the crazy part I devoured it all without hot sauce. All the soul food I eat always needs at least a dash of hot sauce but not here. The yams were sweet with a hint of cinnamon coming through, peas were flavorful, and the rice and gravy, well I could just eat that and be happy. the pork chops were seasoned very nicely. overall I got a glimpse of the locals coming in knowing exactly what they wanted and me a satisfied guy happy to jump on his plane and head home. read more

I was staying at a hotel just south of the airport and was craving some good creole soul food and this place hit the spot. Food is served cafeteria style, but something's are made to order like the fried pork chops. It does take awhile so I recommend calling ahead of time. It was definitely worth the wait. The gumbo was probably my favorite part. Pork chops were crispy and juicy, and the sides were all so filling. I think it was the owner who served me, but she gave me a free piece of cake since it was my first time visiting. Can't wait to go again and try the rest of the menu. read more

This.is a nice and quaint little soul food restaurant tucked away on the side of Kart and Karry gas station. They have a hot bar and today the meats they had to offer were meatloaf and neck bones. Many of the customers ordered the neck bone plate. I ordered the fried okra and a small cup of gumbo. My food was so good. The fried okra was fried to perfection. The gumbo was super flavorful with a large amount of shrimp, andouille sausage, and chicken. The establishment is clean and the service is great. I ordered the shrimp plate and it was horrible. The batter on the shrimp was like cardboard and not fresh at all. It's like they had leftovers and refried them the next day. The oil they used to fried the shrimp and fries must of been a year old because the fried shrimp and French fries was black!? It was horrible. Do yourself a favor and save your moneys. If they can't get regular fried shrimp and fries right the rest of the food must taste the same. All crap! read more

The food was very good. It was seasoned well but not spicy. The atmosphere was friendly.

Hot bar service with a few tables. Everything looked good! I went on a Thursday, so it was BBQ day. I got the pork chop and opted for three sides. Very friendly staff. I'll be back on the other days to try other food out. read more

A very homely and relaxed environment that offers delicious home cooked meals. I feel as though I'm sitting in my mother's kitchen. The owner is very nice and welcoming. Located in a non-descript small strip in an industrial area. Mia's is a creole/soulfood hot food bar/lunch spot. They have an extensive menu but I stuck with the hot food bar.
