From start to finish, the whole experience is solid -- the place is clean, the vibe is cool, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. The food though... absolutely incredible. I love the whole build-your-own setup because it lets you get exactly what you're in the mood for, but their signature bowls are just as good if not better. You really can't go wrong either way. My personal favorite right now is the Garlic Butter Chicken Stir Fry -- it's packed with flavor, the chicken is always tender, the egg noodles are cooked perfectly, and the chili crisps on top bring the perfect little kick. Hoo boy, does Honeygrow do a number on my digestive system. Not to be disgusting, but the garlic sauce here = splash city later in the toilet. Like someone left the faucet on. Just something about all these sauces made of processed chemicals. It ain't right, and your body knows it, and man will it punish you for your transgressions. When the Honeygrow first came into town, people were buzzing. I mean, it's made-to-order pasta, what's not to love? It uses the same concept as MOD Pizza and the like. Order at a counter or kiosk, choose a base (in this case pasta), then add as many toppings as you wish. Some are considered premium, like the proteins, while others are completely free of charge. The difference between Honeygrow and MOD, however, is at Honeygrow, there is a limit to the amount of free toppings you can add. This is capped at only three, which is kind of a bummer. Any more, and you have to pay extra. It's a scramble for tables. Basically a free for all. People waiting for their to-go orders will sometimes take up an entire table for themselves. How wasteful. During the warmer months, they set up a few tables on the small patio out front. There was a lot of hype in the first month or so, but now Honeygrow is just another blah lunch spot near the Target shopping center in Wyomissing. With so many other options around, I just don't see myself coming back for generic, overpriced pasta that ravages my insides within hours of consumption. On the plus side, the staff is friendly. On the downside, even when fully staffed, service drags. MOD Pizza, where they actually build (with more than three toppings) and bake a pizza, is somehow faster. read more

This place is expensive for what you get. You walk in and there are several screens for you to pick what you want then they either text you or call out your name when your order is ready. I had the butter chicken stir fry and thought it was just ok. It was a little spicy with the chili oil in it I got the cobbler and it was not that great in my opinion. It was also $8 for a little bowl with some yogurt and some apples. The one nice thing about this place is that they have usb chargers built into some of the seating. I nearly averted disaster. I ordered the Kale Chicken Caesar Salad and the kale is cut so large that when I forked some kale and tried to lift, it almost caused all of the toppings to be lifted out of the bowl. Luckily I noticed everything rising and avoided a mess, but I didn't have a knife, so I had to use the fork with surgical precision until the level got a little lower. (Ugh, they need to cut the kale smaller.) That said, the kale chicken salad was good but nothing special. I felt like I could easily make this at home, so not worth the high price ($20 for salad, extra chicken, and bottle of water: see picture) unless I was traveling or out for work and looking for a healthier option. Service was quick and fit our lunch hour with a short drive. The atmosphere was typical fast casual like a Panera or Chipotle, yawn, so not bad, but not great either. However, we chose to eat outside, and eating healthy outside on a nice fall day, was pretty nice. During my second visit to this location, I unfortunately experienced another disappointing outcome. I had previously read about the pre-opening in a newspaper article, which was excited to visit with my coworkers however, upon placing our order, we were informed by young lady that we require a code which we were unaware of she really escorted us out of the establishment. Despite the initial setback we decided to give this location another chance unfortunately, this visit turned out to be the worst experience I have ever had in a Honeygrow establishment. Specifically, I please see a mobile order at 12:02 PM with an estimated pick up time at 12:45 when I inquired about my order at 12:45 I was informed that I had only place my order 25 minutes ago and that it would be ready soon. However I explain that in fact I place my order at 12 PM and even showed my confirmation email and the staff promise to expedite my order. Regrettably I ended up waiting until 1:15 PM and had to cancel my order due to the lengthy delay. When I requested a receipt for proof of my cancellation from the Manager Josh I was informed that it cannot be provided due to the refund can only be processed at night when they close the batch . It cost about $20 and I wanted to dine in but it took so long I had to take it to go so I wouldn't miss an appointment. The meal was incredibly spicy, greasy and soooo salty. The restaurant in general looked very backed up as a lot of people were waiting for their food. Mind you this was a weeknight. It is new so it's possible they're still just working out the kinks.
