This is one of the best drink joints I've been to. The matcha ice with honeycomb is great as well as their sweet potato fries.

Wow, this place hasn't changed a bit and it is still as delicious as ever! I enjoyed the Greek…read moresalad, then proceeded to order a modified version of the European salad (sub arugula for mixed greens and added the candied walnut/cranberry mixture for more crunch). I also loved the pomegranate lemonade, tart and sweet is the perfect combination for a delicious beverage. The veggies were fresh; and flavorful...it is the best spot for a salad in the Malibu Country Mart!

Glancing down the menu, the Portofino Sando caught my eye (grilled chicken breast, pesto sauce, Swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato on toasted ciabatta bread). All "yum words" in John world...and boy, it hit the spot. Fresh, warm, toasty, clean, crispy... more yum words. It came with a basic side salad, just lettuce and carrot shavings, but it worked, especially with the ginger dressing. Very good size too: half now, half later as "lefties" and 1/2 the Cal's are my jam. I'm typically a full-flavor, spice-forward guy, but this hit the spot. If they had sun-dried tomatoes and I'd added bacon... 10/10. Without, still a solid 8.5! Throw in a pickle slice? 9.0. All good though, I'll be back. Cool little shopping center too. I'll have to bring my wife next time but avoid the "cute" store shopping if I want to stay on budget. LOL p.s. yes I only ate 1/2 the sando but Truth be told (TBT) I scarfed the entire cookie which was VG!

Came at around 2 pm on a weekday so was luckily able to find a parking spot and there was no line to order. If it's busy, good luck. Food was delicious and priced well. Shrimp basket - 10/10 Shrimp were fried perfectly to be honest. Got 6 shrimp over french fries (the fries were also great, thicker pieces that were fried perfectly). Tartar sauce was great, the cocktail sauce as well (and I don't normally like cocktail sauce). Filled me up great. Small clam chowder - 7/10 Pretty solid clam chowder. I probably wouldn't get it again, but the first few spoonfuls were great and very enjoyable. Some of the clam towards the bottom was more chewy which wasn't ideal. Got a bread roll as well and it came with oyster crackers. Spent roughly $30 total, around $20 on the shrimp basket and another $6-7 on the clam chowder. Would 100% come here again, highly recommend if you're in the area looking for some tasty seafood.

We've tried the grilled salmon in the past- and it's nicely cooked and tasty - but the star of the show is their fried offerings. What could be better than a crisply fried piece of cod with delicious fries overlooking the ocean? They do a better job frying fish than much more expensive places (looking at you Santa Monica seafood restaurant). The coleslaw is always fresh, and we also love the creamy chowder, chock full of clam bits. My one note is that they do not season their food so you need to add salt and pepper to everything. The coleslaw benefits from salt and a squeeze of lemon or a few drops of the malt vinegar on the table (also good with the fries of course). I'm not sure why they don't season their fish or batter - but maybe they figure it's best to keep it unsalted and people can add seasoning? There is also hot sauce on the table which adds the perfect zing to the chowder. The people who run the place are friendly and the place is especially popular on weekends. I'd recommend coming midweek either before or after peak lunch hours. Highly recommend.

So glad I decided to try this place out. It has gotten more upscale and refined than it used to be which is a nice change. The older space had a lot of nostalgia to it. Most importantly my prosciutto sandwich on French bread with a side of fries was so friggin good. Then I continued to throw caution to the wind and had some soft serve for dessert because they have it there so why not? Patio seating chill vibe, Malibu people watching.

At first, we loved the baked goods of "Scott's Malibu Market" and tried a bunch of different items - sprinkle cookie, chocolate chip cookie, marble loaf and the snickerdoodle cookie. All were amazing! We also enjoyed our breakfast date with the BEC sandwich on brioche and egg platter with sourdough toast. For the food, it is a great place and a nice option for breakfast and lunch, and for a sweet treat! However, the staff is unwelcoming and provides a cold experience! For example, when you are ordering - they act uninterested and impatient with taking an order. Smiles are hard to come by and even worse is the nasty attitude received when we were trying to help a woman with three large bags of food to her car; when my son attempted to retrieve the remaining bag for her - he was yelled at by the owner, Scott. He preceded to tell my son that he should have been told that we were helping the woman; and never apologized for the tone that he took with my son who was only trying to help the woman with a large order. IDK, maybe offer to help the woman to the car...just an idea since it didn't seem to register that it would've been a nice thing for him to do for his customer! As the owner, he should be setting a better example to his staff and to the community that he serves who are local to or visiting Malibu! It's a shame to have been left with such a bad experience; and hope that he and his staff might read this and change how they manage and serve their customers!

I now know definitively where to find it. They've also added the most incredible soft serve ice cream to their offerings. I also spotted that they now serve prosciutto which I was unaware of in the past and they have what appeared to be some delicious looking Caesar salads premade for about $15. I'm currently completely addicted to this amazing peanut nougat chocolate that they have. It's $5.50 a pop so as my original review states this place is Not exactly the $.99 cent only store but it's amazing selection of goods shows the purveyors attention to selection. They're keen on what they bring into the store and it shows. I've had a few bottles of wine from here. They were all yummy. I've yet to try any of their cheese, but it looks fantastic. As I go, I spend more and more time cruising what they have- they always have fine looking produce and I know occasionally they carry chanterelles. I do hope to scoop up some of those on a future visit (in season only of course). It does seem they really honor the seasonal pallet of things and from what I can tell most of their produce is local. They've also added a really lovely outdoor patio. All in all I'm very grateful this place in the canyon. They've saved me on a number of occasions when no dinner recipes came quickly to mind or when a soup hankering struck!

I ordered the pink cloud smoothie and Brazilian bowl (original acai bowl). I think the acai bowls are worth the price. It's not icy, however since it was a hot day it melted and became watery way too fast. The pink cloud smoothie tastes like the blended fruits with no added sugar. I tasted mostly of the dragon fruit. It didn't taste sweet at all and I wasn't expecting that since it had banana. If you're looking for a sweet smoothie, this isn't for you. Overall, SunLife Organics definitely uses fresh real fruit and is natural tasting. I recommend for those who are health conscious.
