I'm a huge fan of their Miami locations, so it was only a matter of time before I tried one of Pura Vida's LA options. Today, it was Pura Vida in Malibu, located in the same commercial plaza as Madhappy / Pantry, Frankies Bikinis, Be Kind Studios (pilates), and a soon-to-be Wally's. I really liked Pura Vida because of it's "health and wellness" angle. In re-reviewing the menus here, I noticed several items that were over 1,000 calories - not quite as health-conscious as I remember, but I knew it had to be just as delicious. Thankfully, I was right. I had the Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl which comes with a generous helping of avocado, cucumber, arugula, green onions / scallions, radish, spicy mayo, cilantro rice, and raw tuna. For about $35 with tax and tip, this was a rather hearty lunch that two people could easily share. I didn't mix it, as I prefer to eat ingredients separately, and received a soy ginger sauce on the side to complement the flavors. My friend opted for the Spicy Salmon Wrap, made with a specifically gluten-free wrap. That option comes with cooked salmon (which she found to be dry), edamame, carrots, avocado, and cilantro rice - as well as a side of fruit and the same soy ginger dressing/sauce I had. She wasn't wow'ed by the flavor, which may be because of the wrap, or the gluten-free nature of the preparation, or the salmon itself. The exterior patio seating is new, fun, and reminds me a bit of the La La Land coffee shop in Calabasas. Gorgeous place to have brunch or lunch outdoors and soak in some Malibu overcast. Service was efficient, personable, and polite. Plenty of staff to handle the crowd on a Saturday afternoon. Food came out quickly and tables were bussed in a timely manner. Free parking is available in the back lot, or else in the underground garage. There's also valet parking for $8 (all-day) toward the front.
Seed oil-free meals that taste clean and keep that feel-good feeling going if you've been trying your best to eat real food. I've had them on a few occasions, and they never disappoint. On my last visit there, I had their New Yorker, to nitpick, true lox is salt-cured, not smoked, but hey, I'll let that slip. Still a good bagel with quality ingredients. Other must-haves are the perfect egg sandwich and croissant sandwich. Drinks are a plus, clean without the jitters, and service is eh, but they're always busy, so it is what it is.
I really wanted to like this healthy-looking spot because the atmosphere was inviting. The colorful decor and vibrant patio seating created a nice place to relax, although it was still pretty hot outside during our visit. The overall vibe definitely gave off a fresh, wellness-focused feel. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the presentation. The steak salad was the biggest disappointment--the meat was extremely salty, almost to the point of being inedible. We requested it cooked medium, but it arrived well done and tough. The salmon was also overcooked, making it dry instead of flaky and moist. The salad itself didn't taste particularly fresh, which was surprising for a restaurant centered around healthy dishes. Service was okay--not bad, but nothing memorable. The drinks were another letdown. They lacked flavor and weren't refreshing at all. Honestly, you're probably better off ordering water. The restaurant has a great concept, beautiful colors, and a pleasant ambiance, but the execution in the kitchen needs improvement. I hope they can refine the food because the setting has a lot of potential.
I was looking for a place to eat breakfast that had vegetarian options & found this gem! The sandwich was so good & the aesthetic of this cafe gives miami. The staff are very attentive and friendly as well! I recommend. (surface parking is all the way in the back of the building or there is garage parking)
This is not about the service, the ambience, etc. Everything was fine except for the matcha I got. I spent $9.35 for matcha that tastes like a Starbucks matcha (which in my opinion is the worst matcha I've ever had in my life.) Do not come here for matcha. Try the nearby matcha cafe called Chit Chat instead.

My family and I were visiting the country mart and decided to come here for lunch. It has a nice outdoor ambiance, it feels a bit like you're in Greece with the white and neutral color palette and olive trees. Really nice casual yet also comfortable ambiance. They have lots of tables in their outdoor patio. You place your order inside, pay, and they bring your food out to you when ready. My bf and I split the avocado salmon bowl and the spicy tuna bowl. The wraps looked good but I was pretty hungry and they said the bowls have more food. The presentation of the bowls was beautiful - really colorful! Both were absolutely delicious and tasted so fresh. I liked the spicy tuna bowl slightly more, it was more citrusy, but my bf liked the salmon bowl more which was creamier with a green tahini sauce on the side. I loved both though! Someone in our party got the falafel bowl and enjoyed that. We also got to try a couple cookies - the pistachio matcha cookie was amazing. Superior customer service here as well - we were cold and asked if they could turn on the heat lamps. Though they weren't able to, they offered to bring us blankets which kept us comfortable. We also asked for some extra sauce which they happily did. Really standout and friendly customer service - thank you, Bryan and Yanis! Only downside to this place is the prices are pretty high, but you're in Malibu... at the country mart... and the food / ambiance / service are great, so maybe it won't even bother you.

We ordered the empanada trio, pesto chicken sandwich, spicy tuna bowl, and the seasonal smoothie. I really liked the empanadas, but my husband didn't. The chicken pesto was good but nothing special. The spicy tuna bowl was my favorite though, perfect ingredients and portions, and I would 100% order it again. The seasonal smoothie was good but not something I'd crave, especially for $20. Overall, I was really impressed and will definitely come back often for my Malibu day trips. It's a great spot for friends, families, group hangouts, dates, all of the above. Service was really nice, but since it was busy there were a couple things I had to ask for twice, which felt more like they were just slammed than anything else.
Pura Vida Miami is such a great spot, especially if you're looking for a healthier option! Everything we ordered tasted so fresh and flavorful. We got the avocado toast, hummus with pita, chopped Caesar salad, the pesto chicken sandwich, and everything was really good. You can definitely tell the ingredients are fresh and good quality. We also got a couple of their drinks/smoothies, which were super refreshing and went perfectly with the food. I love that there are so many healthy options without the food feeling boring or lacking flavor. Service was also great! The lady taking our order was guiding us through the menu and telling us her recommendations which we appreciated. The atmosphere is also really cute, bright, and relaxing. Definitely a great place for a fresh and healthy breakfast or lunch!
I don't really get the hype about this place. Sure its got nice decoration and you can't beat the location but the food is just bland. Service is meh. I'm not sure if it's even worth the wait. My drink was the main disappointment for me. I ordered the strawberry matcha - its was basic. Very tasteless and barely any strawberries in there. Its hard to mess up a drink, but if you are a matcha drinker, you can tell by just looking at my photo that something is off. I'd skip this place since there are much better options in malibu.
This place is such a great addition to the area. The decor and ambiance give a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Their team is attentive and welcoming. I wish I would have known they are cashless. I always tip cash and I was told since they are cashless they cannot accept a cash tip. I tried their Thai Salad and an iced oat milk Matcha latte. The salad was fresh. The dressing had a lil kick to it and tasted homemade. My matcha latte wasn't mixed properly and my first couple of sips tasted super sweet. By the time I gave it a good shakes/stir I had already drank most of the syrup which was disappointing. I'd still come back again as everything tasted fresh. Definitely worth a visit.
A beautiful location in the newly constructed Cross Creek Ranch area in Malibu. An ample amount of covered outside seating in a very peaceful setting. The service is attentive and quick, and they are quick to clean up the used tables. The food is healthy but just ok -- the egg wrap was decent but lacked flavor. The cappuccino was very very strong and not very good. I got the Miami mocha smoothie, which I couldn't finish because it tasted so bad. Only gets 4 stars because of the beautiful location.
The food actually isn't half bad and neither are the prices. It's located at the Malibu country mart and there's a lot of foot traffic there. Valet parking is pretty close by and ultimately what I chose to do. Line was rather long but understandable since it was a weekend.
Super healthy, casual but aesthetic spot for brunch or lunch. Located in which a great spot! Parking in the lot near Wally's or in the garage or street. Order and sit down. Coffee is great, brunch and lunch options are great and reasonably priced. Food came out so quickly! They really get you in and out. read more

My friends and I were looking for a patio spot to enjoy the sunshine and grab a healthy meal - Pura Vida was perfect! The customer service was fantastic; everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The service was quick and seamless. I ordered the ahi tuna bowl and finished with a chai latte, and both were incredible. The location is also a huge plus - walking distance to great shops and the beach. This place is awesome! Such a beautiful place to have lunch outside and take in the lovely Malibu weather! I had the Chicken Pesto sandwich and loved it. The amount of chicken on the sandwich is so great and the bread was so flavorful. It was served with some pita chips and a delicious, unique sauce on the side. The Thai Chicken Salad is also phenomenal and such a large portion. I loved Pura Vida and definitely hope to dine at one of the locations again in the future read more

Amazing service and food! I was told that the avocado was prepared by one of the best prep chef that day and it tasted so fresh and delicious. AC and the rest of the team were nothing but kind and made sure everything turned out well. It's located in the very back of the center which made it very peaceful and nice. It gives me pure life to be the first elite to give this great cafe their LA flowers. . With over 30 locations nationwide, Pura Vida is taking over on the East and West coasts. Offering all day breakfast, coffee, tea, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, bowls and more, there's a dish on the menu for every preference and every palette. . From many options to choose indicates there is a fairly large menu. So far of what I've tried, my favorite sandwich is the tuna sprout (runner up is the pesto chicken on multi grain sourdough!) For drinks it's the hot or iced spiced chai or matcha with oat and pistachio mylk, respectively and the Welcome to Miami smoothie. You can tell the brand is intentional about their food and values. . The staff are well trained, kind and informative. It's refreshing to see people that care about their work and doing it well together. It's clear the employees care for the space because the venue is super clean. The design dons white and wood wicker chairs, neutral toned chandeliers and an elevated rustic aesthetic. They are tucked away behind Kith on Civic Center Way and offer a plush patio with benches, fountains, flower beds and grass surroundings. . There is only one restroom inside the restaurant, nonetheless, several others with stalls are sprinkled throughout the plaza. Parking is also a breeze with free street parking available, a garage and multiple lots. . A grand opening can be hectic, but they are handling it with ease, poise and grace. If you're in Malibu, it's definitely worth a try! read more

Already becoming our regular Malibu breakfast spot! My husband and I discovered Pura Vida a few weeks ago and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Malibu. Since our first visit, we've already been back several times! The ambiance is beautiful: bright, clean, and very aesthetic with white tones and washed woods that create such a fresh, relaxing atmosphere. What really sets this place apart is the service. A special shoutout to Luis, one of the managers, who was incredibly attentive. My husband is a very picky eater and Luis took the time to help tailor his order exactly how he likes it. Both times everything came out perfect, which honestly doesn't always happen even at fine dining restaurants when you request substitutions. Also a thank you to Sammy for recommending one of the limited-time creatine smoothies, it was fantastic! We live in Westlake Village but my husband has an office in Malibu, so this will definitely be one of our regular breakfast and coffee spots. An excellent place to stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My wife and I were enjoying a nice morning walk around the shops and were drawn in by the incredible coffee and pastry smells coming from inside Pura Vida. I got a cappuccino and a pain au chocolate that were both excellent. The pastry was flakey, buttery and fresh. The cappuccino was delicious, 10/10 no notes. My wife enjoyed a warmed croissant that was just as good as the pain au chocolate. The atmosphere was great, Miami Beach vibes in the middle of Malibu. The stand out for me was the customer service. Huge shout out to Luis! He was warm, welcoming and made us both want to come back again. Pura Vida, great food, great vibes, great people. Thank you Luis! read more
