The absolute best place for Breakfast! The service was amazing and we loved the outdoor seating. The Ambiance was super chill, perfect for a Sunday morning! The lox and bagels and chicken and waffles were amazing!!! Definitely will come back, if we are in the area again!!

Below average food in comparison to the many amazing cafes and restaurants in the LA area. Nice ambience sitting outside and very friendly server, but chicken parmesan was very dry and the chicken was tiny compared to the huge portion of pasta (probably 3x any chicken parm I have had before). Didn't seem fresh. Lamb burger was ok, nothing special.

Tried the Gilson's scramble while exploring Malibu for a day trip. It was delicious! The scramble had the right combination of fresh avocado and crispy bacon with some home style potatoes. I say this often, but I will be returning to try other items on the menu.

Came to marmalade cafe Malibu with my (at the time) boyfriend for brunch, and we really enjoyed it! The restaurant has plenty of seating, we didn't have to wait at all. Our server was very friendly, and the food only took maybe 10ish mins to come out, was overall pretty fast. The ambiance is pretty standard upscale brunch, no surprise since this cafe is inside the Malibu market area. Re: food, we ordered the short rib hash, lobster lime tacos, and a plate of white chocolate macadamia nut pancakes and shared everything. All quite good! Would def recommend if you're in Malibu and just want a straightforward, satisfactory brunch. :)

Had a fantastic dinner here with some friends! I had the crispy eggplant Parmesan, and was surprised that it wasn't on a pasta base (or anything, actually), but they brought me some spaghetti to use as a base as an additional side for only $5 extra. The portion was MASSIVE and ended up being two large meals which certainly helped me feel better about the pricing. My friends had the fish tacos and the Mac & Cheese, respectively. We were amazed by the seven cheeses apparently in the Mac and cheese, and while I did not try it because my friend added bacon to theirs and I am vegetarian, they reported that it was wonderful. Honestly, while everything was pricey, it was clearly high quality and the portions were VERY generous, so it feels worthwhile. We were the only people sitting outside because of the December chill, but it was a really lovely outdoor seating area. Finally, I have to commend the service. The staff were all incredibly kind and accommodating. One accidentally brought one of my friends the wrong drink, and while both he & our main waiter noticed and offered to replace it, my friend refused and said they'd just stick with what they'd been brought instead. Even so, the one who'd made the mix-up still brought them a replacement with what they'd originally ordered a bit later, free of charge. The main waiter even offered to bring us a free dessert as an apology, but we were quite full and it really was no problem, so refused and tipped generously. I'm never in Malibu, but if I ever find myself in the area again, I'll have to return!

What a great place to have Memorial Day breakfast. We sat on the patio and enjoyed every second. Our server was great. Our food came out promptly and correct . It was delicious! They have gluten free toast which was awesome! The bussers here deserve a huge shout out. They were on top of refills etc. The restaurant itself mimicked other marmalades in the area. Oh and my Mom got the pineapple upside down pancake to go and boy did that look appetizing!!

I love this location, just off the PCH in the heart of Malibu, near a lot of other great vendors, but the breakfast overall was good just not great. We had a bad first impression because when we entered three different staff members walked by us and near us without greeting us or seating us even though we were obviously looking to have breakfast. Our waitress once we did sit down was fantastic though, and all the items came out quickly. There is a large free parking lot attached so there will be plenty of spaces. It's quite large on the inside with a lot of different seating options for various sized groups. For my meal, I chose the Spicy Chorizo Benedict and thought it was pretty good. The eggs were cooked perfectly, but there was very little sauce on it and I really wish it would've had hashbrowns instead of the home potatoes which were overall kind of dry. Overall, a nice breakfast option, especially if you are in the area.

We came here for lunch after hiking in the area. Restaurant is spacious. Food is alright. service is fast! I like that waiting is minimal. This is crucial after a hike. Parking at this lot can be bit congested but so is PCH and the surrounding streets.

This was one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. I ordered the fish and chips and my boyfriend ordered the salmon eggs Benedict. We were brought the fish tacos and the salmon eggs Benedict. After they re-brought me the correct meal, it seemed that it was frozen, pre made breaded fish due to the uniform shape and watery bland taste. The portions were also small on the fish. The coleslaw took over the plate, no person wants that much coleslaw as a side. For two simply portions of fish, French fries, and about 2 cups of coleslaw I paid $24.99. My boyfriend said the eggs for the eggs Benedict had an unusual leathery, softball-like texture on the whites. We had to flag down a waitress after waiting for quite a while for our bill. There is a good amount of parking, but the lot gets crowded quickly.

However, we were surprised by the pricing for what is essentially a takeout operation: $28 for a steak sandwich, $24 for a chicken sandwich, $24 for a breakfast burrito, $17 for bread and butter, and $9 for a cookie--all with a required 18% gratuity. We hoped the quality of the food would justify the cost, but unfortunately, it did not. After waiting a long time for our order, we finally sat down to eat, only to be very disappointed. * The Fries: These were thick, over-seasoned, and over-fried potato wedges. * The Steak Sandwich: Consisting only of steak and onion, it was incredibly dry and unappealing. * The Burrito: Entirely bland and lacked flavor with eggs and over fried bacon bits and potatoes * The Coffee: Even the iced lattes at the coffee shack were bad - tasted very milky with very little espresso and warm. Our mocha latte was horrible as the chocolate powder was not mixed well, clumpy on the bottom of the cup The meal felt greasy and unhealthy, and despite being hungry, we couldn't even finish half of it. The food was absolutely disgusting. We threw everything in the trash bin. I wouldn't recommend this spot and certainly won't be returning. It felt very much like a one time money grab as no one in our family will be revisiting this place. Even Jack in the Box would be better.

From the moment you arrive, you feel transported -- like you've stepped into the middle of an enchanted forest. The setting is exquisite and utterly peaceful, with birdsong in the background and, in our case, the most gorgeous, healthy-looking coyote casually trotting by the creek our outdoor table was overlooking mid-dinner. Even the wildlife knows this place is special. We started with the marinated olives and the house bread served with fennel butter -- a combination that set the tone perfectly. The fennel butter alone is worth the trip -- it is unique and very tasty -- their bread is made in house and DELICIOUS. I had the pomegranate spritzer mocktail, which was refreshingly light and not too sweet -- ideal for sipping through a long, leisurely dinner. For wine lovers, they carry half bottles, which is a lovely touch. We had a 2016 Bordeaux that was honestly one of the best wines either of us has ever tasted. On to the food -- the vegan soup (Charred Leek & Potato) was a wonderful starter (perfectly seasoned), and for my main I had the scallops, which were beautifully portioned and seasoned as well. My friend ordered the braised short rib and said it was phenomenal. Note on the Creamy Polenta -- SMOOTHEST most DELICIOUS polenta ever. But the MVP of the evening was our server, Brian. Confident, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible meal. When we asked for a dessert recommendation he didn't hesitate -- banana bread pudding -- and he was absolutely right. Don't skip it. The couple next to us had the Mushroom Truffle Risotto which they raved about. Inn of the Seventh Ray is one of those rare places that nourishes you on every level. We'll be back.... SOON. We left totally blissed out from the whole experience. We recommend sitting outside -- it's just so soothing and special to sit creekside and be able to see and listen to all that wildlife. Heaters are there if you get chilly, but we were 100% comfortable. Also, side note on the darling store on-site -- called the Spiral Staircase. They sell books, crystals, gift-like items and it's a treat to walk through there and check everything out. And there's a wine store on-site too with a great selection.
