This was my first visit to Rome, and my first time trying HoneyMoon Bakery. They have an incredible selection of cookies, gourmet cupcakes, as well as exquisite, small decorated cakes and gelato. I had arrive near the end of the day, thus I was able to take advantage of their Bogo on cookies and mini crème brûlée's. I ordered one of their chocolate walnut chunk cookies and one of their crinkle cookies. Both cookies tasted fresh and very flavorful. They were slightly crispy or crunchy around the edges and super soft in the center. I also tried one of their mini chocolate cupcakes. It was packed full of concentrated chocolate goodness, which was so extreme, yet good, that I ended up taking a slight break in between bites. The shop has the look and feel of an upscale, professional bakery, and there are plenty of tables if you'd like to sit down and enjoy your sweet purchase. The staff was friendly and welcoming. As a new customer, they took the time to graciously answer all of my many questions. I would definitely consider returning the next time I visit Rome, and I would highly recommend you try this one-of-a-kind bakery too. When planning your visit, keep in mind the bakery is closed on Sundays and Mondays. They are open late until 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Cheers

Dense and disgusting. We ordered a cake for a 90th birthday event with light icing. They filled the cake with icing and not one of the 50 guest had more than one bite. They even decorated it wrong. They offered to fix the decoration but so late in the day there was no time. It tasted awful and they really don't care once they get the money. Horrible customer service and would not recommend this place to anyone.

Before my Ironman Chattanooga race weekend there tradition make stop in Rome, GA. Good friend lives in the area and been many small rural towns in US. U really find some hidden gems. Honey Moon Bakery is definitely one of them. I was looking to get birthday cake or cupcake for friend that also doing Ironman Chattanooga. Her birthday weekend. Plus I was craving sweets anyway and perfect recommendation. Bakery totally legit! The minute walk in forgot in small town but bakery see in big city. Interior is really nice and modern. The display cases were filled with mouth watering sweets. Diversity insane. The first display had different cookies non cakes or cupcakes. The next two had assortment of cakes and cupcakes. I like cupcakes have regular and mini size each flavor. Last one gelato section. So many and only so much can eat. Rough choose couple. I ended up two oatmeal cookies, macaroon (huge twice size regular one), and four cupcakes take with me to Chattanooga. They do custom cakes that am sure are da Bonn. This cool open room see all magic finish decorating. It got own personality. Awesome! Everything had was amazing. Just wish in Rome longer so try more of the menu. The staff nothing but five stars. Oh my! Great place for a sugar rush! Very clean, fabulous selection of baked goods and Gelato. We tried a good selection of baked goods. So good, we came back the next day to secure provisions for our drive home. Friendly staff and very fair prices. When in Rome, this is a must!

Loved visiting this bakery for a couple breakfast bites. I do wish they had more, but they make up for it with all the different selections of cakes and cookies and such. So, a couple days ago, I visited your local downtown bakery. I've seen Honeymoon Bakery on broad street numerous times as I was formally employed at a nearby establishment. I always thought of going in and never did. I finally did today and it was wonderful. The outside of the bakery is welcoming and has plenty of outside seating. The aroma that emerges from the inside is very nostalgic and fills you up with happiness and warmth. I got the Smores Brownie and it was delicious. You can taste the flavors with any of them overpowering each other. Super soft and will definitely satisfy that sweet tooth. Staff is amazing and is a must go when craving a bakery item. You get what you pay for. It looks great, smells great, and tastes amazing. Dont think twice, just go!!!

I've been to a lot of nice little bakeries. They all have their charms, and Honeymoon is no exception! Y'all they have the cutest decorations on the cookies, bars , and cupcakes and of course all the other pastries. I had bigger eyes than my tummy and still couldn't try everything I wanted. Split mini cupcakes with my husband, and sampled the cheese straws, and devoured the best dang creme Horne I've ever had the privilege to taste. It's one of their top items. I have been here a hundred times and I have never left without a smile on my face. They have the best cheesecake and you get a very large portion for a good price. They made my daughters first birthday cake and it was better than anticipated. I can't speak highly enough for this place. I wish I worked there or lived nearby so I could eat there everyday. Parking may be hard to find sometimes. read more

An ideal companion to Harvest Moon Cafe. After we eat lunch or dinner at Harvest Moon Cafe next door, we come over to have some gelato and fresh baked cookies. The food is always fresh and reasonably priced. We purchased a Red Velvet Cake this past weekend and the cream cheese icing is incredible. We haven't tried anything here that we have not liked. read more

An excellent bakery and well run business! I have used this bakery three times. Each time I ordered, it was equally important to me for a family members birthday. Wow !!! This place is awesome !!! We came in to breakfast and it was a great find I had a bacon , egg and cheese in a croissant. And it was delicious. My wife and mother inlaw had egg egg sandwich with spinach. And is was excellent. The deserts were a feast for the eyes. I will be back for sure !!! read more

Sent them a picture of a cake I found on line for my daughters 19th birthday, a two tier cake with cactus, succulents that were eatable, and they nailed it 100% and the cake was moist and delicious. Never had anything from this bakery that wasn't good. Would use again and again. read more

This cute little bakery saved our night after an overpriced and uninspiring meal on the square. We ordered cannoli and chocolate torte and both were amazing. We enjoyed a cup of locally roasted coffee which was pretty tasty. I decided I must come back to sample some of the gelato which looked heavenly, and I was also impressed to see many gluten free options available. read more

The ladies behind the counter are always friendly and very prompt. Sometimes in the summer there's a line for the gelato, but they are always working hard to get everyone taken care of as quickly as possible. Their brownies, cupcakes, and gelato are all delicious! read more

This place is awesome! We used the bakery for our wedding cake. Months before we went for a tasting and had a hard time deciding. Everything is so good! We decided on a pound cake with lemon pastry cream. One our of guests told us the cake came straight from Heaven! It was delicious. The people at the bakery are so kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Oh and btw, we had some of their brownies which all the guest devoured. And we had some cheese straws straight out of the oven on one of our visits. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Honeymoon bakery and have been loyally devouring their delightful sweet treats since they opened a decade ago (Has it been that long?). This including insisting that my sister use them for her wedding cake because their attention to detail is bar nun. However, my boyfriend and I were celebrating our 7 year anniversary yesterday with a casual dinner and stroll down Broad when he stopped in to grab desert and coffee for us. He thoughtfully picked out two of the beautifully decorated cupcakes and was handed a box that must have been for cookies or other short pastries containing one cupcake that looked like, as he put it, "must have been a practice run" and another who's decoration had been smashed beyond recognition against the clear plastic of the container. Being the polite pacifist he is he brushed it off and we enjoyed the mangled tasty mess. Now this by now means will deter me from gorging on honeymoons confections in the future but come on folks, get it together. Buy some cupcake boxes. And if you run out certainly don't allow your patrons to spend $2.50 a cupcake on a hot mess. You're better than that. P.s. The one star is simply on principal. If this were my first impression I wouldn't go back. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Kevin D.

Kevin has always had a passion for cooking and baking. When he opened the bakery in 2007 his dream was to have a unique bakery offering a wide variety of pastries and custom cakes to the community of Historic Downtown Rome. But it didn't stop there. He didn't want to just have a bakery, but to have a bakery where everything is made in house from scratch. One that every ingredient is known and added by hand. To pair with that is a bakery that provides excellent service for an excellent product. Honeymoon Bakery is a place where traditions start and we honor the invitation to join in the many celebrations with our customers.
